Urban Martial Saint

Looking at Old Chen standing three hundred meters away, Ye Qing couldn’t wrap his head around it. What exactly happened? Old Chen was clearly right in front of him, but how did he tumble and suddenly end up to his left front? Falling once and instantly moving over four hundred meters? Is this supernatural?

This time, Ye Qing completely believed what Old Chen had said. It seemed Old Chen really had fallen and moved a distance of four to five hundred meters. But what is going on here? Ye Qing had ventured into many ancient tombs and witnessed many strange mechanisms. However, this kind of situation was a first for him. Moreover, a mechanism that could cause someone to fall and merge into the ground, Ye Qing had never heard of, and one that could instantaneously relocate someone four or five hundred meters, Ye Qing couldn’t even fathom such a possibility in his wildest dreams.

But now, this matter was genuinely happening right in front of him, forcing Ye Qing to believe. Staring at Old Chen, more than three hundred meters away, Ye Qing was stunned, standing there in a daze, not knowing what to do for the moment.

”Young Ye, now you believe what I said, right!” Old Chen mumbled while rubbing his butt: ”Ow, that fall nearly killed me. It’s all your fault, making me run, and now look, I ran fast and fell hard. Luckily, with my previous experience, I turned my body in time and landed on my butt. Otherwise, if I had hit the ground with my face, wouldn’t that have ruined my looks?”

Snapped out of it by Old Chen’s nagging, looking at his smirking face, Ye Qing silently thought: If someone like you really hit the ground with your face, that would practically be a cosmetic improvement!

Of course, Ye Qing couldn’t say this out loud; otherwise, Old Chen would nag him until his head hurt. Besides, at the moment, Ye Qing was more focused on figuring out the situation in the cave. He could now conclude that there was a mechanism within the Gate of Life. But what exactly was this mechanism, he still couldn’t figure out. So, he must try walking around within this mechanism to personally experience it and figure out the situation. After all, this was the last Gate of Life and the only way everyone could leave. If they couldn’t break the mechanism at this Gate of Life, nobody could leave this Tomb of Ghost Valley Master!

Ye Qing didn’t know exactly where the mechanism was, but since Old Chen fell into the mechanism beside him earlier, it meant that somewhere within his vicinity, there must be a mechanism. He just needed to walk around his position to certainly step into the mechanism.

Old Chen was on Ye Qing’s left earlier, which means he stepped into the trap in that direction. Ye Qing then slowly retreated to his left rear, walking slowly and observing everything around him. If he stepped into the mechanism, he had to see clearly what happened around him.

After taking about two steps, just as Ye Qing was about to place his foot onto the stone slab, he suddenly felt empty beneath his foot. The spot where he aimed to step was actually a pit, not the stone slab he perceived.

Even though Ye Qing was prepared, he still could not react at that moment. Moreover, although he possessed Inner Strength at the moment, he could not utilize it, and naturally, it was impossible to change his action then; his foot stepped into emptiness, and just like Old Chen earlier, he tumbled forward.

Knowing that this was unavoidable, Ye Qing didn’t forcefully change his situation but focused on observing everything around him. When his foot landed on the stone slab, just as he saw Old Chen earlier, his foot seemed to step into an illusory stone slab, passing through directly. As his foot went through that illusory stone slab, there was no discomfort; it felt like he truly stumbled. Before he could sense anything, he had already fallen.

The fall wasn’t severe, but upon landing, Ye Qing found himself in a large pit, just like Old Chen described.

Looking at this large pit around him, Ye Qing had a sudden realization and quickly climbed out, looking around, only to find himself already deep inside the cave. Old Chen was about four hundred meters ahead to his right. Meaning, this fall had moved him a distance of four to five hundred meters.

Everything was exactly as Old Chen had described!

This time, even Ye Qing was shocked. Such an event was completely beyond human understanding. How could the stone slab he stepped on be an illusion? How did he suddenly fall several hundred meters, even if he flew on a plane, he couldn’t get hundreds of meters away this fast; what on earth was happening?

”How about that, now you believe, right?” Old Chen also saw Ye Qing in the distance, waving his arms and shouting loudly: ”Didn’t I say, this is how it is. You obviously didn’t believe me earlier. Now reality has proven, didn’t I tell the truth. In the future, when I speak, you should listen quietly, do you think I would trick you? Moreover...”

Ye Qing simply turned his head away, ignoring Old Chen’s chatter. This old guy could go on endlessly once he started nagging.

Looking at the rocky walls around, while Ye Qing was shocked, he was also pondering over the happenings after he fell. When he stepped into emptiness, he directly fell into this stone pit. Logically, after climbing up, he would be somewhere near his initial spot; how could he have fallen so far? It felt like after falling, he instantaneously moved here. But how could there be instantaneous relocation in this world? Therefore, Ye Qing still suspected that he hadn’t moved that far, and it should all be false.

Thinking of this, Ye Qing suddenly had an idea. Previously in Humeng City, the first time he encountered Wo Country’s Ninja, they used a very peculiar Ninjutsu to rescue Wan Yan Zong. The Ninja would suddenly disappear from one place and then appear not far from people, launching surprise attacks. Such stealth tactics caught many off guard, if it weren’t for that time Huangfu Ziyu wielded the Sun Shooting Bow to sense the surrounding energy trajectory, they might have been killed by the Ninja.

After that incident, Ye Qing also consulted Shen Tianjun about Wo Country’s Ninjas. Shen Tianjun explained that the art of Ninjutsu is essentially a mix of Blinding Method and Qimen Dunjia. Blinding Method is akin to magic, intended to deceive, while Qimen Dunjia itself is extraordinary, being a secret technique handed down by the Taoist Sect, capable of bewildering and being subtly powerful at advanced levels.

Ye Qing was now inside the Tomb of Ghost Valley Master, and by his estimation, this tomb was behind the final Gate of Life. Yet, with so many living Werewolves and those giants around, Ghost Valley Master surely wouldn’t let these things exit through the Gate of Life. Thus, there must be a mechanism to prevent easy departure.

After encountering such a situation in this cave, Ye Qing was even more certain that there was a mechanism inside. And since it was the Gate of Life, the mechanism shouldn’t be lethal. Hence, the first thing that came to Ye Qing’s mind was a formation. There must be a formation guarding this Gate of Life, preventing easy escape. But within this formation, there was also the infusion of Qimen Dunjia’s secret techniques, obscuring the Six Senses, causing illusions within the formation. In simple terms, everything Ye Qing saw was false. He didn’t move several hundred meters, and neither was Old Chen that far away!

Of course, this was only what Ye Qing thought. Even if he guessed there was a formation in the cave, he couldn’t determine what it was. Consequently, Ye Qing had no method for breaking the formation. To break it, Ye Qing would atleast have to understand it first.

Having studied the Stepping Technique of the Heavenly Gangs and Northern Dipper, Ye Qing was quite knowledgeable about Taoist formations. However, with Qimen Dunjia’s mind-bewitching effects added, breaking this formation became quite challenging.

After standing in silence for a while, Ye Qing suddenly took a deep breath, closed his eyes, and began walking forward. With his eyes closed, he didn’t even look at the ground ahead. After walking less than three steps, he fell into another pit.

Despite the fall, Ye Qing didn’t open his eyes, crawled out of the pit, and continued walking forward, consistently falling and rising, keeping his eyes shut and maintaining his direction.

Old Chen, seeing Ye Qing’s antics from a distance, was quite astonished, shouted: ”Hey, Young Ye, what are you doing? Are you practicing wrestling? I know you have thick skin, but tumbling like that, doesn’t it hurt? Did something hit you so hard that you’re now so disheartened, wandering like a headless fly?”
