Urban Martial Saint

Ye Qing sighed, slowly shook his head, and looked at Fu Qingping, saying, ”Master, this isn’t about whether there’s danger. This time, Snake Gentleman and his four men went after Zi Yu, but next time, there might be others who want to deal with Zi Yu. The allure of the Buddha’s Relic is too great for people. As long as I’m here, someone will always have designs on the Buddha’s Relic, and someone will always target those around me!”

”Then what are you going to do?” Fu Qingping asked, ”Are you really planning to leave Shenchuan City? But have you thought about how you can leave given your current situation? Here with the Seven Steering Committees of Hong Alliance, you have their protection, at least you’re safe for now. But once you leave them, it will be more troublesome. If someone captures you, it won’t be just about the Buddha’s Relic anymore. If someone uses you to threaten Huangfu Ziyu, to threaten the Seven Steering Committees, or to threaten Sha Men, what then?”

What Fu Qingping said was exactly what Ye Qing was most worried about. However, it was also the main reason why Ye Qing wanted to leave Shenchuan City.

Before, the two methods that Old Wang Ba discussed with Ye Qing were not feasible, and Ye Qing dared not try the second method. However, the methods suggested by Old Wang Ba inspired Ye Qing. If he stayed in Shenchuan City, he would always be stuck there, living a life of cowardice. Moreover, as more and more hidden experts emerged, those around him would only be in greater danger. So, he absolutely could not stay in Shenchuan City; he had to find a way to change the current situation.

The two methods Old Wang Ba talked about were looking increasingly infeasible. But Ye Qing had his own method, which appeared to be more effective: entering the Demon Hideout Cave to find a Demon Pet and see if he could change his current situation. Ye Qing previously didn’t want to enter the Demon Hideout Cave because he feared being completely controlled by the power of the Devouring Demon Flower and becoming a person of the Demon Sect. But now, Ye Qing couldn’t worry about that anymore. Even Huangfu Ziyu had been injured, and those hidden experts were gradually targeting those around him. Ye Qing couldn’t just sit idly by; he had to find a way to change the current situation.

If he couldn’t protect those around him, those he loved, what was the point of living like this? If he could protect those he cared about, even if he turned into a demon, then so be it.

After contemplating for a while, Ye Qing looked at Fu Qingping and said, ”Master, can you do me another favor?”

”Ye Qing, I still think you should best not leave Shenchuan City,” Fu Qingping said, implying that if Ye Qing wanted help leaving, he wouldn’t assist.

”Master, I have to leave Shenchuan City!” Ye Qing paused for a moment and said, ”But don’t worry, I will definitely not be in danger, nor will anyone be able to capture me.”

”Really?” Fu Qingping’s face showed skepticism; he didn’t know about the Demon Hideout Cave, nor did he know what Ye Qing intended to do.

”Master, on my own, I definitely can’t get out of the manor. No matter where I go, I’ll surely be followed. But you are different, Master. With your strength, those hidden experts in Shenchuan City could never track you, nor would they dare. You could surely sneak me out quietly.” Ye Qing looked at Fu Qingping imploringly.

Fu Qingping furrowed his brows tightly and said in a deep voice, ”Ye Qing, this matter is not like the previous one. Even if I can silently get you out of Shenchuan City, what then? Paper can’t cover up fire. Those people outside will know you’ve left Shenchuan City. The world is big, but if they want to find you, they definitely can, no matter where you hide. The result is the same, do you understand?”

”It’s different!” Ye Qing slowly shook his head. He looked at Fu Qingping and said, ”I am confident that no one will find me!”

”How... how is that possible?” Fu Qingping was even more surprised and said, ”How could no one find you?”

Ye Qing replied, ”Master, I have my own way. As long as you help me leave Shenchuan City, I can hide so well that no one will find me, and I might even restore my strength!”

”Is it true?” Fu Qingping’s eyes widened. ”Your meridians are gone. How can you restore your strength? Even Bai Li Xi couldn’t do that; how do you plan to restore strength?”

”Master, I…” Ye Qing was about to speak when suddenly there was a hurried knocking at the door outside the courtyard.

”Who is it?” Fu Qingping turned to inquire.

”Is Ye here?” asked a man’s voice outside.

”I’m here, what’s the matter?” Ye Qing hurried out, his heart filled with anxiety. Could it be that something happened to Huangfu Ziyu?

Opening the door, Ye Qing saw a person from the Seven Steering Committees of Hong Alliance. This person looked anxious, and upon seeing Ye Qing, he immediately said, ”Ye, something happened, your… your brother has been killed…”

”What!?” Ye Qing’s expression changed dramatically, and he asked urgently, ”Which brother? Who killed him?”

”It seems to be someone called Hou San…” the man said, ”I don’t know him myself, the body has just been sent over. Ye, you’d better go and have a look.”

”Hou San?” Ye Qing was shocked and furious. This was a brother he had brought from his hometown, who followed him in difficult startups in Shenchuan City, a brother who went through life and death with him, one of his closest aides. Hou San had been killed? Ye Qing was extremely angry!

Hurriedly running back to his courtyard, he immediately saw Li Lianshan and others’ car parked there, with Chen Jun and others standing at the entrance. Most of these were brothers who came from his hometown with him, who also had good relations with Hou San. These people were full of anger, eyes red. Seeing Ye Qing coming, they quickly gathered around.

”Big Brother!” Chen Jun looked at Ye Qing, and as soon as he called out these two words, tears could not help but overflow, his voice trembling: ”Big Brother, you have to avenge Third Brother!”

”Big Brother, Third Brother died so tragically!” Da Fei was beside him as well, angrily saying, ”Whoever did it is too vicious. What kind of hatred did they have to do that to Third Brother… to Third Brother…”

Seeing Da Fei couldn’t continue, Ye Qing became anxious and asked, ”What happened to Third Brother?”

Chen Jun gritted his teeth and said, ”The one who did it... they skinned Third Brother…”

”What!?” Ye Qing staggered, almost collapsing to the ground. Hou San was dead; he couldn’t accept this fact. Who would have thought that Hou San died in such a tragic way, and the perpetrator was so insanely cruel?

After a moment of silence, Ye Qing suddenly rushed into the courtyard. Inside, Li Lianshan had brought a group of people standing there, their expressions also full of anger. Seeing Ye Qing enter, the crowd automatically parted, Li Lianshan sighed and walked over, softly saying, ”Ye Zi, my condolences.”

In the middle of the courtyard was a stretcher with a white cloth covering it, undoubtedly Hou San’s body. Ye Qing walked beside it, somewhat dazed, his hands trembling as he faced the blood-stained white cloth. This was the brother he lived and fought alongside, now nothing but a corpse!

Taking a deep breath, Ye Qing slowly uncovered the white cloth. Although he had just heard from Da Fei and Chen Jun about Hou San’s situation outside, seeing Hou San’s corpse now, Ye Qing still felt a chill all over, as if he had fallen into an ice cave, shivering with cold.

On the stretcher lied Hou San’s corpse. However, no one could recognize him now because his skin was gone, leaving only bloody flesh, looking very terrifying. His fists were tightly clenched, his teeth shattered, indicating that during the process, he was still alive. This meant that he had to endure the agony of being skinned alive, watching as his skin was peeled off bit by bit, the cruelest part of it!

Ye Qing slowly knelt by the stretcher and bowed three times towards Hou San’s body before gently covering the white cloth again. He took a deep breath and slowly turned his head towards Li Lianshan, asking word by word: ”Who did it!”

”I don’t know either.” Li Lianshan replied softly, ”However, they left a note…”

”Give it to me!” Ye Qing extended his hand, Li Lianshan hesitated but handed the note to Ye Qing.

Ye Qing took the note, only to find a line of words written in blood: Ye Qing, hand over the Buddha’s Relic and keep the peace. Otherwise, kill one brother a day; how many days can those around you last?

The note only had this line and no signature. Ye Qing looked at the handwriting, gritting his teeth with hatred while feeling extremely guilty. Because he understood why Hou San had been killed — it was because of him, because of the Buddha’s Relic!

At this moment, Ye Qing truly had the urge to die. The Buddha’s Relic was with him, and due to it, the Seven Steering Committees of Hong Alliance, Sha Men, and Huangfu Ziyu had been attacked. His brothers had also died so horribly because of the Buddha’s Relic; all of this was just because of the Buddha’s Relic!

Ye Qing had risked his life to obtain the Buddha’s Relic to deal with the Corpse Ghost Dragon and rid the world of harm. Who would have thought he’d risk his life only to end up with this outcome? These people, to obtain the Buddha’s Relic, committed such insane acts!

”Brother, rest in peace. I will definitely avenge you!” Ye Qing slowly put down the note, suddenly looking up, tears blurring his vision, nearly screaming in despair: ”I want to kill! Kill! Kill!”
