Urban Martial Saint

Fu Qingping’s longsword was caught between Sky-Killing Master’s palms. Instead of showing any panic or surprise, he merely smiled slightly and said softly, ”The sword hasn’t been drawn, and you can use both hands to block this strike. But if my sword were out of the scabbard, could you still block it?”

As soon as he said this, Sky-Killing Master’s expression suddenly froze, and his previous smile immediately turned rigid.

Yes, Fu Qingping’s sword wasn’t drawn yet; it was just the scabbard that he could catch with his hands. But if Fu Qingping unsheathed the longsword and thrust it forward, it would be the sword and not the scabbard coming at him. Could he still block that strike?

A sword scabbard and a longsword are two entirely different things!

The Fu Qingping using the sword and the Fu Qingping using the sword scabbard are also two different concepts. Being able to counter Fu Qingping with just the scabbard doesn’t mean he could counter Fu Qingping using the sword. There remains a disparity in strength between him and Fu Qingping!

Just as Sky-Killing Master was shaken, Fu Qingping chuckled softly again and said, ”Be careful now.”

Sky-Killing Master was slightly startled and looked down at Fu Qingping. At this moment, Fu Qingping’s right hand gently twitched on the sword’s hilt. With this movement, the longsword was suddenly twisted, and the sword scabbard began to spin within Sky-Killing Master’s palms. Caught off guard for a moment, Sky-Killing Master had the longsword with its scabbard snatched back by Fu Qingping.

Sky-Killing Master’s expression changed, and instinctively, he wanted to retreat. Fu Qingping’s previous words had already started to unsettle him. If Fu Qingping unsheathed his sword, there would really be no way to fight.

Fortunately, Fu Qingping still did not draw his sword this time. He continued holding the sword hilt, with the sword scabbard facing outward, and casually made a sweeping motion. The sword scabbard drew a crescent shape, sweeping towards Sky-Killing Master.

Though Fu Qingping’s moves seemed casual, the technique was extremely exquisite. Moreover, all of these were clever moves using the sword, suggesting that this was indeed his Green Duckweed Sword Technique.

Seeing that Fu Qingping did not draw his sword, Sky-Killing Master felt somewhat reassured. He took heed of the previous lesson and no longer dodged, but instead used all his strength to block. The sword hitting the inside of the scabbard had no sharpness to it. Sky-Killing Master blocked several strikes with his arms and was able to fend off Fu Qingping’s second move. However, Fu Qingping still did not draw his sword, continuing to compete against Sky-Killing Master using the sword scabbard. Even so, he had Sky-Killing Master overwhelmed and flustered. Undoubtedly, if Fu Qingping had drawn the Qingping Sword, Sky-Killing Master would likely have become a dead Sky-Killing Master long ago.

While Sky-Killing Master was getting beaten back by Fu Qingping in successive defeats, the situation of his other three brothers was not much better. Among them, Executioner Scholar’s situation was the best; his strength was, after all, the strongest, managing to fight to a standstill with Bloody Monk.

This battle left Executioner Scholar very unsatisfied. When they came down the mountain this time, they completely underestimated the younger generation and thus behaved so arrogantly. He never expected that Bloody Monk, this junior, could match him evenly, strength for strength. They fought for such a long time, and Executioner Scholar didn’t gain any advantage but almost suffered a loss because he was previously looking after Sky-Killing Master. This made him even more shocked at Bloody Monk’s strength.

As for Snake Gentleman, he initially managed to hold his ground against Helian Tiehua by relying on his venomous snakes. However, as Helian Tiehua deployed the hard kung fu of the Thirteen Protectors’ Horizontal Golden Bell Shield, those venomous snakes had no effect on Helian Tiehua at all. As a result, Snake Gentleman was no match for Helian Tiehua, getting beaten back repeatedly with only a chance to defend and not the slightest room to counterattack.

Slaughter Venerable’s situation was somewhat better than Snake Gentleman and Sky-Killing Master’s; although he was also at a disadvantage, Wolf Monk, with his strength, would still need some effort to defeat him. However, seeing his three brothers struggle so hard around him, he too was filled with anxiety. At this rate, they were undoubtedly going to lose, and might even face losing their lives here.

Slaughter Venerable frowned deeply, engaging in a tangled fight with Wolf Monk while slowly retreating backward, inch by inch, toward Executioner Scholar’s direction.

Wolf Monk noticed Slaughter Venerable’s intention but couldn’t stop him. Slaughter Venerable was very powerful; while Wolf Monk held the upper hand, it was still a tough fight.

Slaughter Venerable slowly retreated to Executioner Scholar’s side, making the scene even more chaotic. Executioner Scholar seemed to understand Slaughter Venerable’s intention too, and he also slowly moved closer to Slaughter Venerable.

”Senior Brother, be cautious!” Wolf Monk warned sternly, ”These two are definitely planning something!”

Bloody Monk nodded. He had been on guard for a while now; there was no reason for those two to get closer for no reason. As they converged, they surely planned to pull off some trick.

However, after Executioner Scholar and Slaughter Venerable came together, they didn’t make any special moves, and continued battling against the two. This persisted for about five minutes, then Executioner Scholar suddenly gathered his energy and launched a full-force palm strike toward Bloody Monk.

Bloody Monk had been prepared and, seeing Executioner Scholar unleash his full strength, retreated immediately without saying a word. Wolf Monk had been waiting too; upon seeing Bloody Monk retreat, he followed suit to guard against any tricks these two might pull.

But just as they retreated, Executioner Scholar suddenly turned and, along with Slaughter Venerable, charged towards Helian Tiehua and Fu Qingping.

Upon seeing the situation, the Bloody Monk was enraged. Just a moment ago, he thought these two were up to something, and now he finally understood that these two were deliberately trying to intimidate them. The two walked together, not really doing anything, but applying psychological pressure before pretending to attack with full force, forcing them back. This way, they could escape to rescue the other two.

”Where do you think you’re going!” the Bloody Monk shouted, disregarding the distance between him and the Executioner Scholar. In a split second, he dashed over, raising his hand to strike at the Executioner Scholar’s back.

The Executioner Scholar completely ignored the Bloody Monk. He charged with full force towards Helian Tiehua, attacking his back.

Helian Tiehua sensed something wrong and saw the Executioner Scholar rushing towards him. He dared not be careless and quickly turned to the side to dodge. The Executioner Scholar did not pursue him further, forcing him back before quickly rushing over to pull the Snake Gentleman away several steps.

On the other side, the Slaughter Venerable did the same as the Executioner Scholar, attacking Fu Qingping in an attempt to rescue the Sky-Killing Master. However, Fu Qingping did not retreat; instead, he withdrew his sword scabbard to block the Slaughter Venerable’s attack. But this still bought time for the Sky-Killing Master, who simultaneously rushed to the Executioner Scholar’s side.

The Slaughter Venerable didn’t linger in battle either. After blocking Fu Qingping’s sword scabbard, he immediately dashed to the Executioner Scholar’s side. The entire process took less than a breath, and when the four of them gathered together, the Bloody Monk had yet to reach the Executioner Scholar’s side.

Helian Tiehua and the Wolf Monk also dashed over, preparing to block the four of them again. But at this moment, the Executioner Scholar had already taken out a white pellet from his body and slammed it to the ground. The white pellet exploded immediately upon impact, turning into a dense cloud of white smoke, obscuring everyone’s vision.

”Not good, they’re trying to escape!” the Wolf Monk shouted in a low voice, but in the thick smoke, he couldn’t see a thing.

At this moment, the Bloody Monk also charged into the smoke. He thrust his palms forward, and a muffled groan was heard from within the smoke, suggesting someone had been hit. However, the smoke was so dense that it was impossible to see who got hit, let alone where they were escaping to.

Just then, everyone suddenly heard the sound of a longsword being drawn, followed by Fu Qingping’s deep voice, ”Green Duckweed Emergence!”

Inside the smoke, everyone saw a flash of green light form an arc. Immediately after, a heartrending scream echoed, accompanied by the sound of something falling to the ground, and then there was silence.

No one dared linger in the smoke, hurriedly retreating from it. By this time, the four had already run far away and were out of sight.

”They actually have such tools for escape!” Helian Tiehua gnashed his teeth. Originally wanting to kill the Snake Gentleman to avenge his three subordinates, he ended up achieving nothing, leaving him very frustrated.

”Not eliminating them this time will surely bring endless troubles in the future!” the Wolf Monk said in a deep voice.

The Bloody Monk did not speak, standing silently as he watched Fu Qingping leisurely wiping the longsword in his hand nearby.

The other two also looked over, gazing at the sword shimmering with a green glow. Helian Tiehua couldn’t help but exclaim, ”Qingping Sword!”

The Bloody Monk and the Wolf Monk also stared at the longsword. Of course, they had heard of the Qingping Sword’s reputation. In that era, Fu Qingping’s Qingping Sword was very well-known. ”Green Duckweed Emergence Astonishes the World” was the praise for the Qingping Sword, and also for Fu Qingping. But did Fu Qingping’s Green Duckweed Emergence really astonish the world just now?

No one knew what effect the emergence of the Qingping Sword had, but seeing the bloodstains Fu Qingping was wiping off indicated that someone on the opposing side must have been injured. However, whether it was just a scratch or a serious wound was unknown.

Not long after, the white smoke gradually dissipated. Everyone looked towards the position of the smoke, and their expressions changed simultaneously. Because at the spot previously shrouded by the smoke, there lay an arm on the ground, covered in blood, clearly cut off just now. Moreover, the appearance of the arm was unmistakably that of the Sky-Killing Master’s — the sleeve was identical to his clothes.

Everyone glanced at the arm, then at the nearby Fu Qingping. Even the Bloody Monk was moved. In such dense smoke, where nothing was visible, Fu Qingping managed to sever an arm with a single stroke. If the smoke weren’t there to obstruct, could Fu Qingping have actually stopped someone?

”Green Duckweed Emergence Astonishes the World”, truly lived up to its reputation! This time, everyone finally witnessed Fu Qingping’s power and the might of the Qingping Sword.
