Urban Martial Saint

Listening to Ye Qing’s words, Shijia only let out a cold snort. He glanced at Ye Qing and said, ”Do you know what appointment they’re actually going to keep?”

Ye Qing’s heart stirred. From Shijia’s tone, could it be that he knew something?

”Do you know?” Ye Qing countered.

Shijia smiled and said, ”These things, you don’t need to know for now. You just need to know that if the Sword Saint Sect Master really went to keep that appointment, then there would absolutely never again be any beyond peerless masters in the Sword Saint Sect!”

”Why?” Ye Qing asked in surprise.

”Don’t ask why. Just knowing this is enough; you don’t need to know the rest.” Shijia waved his hand and said, ”The Sword Saint Sect’s beyond peerless masters are definitely more than one or two. So the Sword Saint Sect Master absolutely did not go to keep that appointment!”

Ye Qing drew in a deep breath. He really hadn’t known about these things before. Hearing Shijia say all this now, he truly was shocked. The Sword Saint Sect actually had quite a few beyond peerless masters—no wonder people were so wary of the Sword Saint Sect before; turns out there was a reason for it.

”So just how strong is the Sword Saint Sect’s strength now?” Ye Qing asked.

”That I don’t know either.” Shijia shrugged and said, ”In fact, we already knew about the Sword Saint Sect’s matters a long time ago. But due to certain reasons, we cannot interfere in anything related to the Sword Saint Sect. So as for what their current strength is like, honestly, I really don’t know!”

Ye Qing was stunned and said, ”What reasons? Neither of you can interfere in anything related to the Sword Saint Sect?”

Shijia said, ”This matter can’t be spoken of now. When the time comes, you’ll naturally know.”

Ye Qing was speechless. Just how many things did this Shijia have that he ”couldn’t talk about”? Everything was made so mysterious—what kind of matter needed to be hidden like this?

”Alright, now it’s time to tell you the main point!” Shijia looked at Ye Qing and said, ”The Sword Saint Sect’s strength is extremely formidable; this, you should already know. And their ambition is enormous too—they want to swallow the world. Dealing with the Sword Saint Sect is not an easy matter. Wuji and I both can’t step in, and Fu Qingping alone is not their match. I can’t just sit by and watch the Sword Saint Sect slowly devour the other powers, can I?”

Ye Qing frowned slightly, looked at Shijia, and said, ”This is why you stole out the Minghong Knife’s Scabbard?”

”Hey, you actually got it right!” Shijia clapped his hands and said, ”Actually, Wuji and I were still racking our brains over how to deal with this. Then, somehow, Wuji got hold of a map with clues about the Minghong Knife’s Scabbard. After the two of us studied that map, we found that the Minghong Knife’s Scabbard was hidden in the same Cave where the Great Demon King Coffin in the Demon Hideout Cave was located. So I had you bring me in, and while we were at it, I took the Minghong Knife’s Scabbard out!”

Hearing this, Ye Qing couldn’t help recalling what had happened earlier in Humeng City. At that time, people from the Church had brought a map, and the clues to the Minghong Knife’s Scabbard were on it. They had wanted to enter Huaxia to find the Minghong Knife’s Scabbard, and then search for the Minghong Knife itself. But they were attacked, and the map fell into Ye Qing’s hands. In the most dangerous moment, Ye Qing hid the map, and later it was taken away by Ning Qianshu. Ye Qing had originally memorized the map, but he had never fully worked it out. He hadn’t expected that after Ning Qianshu brought the map to the Twelve Green Halls, Wuji and Shijia would crack it together, and thus find the Minghong Knife’s Scabbard. Thinking about it, this whole thing really was a series of bizarre coincidences.

”You want to use the Minghong Knife’s Scabbard to deal with the Sword Saint Sect?” Ye Qing frowned slightly, looked at Shijia, and said, ”Just a scabbard—is that enough to deal with the Sword Saint Sect?”

”You’re talking like this because you don’t know just how powerful the Minghong Knife is, and you don’t know what kind of power the Minghong Knife’s Scabbard has!” Shijia chuckled, looked at Ye Qing, and said, ”Let me put it in the simplest way: using the Minghong Knife’s Scabbard, you can use beyond peerless power without any limit!”

”What!?” Ye Qing’s expression changed. He stared at Shijia in shock, his face filled with disbelief.

”Well? Shocked, aren’t you?” Shijia said, ”Generally, once a beyond peerless master uses beyond peerless power, it will draw Heavenly Retribution. Either they die an unnatural death, or they mysteriously vanish. So beyond peerless masters usually don’t dare to casually unleash beyond peerless power. But the Minghong Knife’s Scabbard can isolate Heavenly Retribution, allowing one to use beyond peerless power without restriction!”

”This… is this real?” Ye Qing’s eyes went wide. If this was true, then this was huge. For beyond peerless masters, the Minghong Knife’s Scabbard was practically the ultimate weapon. If a beyond peerless master held the Minghong Knife’s Scabbard, who could possibly contend with them?

If he had known this earlier, Ye Qing would have brought out the Minghong Knife’s Scabbard long ago and let Fu Qingping use it—how would it have come to Shijia stealing it?

”Of course it’s real. Otherwise why would I risk stealing it?” Shijia replied.

”Then… where is the Scabbard now?” Ye Qing asked anxiously. ”You can’t personally act against people from the Sword Saint Sect. Why don’t you give this Scabbard to my grandmaster and let him take action against them?”

Although Fu Qingping’s strength was inferior to those of the Sword Saint Sect, if he held the Minghong Knife’s Scabbard, dealing with the Sword Saint Sect would become much easier.

Shijia spread his hands and said, ”The Scabbard’s not on me!”

”Not on you? Then where is it?” Ye Qing asked in puzzlement.

”It got snatched!” Shijia said.

”Damn, are you an idiot or what!” Ye Qing couldn’t help cursing. This damn bald donkey—such an important item, and you actually let someone snatch it? You even have the nerve to keep living?

”When was it snatched? By who?” Ye Qing asked.

”Uh…” Shijia scratched his head and said, ”After I came in here, it was snatched. I don’t know who took it either—that guy had his face covered. But I can be sure that the one who took the Scabbard is the same person who set up all these mechanisms here to deal with me!”

Ye Qing furrowed his brows. Shijia was already a beyond peerless master; if someone could still snatch the Minghong Knife’s Scabbard from his hands, then that person was definitely also a beyond peerless master. But which beyond peerless master was hiding here, waiting to rob Shijia? And not only that, this person had painstakingly laid such a trap here just to target Shijia—this guy was truly devious. With someone like that holding the Minghong Knife’s Scabbard, wouldn’t all hell break loose?

”Still, there’s nothing to worry about in this.” Shijia said, ”Once we get out, we just need to see who’s using the Minghong Knife’s Scabbard and we’ll know who took it. Then we’ll also know who set up this trap to ambush me!”

Hearing this, Ye Qing’s anger instantly surged up. He glared at Shijia and said furiously, ”Look at our situation right now—do you really think we can get out of here?”

”That’s hard to say.” Shijia thought for a moment, then said, ”From what I’ve observed, that thing being suppressed here struggles once every day. When it struggles, all its power is focused on resisting the Acala Buddha Seal’s power. At that moment, if we could move that suppressed thing, we could break this formation and we’d be able to get out!”

Ye Qing said, ”Didn’t you say that thing is very powerful, that we can’t move it by our own strength, and that it’s very dangerous—that moving it rashly would even cost us our lives?”

Shijia said, ”Didn’t I just tell you? When it resists, all its power is concentrated on opposing the Acala Buddha Seal. At that time, it has no strength left to deal with anything else. We can move it then; touching it won’t be dangerous.”

”Really?” Ye Qing gave Shijia a sidelong glance, pondering how trustworthy his words actually were. This old fox—was he trying to trick him into going to move that thing?

”Don’t look at me like that. I’d love to have you go move that thing, but right now that’s impossible!” Shijia glared.

”Why is it impossible?” Ye Qing asked in surprise.

”Because that thing isn’t placed in this Cave.” Shijia said, ”You should have seen it when you came in—there are two entrances on the Tai Chi Circle outside. I’ve already figured it out: this entrance of ours should be where the Acala Buddha Seal is located. The other entrance is the cave where that thing is. Unless one of us can get out and go into the other cave to move that thing, we have no chance at all!”

”I’ve got a few friends outside. Why don’t we have them go over and move that thing?” Ye Qing said quickly.

”Nonsense. Can you even send a message out?” Shijia shot Ye Qing a glare and said, ”Once you enter this Cave, you can forget about everything else—you simply can’t get out, and no messages can be sent. Even if there are people outside, they can’t receive any word from you at all. The only way they’d know about this is if they come in. But once they enter, they can’t get out either.”

”This…” Ye Qing was immediately at a loss for words. So in other words, the two of them really were in a desperate situation. Now they could only pin their hopes on the people outside accidentally entering that Cave and touching the suppressed thing. But that wasn’t as simple as just entering the Cave. According to Shijia, it had to be timed just right—they’d have to move it precisely when that thing was fully resisting the Acala Buddha Seal. Touching it at any other time was basically asking to die; the backlash from that thing’s power was enough to leave someone without even a place for their corpse.

With circumstances like this, with such harsh conditions, those few people outside might all die over there and still never truly find that opportunity. It looked like the two of them getting out of here was basically already impossible.
