Urban Martial Saint

Inside the manor, Ye Qing and the Purple Robe Lama were still sitting in the room, while Helian Tiehua had also hurried over.

Ye Qing hadn’t initially notified Helian Tiehua about this matter, only the Purple Robe Lama, given the close connection it had with him.

However, after learning about it, the Purple Robe Lama personally brought Helian Tiehua over.

Helian Tiehua had no idea what was happening here; upon entering the room, he saw Li Changshan, who had been dead on the floor for quite some time, and was greatly astonished.

”What’s going on?” Helian Tiehua looked closer at Li Changshan’s face, even more shocked, saying, ”Isn’t he Li Changshan? Brother Li San’s younger brother, what... what happened to him?”

”He’s dead,” Ye Qing said in a low voice. Although the matter had been thoroughly investigated and previous misunderstandings resolved, seeing Li Changshan dead here oddly saddened him. The branch of the Li Family left by Third Master Li was thoroughly finished.

”How did he die?” Helian Tiehua frowned and said solemnly, ”Who killed him? Where did you find him?”

”He committed suicide!” the Purple Robe Lama recounted the events just now, and Helian Tiehua was unaware of the children being murdered. After hearing the Purple Robe Lama’s words, he was also greatly shocked, because even he hadn’t expected such a close connection between events twenty years ago and Li Changshan.

”I really didn’t expect that Brother Li San was killed by his own brother’s poison!” Helian Tiehua sighed and said, ”Brother Li San, a hero in his lifetime, yet his name was destroyed by his own people, even losing his life. Ah, the pursuit of fame and fortune really harms people; even brothers can turn against each other!”

”This matter is closely associated with the Twelve Green Halls!” the Purple Robe Lama said solemnly. ”Although Brahmanism had no intention to get involved in the grievances between the Seven Steering Committees of Hong Alliance and the Twelve Green Halls, what they have done is despicable, not only sowing discord between Brahmanism and the Seven Steering Committees, but also attempting to destroy our thousand-year foundation. I will definitely not let them off easily.”

Ye Qing was perplexed, unsure why the Purple Robe Lama had come to Huaxia. Naturally, he didn’t understand what the thousand-year foundation meant. In fact, even Helian Tiehua didn’t know the purpose of the Purple Robe Lama’s visit. After all, every True Buddha incarnation had appeared in Tianzhu, not in Huaxia. No one anticipated that the Purple Robe Lama’s visit was to find the Reincarnated True Buddha.

If he knew about this, Ye Qing would surely first think of Broom Star. Broom Star’s situation genuinely matched that of the Reincarnated True Buddha. However, to protect the safety of the True Buddha, the Purple Robe Lama kept the secret hidden, so Ye Qing and Helian Tiehua knew nothing of his true purpose.

Yet, the Purple Robe Lama’s words were exhilarating to Helian Tiehua. Initially, the Seven Steering Committees of Hong Alliance were slightly weaker in the confrontation with the Twelve Green Halls. If the Purple Robe Lama were willing to oppose the Twelve Green Halls, it would be a great boon for the Seven Steering Committees.

”Venerable, have you really decided to take revenge on the Twelve Green Halls?” Helian Tiehua asked in a low voice, despite feeling exhilarated. ”The Twelve Green Halls are aggressive and strong. If a war were to break out, I fear it might engulf Brahmanism. Venerable, you must consider carefully!”

Helian Tiehua’s words made Ye Qing admire him even more. Bear in mind that Helian Tiehua was in dire need of help from the Seven Steering Committees to counter the Twelve Green Halls. Logically, if the Purple Robe Lama wanted to confront them, he should have agreed immediately. Yet, he still advised caution, showing his upright character, not someone who would seize opportunities at the expense of others.

”This conflict has long since reached Brahmanism!” the Purple Robe Lama said coldly. ”I didn’t intend to interfere in your affairs upon coming to Huaxia. However, with the Twelve Green Halls being so aggressive, if I refrain from acting, who knows what more overreaching actions they might take!”

Being naturally hot-tempered, and having come to Huaxia to find the Reincarnated True Buddha without any success, not even the supposedly Reincarnated True Buddha children were spared, the Purple Robe Lama was fully enraged, hence his decisive opposition to the Twelve Green Halls. In reality, without even considering the potential True Buddha among the children, the mere fact that the Twelve Green Halls murdered so many children just to provoke animosity between him and the Seven Steering Committees was infuriating enough. And with the Reincarnated True Buddha involved, he couldn’t possibly endure it.

Furthermore, the Purple Robe Lama understood that if he remained passive against the Twelve Green Halls’ actions, they would likely continue their schemes. Hence, he must assert his power to deter them, showing Brahmanism is not easily bullied, thereby ensuring their non-hostility towards Brahmanism in the future. His actions were essentially to protect the Reincarnated True Buddha and Brahmanism.

Helian Tiehua nodded and refrained from further advising the Purple Robe Lama, saying: ”Since Venerable insists, then I won’t say more. If you require assistance, please let me know. In dealing with the Twelve Green Halls, the Seven Steering Committees of Hong Alliance and Brahmanism stand united!”

”I’ve heard that the Four Halls within the Twelve Green Halls have already entered Huaxia and have clashed with Patriarch Huangfu from the Seven Steering Committees,” the Purple Robe Lama said solemnly. ”Moreover, Ning Qianshu has followed the Four Halls into Huaxia. This matter commenced with Ning Qianshu, so it must conclude with him. General Helian, please inform Patriarch Huangfu that Ning Qianshu will be dealt with by me. Tomorrow, I will personally confront Ning Qianshu!”

Clearly, the Purple Robe Lama had already made arrangements and targeted Ning Qianshu, indicating focused action. Since Li Changshan acted on Ning Qianshu’s orders, the responsibility lay with Ning Qianshu, and naturally, the Purple Robe Lama needed to settle the score with him.

Ye Qing sat nearby, observing the Purple Robe Lama’s impassioned demeanor, yet feeling increasingly uneasy. Even with the Purple Robe Lama aiding Huangfu Ziyu against the Twelve Green Halls, Ye Qing felt something seemed amiss. He couldn’t pinpoint exactly what was wrong, considering Li Changshan died right there, deceiving them with his life.

The Purple Robe Lama was indeed true to his words; he departed early the next morning from Shenchuan City to assist Huangfu Ziyu against the Twelve Green Halls. Yet, he went alone, without the Brahmanism monks. Despite his fiery temper, he knew how to prioritize. Avenging Ning Qianshu and deterring the Twelve Green Halls was crucial, but such matters were manageable alone. Meanwhile, the monks continued seeking the True Buddha, their main mission in Huaxia.

Before leaving, the Purple Robe Lama released all staff from the orphanage, allowing Ye Qing to finally explain the situation to them. Upon knowing they were safe and seeing their colleagues released unharmed, their apprehensions vanished. Those previously afraid to return to work returned immediately, restoring normalcy to the orphanage.

Of course, regarding the Purple Robe Lama’s confrontation with the Twelve Green Halls, although Ye Qing felt uneasy, he didn’t dissuade him. Given Huangfu Ziyu’s dangerous confrontation with the formidable Four Halls, the Purple Robe Lama’s assistance in alleviating pressure reassured Ye Qing.

That morning, after breakfast, Ye Qing first visited the secret chamber where Broom Star was secluded. Broom Star had been sitting there for nearly ten days without food or water, and the purple flames on his body hadn’t extinguished. Yet, despite the lack of nourishment, Broom Star appeared unaffected, which Ye Qing found astonishing.

This time, Ye Qing didn’t disturb Broom Star; he didn’t dare approach him. The Purple Lotus Karma Fire was extremely sensitive to his internal Devouring Demon Flower’s power. Approaching Broom Star could trigger the Buddha’s Relic within him, posing a danger. He had previously experienced this sensation, and had no desire to endure it again.

After leaving Broom Star’s chamber, Ye Qing went to Fu Qingping’s yard. Fu Qingping had previously suggested discussing the Buddha’s Relic matters during leisure time. With the children’s issues resolved and the orphanage’s arrangements settled, Ye Qing now found the time to chat with his master.

Ye Qing entered the yard and saw Fu Qingping practicing swordsmanship. His approach was unique; holding the Qingping Sword, he didn’t unsheathe it, moving slowly, like the elderly practicing Tai Chi Fist in the park. To be honest, one wouldn’t expect such terrifying power from this swordsmanship just by watching.

Ye Qing had seen Fu Qingping in action before, fully understanding the extraordinary prowess of his master’s swordsmanship. Observing Fu Qingping now, he didn’t interrupt but keenly studied his master’s techniques, hoping to learn something beneficial.
