Urban Martial Saint

Ye Qing jumped into the three-meter central zone, and as expected, the Giant Axe Han and Long Halberd Han stopped chasing him. Both stood at the edge of the three-meter zone, brandishing their weapons at Ye Qing with clear anger in their expressions. Undoubtedly, if Ye Qing approached them, they would immediately chop him to pieces. However, they were unable to cross into this central zone and could only watch Ye Qing stand there.

Ye Qing stood there with a mindset of just giving it a try, and unexpectedly, it worked. This discovery brought a sigh of relief but also added more confusion in his heart.

Looking at the situation of these two men, although their height was strange, their bodies had no other peculiarities; they seemed quite human. But how had they existed in this cave for thousands of years? Moreover, there was no barrier around them, nor were there any ropes binding them; in theory, they could easily step into the central zone where Ye Qing stood. But why didn’t they attack Ye Qing in this central zone? Could there be some restriction preventing them from entering?

Ye Qing stood up and walked back and forth twice within the central zone without noticing anything special. It was just a spacious open area that one could step into with ease. Why didn’t the two men dare to come over?

With this doubt in mind, Ye Qing took a deep breath and suddenly jumped into the area where the Long Halberd Han was stationed. Since there seemed to be nothing special about the open area, was there perhaps some seal at the edge? Ye Qing had run back and forth a few times in haste without carefully noticing. Taking this risky leap was to test if there was any seal at the edge.

As soon as Ye Qing jumped over the edge, the Long Halberd Han appeared to be provoked and immediately swung his long halberd at Ye Qing. However, Ye Qing was already prepared. As soon as he jumped over, he quickly leaped back to the central zone. This way, the long halberd couldn’t strike him, while he crossed the edge twice. Yet, despite crossing twice, he felt nothing; the edge seemed to have no special feature at all, not like there was a seal.

”What on earth is going on?” Ye Qing was even more puzzled; why did these two men not dare to step over the edge if there was no seal?

Ye Qing carefully observed the two men, noting that they were only angrily brandishing their weapons at the edge without daring to overstep. It seemed as if an invisible wall was blocking them, which was very strange. He couldn’t figure out what was happening.

Having encountered too many inexplicable things in this cave, Ye Qing was somewhat numb. Since he couldn’t discern the specific reason and couldn’t kill these two men, Ye Qing simply ignored them. Since the two men couldn’t cross into the central zone, it was safest for Ye Qing to walk through it. He stood up and traversed the central zone, heading deeper into the cave.

After only a few steps, a gust of wind rushed towards him. Already on guard, Ye Qing immediately sidestepped to avoid it. Looking up, he saw another man wielding a Giant Sword, swinging it towards him.

With his prior experience, Ye Qing didn’t confront the man head-on but stepped back a few steps. Based on the previous men’s behavior, Ye Qing surmised that this man likely also had a range of activity. Therefore, he just needed to retreat out of the edge.

Indeed, as Ye Qing predicted, after retreating over two meters, the man ceased to pursue and instead stood at the edge, swinging his longsword, much like the previous two. Evidently, this area was the man’s boundary, and standing outside meant he needn’t worry about the man rushing out.

Encountering three such men in succession increased Ye Qing’s curiosity about the cave. Just then, the Japan’s Ninja and the Church’s people also entered the cave. Their flashlight beams illuminated the entire cave, allowing Ye Qing to clearly see its situation.

Before, the dim light had prevented Ye Qing from seeing clearly; he hadn’t even glimpsed the men during their attacks. Now that the light was strong, the surroundings came into full view. A quick glance made Ye Qing gasp, for the cave was full of such men, all over three meters tall, wielding massive weapons. Most stood motionless while those nearest to Ye Qing brandished their weapons as if preparing to kill him. At a glance, there were about thirty to forty such men, making the huge cave feel like a land of giants, utterly astounding.

The Church members and Japan’s Ninja, too, were equally shocked. Clearly, the Church people didn’t recognize these tall men’s origins, staring wide-eyed at everything in the cave.

Ye Qing had assumed the Church members would recognize these men, and upon seeing their ignorance, he breathed a slight sigh of relief. At least, these men likely had no ties with the Church. Reflecting, the sculptures he shattered and the Werewolf he killed were closely related to the Church. But with these men having no Church ties, his three internal forces ceased to assist him. Could it be that those forces only helped him against the Church?

This thought barely bubbled up before Ye Qing dismissed it. Previously, he had clashed with the Church’s group led by the Great Lord, yet the internal forces didn’t activate against them. Hence these forces’ strange actions within the cave weren’t solely due to the Church; Ye Qing remained unable to contend with the Church’s people, instead hoping the Japan’s Ninja and the Church’s people would mutually exhaust each other.

”Ye Qing, what’s going on? Who are these people?” the Great Elder asked loudly, deeply surprised at the towering men, even more than at the Werewolves earlier. After all, in his long life he had already encountered the Werewolves through past dealings with the Church, but never men like these.

”I don’t know either,” Ye Qing replied honestly, as he himself was curious and had no way to answer the Great Elder.

Before the Great Elder could ask more, a Ninja by his side accidentally stepped into the Giant Axe Han’s range at the entrance. Before the Ninja could jump out, the Giant Axe Han struck with an axe.

This Ninja was a Peak Master, holding a Famed Instrument. Seeing no escape, he raised his Famed Instrument to block the axe. However, his Famed Instrument broke as if an ordinary weapon against the Giant Axe, which continued its momentum to cleave the Ninja in two, resulting in a gruesome death!

”Fifth Brother!” the Great Elder cried, too late to save him. Eyeing the formidable Giant Axe Han, he dared not approach to retrieve the Ninja’s corpse, his expression dark with worry.

The Church people had been locked in an evenly matched battle with them, but now losing one decreased their combat power by twenty percent, likely tipping them to the losing side.

The Church team, however, exuded excitement. The Great Lord warned, ”Be careful, don’t get close to these giants!”

This advice was almost unnecessary; the Church members dared not approach the Giant Axe Han, yearning instead to be further away.

Seeing the Ninja’s gruesome death left Ye Qing equally shaken. He understood the Ninja’s strength, surviving against the Church so far attested to his high-ranking status among Peak Masters. Yet he couldn’t block even a single blow from the Giant Axe Han, an intimidating display of strength. If all the men in the cave matched the Giant Axe Han’s prowess, it would be catastrophic. A force of such men could sweep across the world!

Now, Ye Qing could only be grateful for the three forces protecting him, rendering him impervious. Without them, he might have died here upon entry.

Taking advantage of the light, Ye Qing surveyed the cave further. A glance revealed something shocking.

Ye Qing had primarily focused on the three or four dozen towering men, paying little attention to the surroundings. A closer look now revealed the cave floor littered with bones!

Ye Qing had encountered numerous bones in the outer cave, as Fu Qingping claimed, belonging mostly to Peak Masters, even many beyond peerless masters. Seeing bones again here unsettled Ye Qing’s heart. What strength had they possessed in life? And how did their bones come to rest here? Could they be victims of these towering men?
