Urban Martial Saint

The Church here is led by the Great Lord. It seems like his body hasn’t recovered yet, as his face is still extremely pale. However, after witnessing him single-handedly battle Fu Qingping and The Immortal Lord just now, who would dare underestimate his power?

Although using the Forbidden Move comes at a great cost, once unleashed, no one in this cave can match him. Furthermore, those around him from the Church are all peak masters. Even if the Great Lord can no longer use the Forbidden Move, their current strength alone is not weaker than that group of Japanese ninjas.

Moreover, the most puzzling thing for Ye Qing is that this batch of the Church’s people also entered this cave, and quite a few werewolves passed by them. Yet, not a single werewolf attacked them, nor did they even look at them, as if they were transparent, which made Ye Qing even more curious. It also reminded him of the situation he witnessed in the Meng District.

During the emergence of the Sun Shooting Bow, it was also the first time Ye Qing encountered people from the Church. Before that, he had no idea about the Church’s strength and did not even know they had masters. That occasion gave him insight into the Church’s power and revealed the grievances between the Church and Huaxia. What surprised Ye Qing the most was the Church’s people. When he was in the Meng District, he found them all very peculiar. Some of them were quite similar to the Great Lord, with pale complexions, unusually long nails, and emerging fangs. However, these weren’t the strangest; the most bizarre were a few who looked like wolves, those who hunted the wolf packs on the grassland.

Ye Qing didn’t think much when he saw the werewolves in the cave. But seeing these werewolves avoiding the Church people and not showing any intent to attack them made him recall those individuals who resembled wolves. Although those people differed greatly from the werewolves in the cave, their appearances were strikingly similar, all having human bodies with wolf heads and covered in fur. Moreover, those wolf-like individuals had extremely close ties with the Church, forcing Ye Qing to connect these two phenomena.

The Church also has wolf-headed, human-bodied monsters, and the werewolves in the cave are similar creatures. The fact that the werewolves in the cave do not attack the Church’s people raises suspicions about whether the werewolves here have any connection to the wolf-headed monsters with the Church.

While Ye Qing pondered these questions, the Great Lord pointed at him and stood up, with two people from the Church rushing towards Ye Qing. Judging by the posture, they were just waiting for a chance to capture Ye Qing.

It’s no wonder the Great Lord ended up in this predicament because of Ye Qing. Seeing Ye Qing, the Great Lord’s desire for revenge is completely understandable. What’s more, Ye Qing is involved with the Buddha’s Relic and the Healing Holy Medicine. Naturally, the Great Lord wants to capture Ye Qing to seize these items completely. Then, he can slowly kill Ye Qing to avenge his previous anguish.

Actually, not only did the Church’s people see Ye Qing, but also the group of Japanese ninjas spotted Ye Qing and his companions. However, when they saw Ye Qing and his companions, their expressions were clearly a bit excited, especially the leading Great Elder. While dodging attacks from a few nearby werewolves, he yelled: ”Ye Qing, Fu Qingping, help me deal with these werewolves, and I’ll release Huangfu Ziyu. Otherwise, you can prepare to collect Huangfu Ziyu’s corpse!”

Hearing this, Ye Qing couldn’t help but be hugely furious. In such a situation, the Great Elder still threatened them; doesn’t he realize how severely injured Fu Qingping is and that he can’t fight?

This thought flashed through Ye Qing’s mind, triggering another question: do the Great Elder and his group of Japanese ninjas really not know what’s happening outside?

The Great Elder’s group entered the Tomb of Ghost Valley Master first and threatened Ye Qing and Fu Qingping to stand guard outside, thus allowing them to conveniently search for items within the Tomb of Ghost Valley Master. As for the situation outside the cave, they definitely are unaware. The question is, did the two Japanese ninjas who entered later inform them of what happened outside?

Ye Qing glanced at the two Japanese ninjas who remained only as skeletons in the distance—these two were originally stationed outside to monitor him and Fu Qingping. Upon entering the Tomb of Ghost Valley Master, these two faced the first attacks and died at the hands of werewolves in the cave. During their deaths, Ye Qing didn’t hear any other noises, which was very odd.

If these two ninjas had come out along with the Great Elder’s group, encountering such danger would have probably prompted the Great Elder’s group to shout for help, even if unable to save them. However, Ye Qing didn’t hear a peep, and when the Great Elder’s group appeared, they used flashlights, indicating they were unaware of the situation within the cave and hadn’t heard the two ninjas’ cries. So, these two ninjas entered the cave separately from the Great Elder’s group, meaning they never met.

Since these two ninjas didn’t encounter the Great Elder’s group, naturally, they couldn’t inform them of what happened outside. Thus, the Great Elder’s group is unaware of the events outside the cave, including the Church’s overwhelming power, and don’t know that Fu Qingping is injured and unable to fight. Hence, the Great Elder used Huangfu Ziyu to threaten Ye Qing, wanting Fu Qingping’s help against the werewolves.

The Great Elder and his group of Japanese ninjas don’t know what happened outside, nor do they understand the Church’s true power, plus there’s a language barrier hindering communication. This is something leverageable.

The Church’s people initially chased after Ye Qing and his group, prompting Ye Qing to plan on fleeing with Fu Qingping and Wen’er into the chosen Gate of Life to see if they could escape. But now, having gotten this information, he suddenly senses an opportunity. At least, he has a chance to strive for the artifacts within the Tomb of Ghost Valley Master!

”Great Elder, you said you’d release Huangfu Ziyu; stick to your word!” Ye Qing shouted in reply.

When Ye Qing said this, his tone carried excitement and anger, seemingly convinced by the Great Elder’s words, which was precisely the effect the Great Elder desired. He shouted back, ”Of course, I’ll do as I say. If you help me deal with these werewolves, I’ll release Huangfu Ziyu!”

”Alright!” Ye Qing shouted back, ”Leave these werewolves to me!”

Saying this, Ye Qing gently patted Wen’er, whispering: ”Help Grandmaster over there to the mouth of the cave. Hide there for now. If there’s danger, immediately enter the cave; if not, don’t go in yet, understand?”

The place Ye Qing pointed Wen’er to was the position of the Gate of Life. Given the situation where Fu Qingping is injured and unable to fight and Wen’er can’t handle the werewolves, Ye Qing certainly wouldn’t let them take risks here. Directing them to the Gate of Life was a necessary step, as Ye Qing couldn’t ensure their safety.

”Ye, don’t be fooled by this group of Japanese ninjas. They don’t keep their promises!” Wen’er, unaware of Ye Qing’s thoughts, quickly cautioned him: ”Don’t help them; even if you do, they will never release Miss Huangfu. My mother is an example!”

The Great Elder felt embarrassed heard Wen’er’s words and quickly shouted: ”Ye Qing, I swear on my life, if you help us with these werewolves, I will release Huangfu Ziyu. If I don’t, may I die a horrible death!”

”Even his oath is not trustworthy; Ye, don’t believe him!” Wen’er shouted back, wholly distrusting the Japanese ninjas.

With his back to the Japanese group, Ye Qing slightly shook his head at Wen’er, signaling her to remain silent, then shouted: ”No matter what, I must try. Great Elder, remember your words. If I help you with the werewolves and you don’t release Zi Yu, I will not spare you!”

”Rest assured, I will do as I say!” The Great Elder shouted back with excitement, eagerly awaiting Fu Qingping’s action. Although the werewolves’ strength isn’t as acme-level, their movements are too swift, and they are numerous. Remaining under siege like this is certainly a death sentence; they must swiftly change the situation.

Wen’er initially wanted to speak, but seeing Ye Qing’s expression, she knew he must have a plan, and simply murmured: ”Ye, take care of yourself!”

Ye Qing nodded, seeing the Church’s people drawing near, hurriedly whispered: ”Quickly go, enter that stone gate if there’s danger, keep going forward, don’t look back, I’ll come find you!”

Wen’er bit her lip, refraining from saying more, and started running towards the Gate of Life with Fu Qingping.

With the Church’s people about to rush over, they heard Ye Qing and the Great Elder yelling, but couldn’t understand their exchange. However, they didn’t care about these details. In this cave, they had the geographic advantage; capturing Ye Qing seemed the most suitable move.

As the Church approached within a hundred meters of Ye Qing, the light from the flare gradually faded, plunging the cave back into darkness.

Ye Qing had been waiting for this opportunity. He quickly turned and sprinted towards the Japanese ninjas. Of course, the Great Elder shouted a few times, but then a few people switched on their flashlights. Though not as effective as the flares, they managed to make their surroundings visible.
