Urban Martial Saint

After listening to Fu Qingping’s words, Ye Qing admired him even more. He nodded and said, ”If Master Gong is interested, once I finish dealing with some small matters here, I’ll tell you all about the Buddha’s Relic, how about that?”

”That would be best.” Fu Qingping was delighted and said, ”There’s no rush with this. You handle your matters first; it’s not like I’ll die anytime soon.”

Fu Qingping’s words made Ye Qing laugh. This Master Gong was not only serene but also optimistic and had a rather amusing way of speaking. Compared to other reclusive experts, this person truly commanded respect as a senior.

In the evening, just after Ye Qing finished dinner, he received a call from Li Changshan, saying he had returned to Shenchuan City. Li Changshan’s anxious tone made it seem like he was genuinely concerned about Li Bing’en. However, Ye Qing was now more cautious of him and definitely wouldn’t be easily fooled.

Ye Qing didn’t waste words with Li Changshan, telling him that Li Bing’en was recovering at the Hong Alliance Seven Helmsman Manor and urged him to come quickly. For some reason, Li Bing’en seemed overly confident. Upon receiving Ye Qing’s message, he rushed to the manor without a moment’s hesitation or suspicion.

If Ye Qing hadn’t already confirmed that Li Changshan was behind this, he might have doubted his own judgment. Li Changshan’s response was so swift and clean that it was hard to suspect him.

Ye Qing waited in the manor for about an hour before Li Changshan arrived. He drove a white SUV, parked it outside Ye Qing’s courtyard, and hurried inside. As soon as he entered, he anxiously asked Ye Qing, ”Where’s Bing’en? How is he doing?”

Ye Qing sat alone in the middle of the living room, quietly watching Li Changshan without answering his questions. Li Changshan looked very worried; he rushed towards Ye Qing, urgently saying, ”Answer me! How is Bing’en doing now?”

”I don’t know how he’s doing,” Ye Qing replied, looking at Li Changshan, ”because I haven’t found him yet.”

”You haven’t found him?” Li Changshan stared at Ye Qing in astonishment, ”Didn’t you call me earlier saying you found him? And you also said he was seriously injured. Are you lying to me?”

”I’m sorry, I lied to you, Uncle. But...” Ye Qing stared at Li Changshan, ”Uncle, didn’t you also lie to me?”

Li Changshan was slightly taken aback, and after a moment of silence, he said sternly, ”I lied to you? What did I lie to you about?”

Ye Qing said, ”Uncle, I should have told you about my grievances with the Purple Robe Lama before.”

Li Changshan’s expression changed slightly, ”You did tell me, but what about it?”

Ye Qing spoke solemnly, ”Uncle, did you know? The hundreds of children that the Purple Robe Lama was after have all been killed recently.”

”This happened?” Li Changshan exclaimed, ”Who killed them? Has it been found out who did this?”

”Not many people could do this, and it definitely has to do with the internal staff of my orphanage,” Ye Qing said. ”Only the orphanage has the list of those children. For safety, I had the employees destroy the list last time. Not many people truly knew the contents of that list, so it won’t be difficult to investigate.”

”Then... then did you find out who it was?” Li Changshan asked.

Ye Qing looked at Li Changshan and sighed softly, ”Uncle, shouldn’t you also have this list?”

”Why would I have this list?” Li Changshan immediately said, ”I’m not staff at the orphanage, I’ve never even seen it. How could I have it?”

”Uncle, I already know everything. At this point, there’s no need to hide from me anymore,” said Ye Qing solemnly. ”Uncle, not only do you have the list of these children, but you also personally killed more than a dozen of them!”

”What... what are you saying?” Li Changshan, like a cat whose tail had been stepped on, jumped up angrily, staring at Ye Qing. ”How dare you say such a thing? Do you really think your uncle would do something like that? Do you really think I’m that kind of person?”

”Honestly, I didn’t want to believe it, but...” Ye Qing sighed deeply, ”based on the data we’ve gathered, I have no choice but to believe it.”

”What do you mean by that?” Li Changshan frowned, staring at Ye Qing as he spoke in a deep voice, ”Ye Qing, I’m your uncle, how could you suspect me like this?”

Ye Qing said, ”This is not a guess; there is evidence.”

”Evidence?” Li Changshan’s face turned cold, and he said sternly, ”I don’t know where you got this so-called evidence, but it has nothing to do with me. Ye Qing, I’m your uncle, and you distrust me like this? You’re really disappointing me!”

”Uncle, you’ve also let me down.” Ye Qing quietly looked at Li Changshan, ”Uncle, where’s that black fuzzy coat of yours? Why aren’t you wearing it today? Is it because it’s too stained with blood, so you threw it away?”

This made Li Changshan slightly flustered, and he hurriedly replied, ”What... what black fuzzy coat... I don’t even have a black fuzzy coat, what nonsense are you talking about?”

”Uncle, at this point, how long do you intend to argue? Look at what this is!” Ye Qing casually pulled out a sealed plastic bag from his person, which had a clear view of its contents from the outside. The bag was filled with black fuzz, seemingly torn from some clothing.

Li Changshan looked at the black fuzz with surprise, ”What is that stuff?”

”This is the evidence I mentioned earlier...” Ye Qing said, ”This was found at the crime scene, fuzz from the clothing worn by the perpetrator, collected by the investigators.”

Li Changshan’s eyes showed some panic, but he quickly regained his composure. Clearing his throat, he looked at the plastic bag in Ye Qing’s hand and said sternly, ”Ye Qing, this is what you call evidence? I don’t know if this can even be considered evidence. Even if it is real evidence, what does it have to do with me? I don’t own such clothes. I don’t know who misled you, but you find some random fuzz and can actually suspect me?”

”Uncle, do you know how advanced modern science and technology have become?” Ye Qing said, ”The clothes you wear can pick up metabolic byproducts from your body. These byproducts are mostly flakes of skin, carrying human DNA that can be scientifically tested.”

At this, Ye Qing stopped speaking and quietly watched Li Changshan. The subsequent words didn’t need to be said.

Li Changshan was stunned; his expression turned grotesque from the initial shock. After a long pause, he suddenly leaped forward, stepping right in front of Ye Qing. He grabbed Ye Qing by the throat with one hand and jabbed his other hand into the latter’s vital point on his back, speaking coldly, ”Don’t scream, or I’ll kill you!”

Ye Qing sighed, looking at Li Changshan, and asked in a low voice, ”Why?”

”Hmph, why?” Li Changshan gritted his teeth and said, ”It’s simple. Killing those children would bring trouble from the Purple Robe Lama, and Hong Alliance Seven Rudders would help you deal with him!”

”I’m not asking about that. I’m asking why you did this,” Ye Qing said, ”Was Master not good enough to you? Why poison him?”

”You... you even know about that?” Li Changshan looked shocked and incredulous, staring at Ye Qing.

Ye Qing was only speculating, but hearing Li Changshan’s response confirmed the truth. With a deep sigh, Ye Qing felt his last flicker of faith in Li Changshan shatter. If Li Changshan could poison Li Changqing, it proved how dangerously destructive he was.

”So what if you know?” Li Changshan gritted his teeth, ”Yes, I did it. I poisoned him, but I have no regrets. Why should he get to be the family head while I remain in his shadow? Everyone knows Li Changqing from the Li Family—who knows me, Li Changshan? In the Li Family, everyone respects him, listens to him. Who ever paid attention to me, Li Changshan? As long as he’s alive, I’ll always be under his heel, be his subordinate. I’m unwilling!”

Ye Qing looked at Li Changshan, whose expression was now twisted with rage. At this moment, Ye Qing truly saw his other side; this person had hidden it deeply. Who would have thought that it was Li Changqing’s own brother who poisoned the Northern Fist King Li Changqing years ago?

”Uncle, I used to respect you,” Ye Qing slowly shook his head, ”but I won’t anymore.”

”****, do I need your respect?” Li Changshan said coldly, ”With Li Changqing dead, I’ll be the family head of the Li family. Then I can control everything. Who in the Li family would dare disrespect me or defy my orders?”

”Is that why you poisoned and killed your own brother for the so-called respect and status?” Ye Qing said solemnly.

”What do you know?” Li Changshan gritted his teeth, ”In the battle to achieve greatness, bones will be piled high. He can’t blame me. If there’s anyone to blame, it’s his excellence that stole all my glory. If he doesn’t die, I’ll remain mediocre forever. Only in his death can I claim what should have been mine!”
