Chapter 144: Chapter 143: Game Dungeon: The Dangerous Horned Bee

Li You nodded. ”Of course. Just stand still. I’ll handle this. Don’t be afraid.”

”Okay. Thank you!”

Li You walked over, planning to flick the Horned Bee away with his bare hands.

With his current skills, this would be easy to do.

First, he had to get the Horned Bee away from Ye Shengge’s face. He’d worry about what came next later.

It was just a single Horned Bee. Li You didn’t think much of it.

He walked to Ye Shengge’s side, lightly raising his right hand, ready to strike.

But just then...

”A game instance can be generated based on the host’s current situation.

Instance Name: The Dangerous Horned Bee.

Mission: Defeat the Horned Bee.

Mission Reward: One lottery draw.

Enter game instance?”

Li You was overjoyed. A monster-type game instance had finally appeared again.

’Of course I’m going in!’

There was no need to hesitate.

Entering the game instance not only gave him a chance to get all sorts of things, but it would also solve the problem with the Horned Bee in front of him.

After defeating the Horned Bee in the game instance, the real one would surely leave quickly, just like that snake that had tried to eat the baby birds last time.

Although Horned Bees posed a certain threat to humans, they were actually beneficial insects that played a big role in controlling agricultural pests.

So, driving it away was the best option.

’Enter game instance.’

Li You made his choice.

Soon, his vision began to blur.

When it cleared again, Li You was inside the game instance.

Unsurprisingly, the location was the same as before, only his body had shrunk countless times over, and Ye Shengge was nowhere to be seen.

And the monster Horned Bee that was about to appear would surely be another behemoth.

’I need to get my gear on, fast.’

He opened the Storage Pavilion. The equipment inside was already in its active state.

Li You skillfully equipped everything.

In his hand was the beautiful, emerald-green Snake Scale Sword.

He was filled with confidence.

’Time to check my stats.’

”Qi and Blood: 320

Attack: 15

Defense: 17

Agility: 13.”

’Not bad at all.’

Just then, a behemoth slowly flew toward him from the distant sky.

It was the Horned Bee.

Its two antennae were long, looking highly aggressive at a glance.

The three venomous stingers at the tip of its conical abdomen were very distinct. They glinted with a cold light, looking incredibly dangerous.

The three stingers were a very prominent feature of the Horned Bee. Their venom was potent, and a sting could have very serious consequences.

’I’ll have to be careful of those three stingers during the fight.’

Li You had no desire to get stung by those things.

”Monster Name: Horned Bee.

Qi and Blood: 400

Attack: 14

Defense: 15

Agility: 10.”

As the Horned Bee flew closer, its stats quickly appeared.

The stats gave Li You a small shock.

Its Qi and Blood was higher than his, while the other three stats were only slightly lower.

’This is going to be a tough fight!’

He would have to give it his all and stay completely focused.

Otherwise, he might actually lose.

That would be a disaster.

The Horned Bee’s huge eyes were now locked firmly onto Li You.

Suddenly, the three stingers on its abdomen detached and shot toward Li You at high speed.

It happened so suddenly, and they were so fast.

Startled, Li You dodged to the side at top speed, narrowly avoiding them.

The three stingers grazed past Li You’s body before plunging directly into the ground and disappearing.

’They went straight into the ground? That’s some insane power!’

’What would have happened if they’d hit me?’

Li You felt a surge of relief.

’This thing just launched its stingers out of nowhere. It plays dirty!’

’But now that its stingers are gone, let’s see you act so cocky.’

Li You looked back at the Horned Bee.

But his eyes widened in an instant.

Right there, at the tip of its abdomen, were three new stingers.

Still glinting with a cold light.

’Holy crap, they can regenerate?’

’It’s bad enough that it can launch them as projectiles, but they can regenerate too?’

’This is a sick joke! A really sick joke!’

’If the Horned Bee launches a surprise stinger attack in the middle of the fight, I’ll have a hard time dodging it!’

’This battle is going to be really difficult.’

But no matter how hard it was, he had to fight.

’Screw being scared!’

Li You brandished the Snake Scale Sword in his hand and took the initiative to attack.

But the Horned Bee’s agility was only slightly lower than Li You’s. Its massive body nimbly shifted to the side, easily dodging his attack.

Then, its pair of long antennae swung back at Li You in a counterattack.

Li You dodged sideways and swung his sword again.

This time, he finally landed a hit. But the opponent only lost two points of Qi and Blood.

It couldn’t be helped; its defense was also very high.

’Looks like I’ll have to slowly grind this one out.’

’Then let the grinding begin.’

Next, Li You and the Horned Bee exchanged blows.

Li You had already chipped away 52 points of its Qi and Blood.

However, he had also lost 20 points of his own.

He had been hit by the stingers twice.

The pain felt extremely real and intense.

But then, a pleasant surprise appeared.

”Item Drop: 110 pounds of pickled mustard greens.

Quality: Medium.”

’It’s starting to drop ingredients!’

Li You’s spirits soared, and with a sudden surge of fighting spirit, he launched a series of attacks.

While he knocked off several dozen more points of the Horned Bee’s Qi and Blood, more ingredients continued to drop.

”Item Drop: 110 pounds of pork belly.

Quality: Medium.”

”Item Drop: 110 pounds of Two-blade Pork.

Quality: Medium.”

”...”

Li You grew more and more delighted, and his combat effectiveness grew stronger and stronger.

Finally, the Horned Bee’s Qi and Blood dropped to zero, while Li You still had 105 points remaining.

’Excellent.’

’That went much better than I expected.’

After its Qi and Blood hit zero, the Horned Bee’s color dimmed slightly, and it quickly flew off into the distance.

However, just as it flew away, something dropped from its body.

The object fell directly to the ground, glowing with a green light.

Li You’s eyes lit up. He knew this was an equipment drop.

And it was green-tier gear, no less.

If the drops were ingredients or other items, they would go straight into his Storage Pavilion.

Only equipment dropped directly onto the ground.

’I wonder what kind of equipment it is?’

Filled with anticipation, Li You walked over, picked it up, and took a look.

It was a helmet.

”Equipment Name: Bee King’s Helmet (Green).

Slot: Head.

Stats: Qi and Blood +300, Attack +2, Defense +20, Agility +2.”

Another piece of green-tier gear was certainly a pleasant surprise.

Even if it was just a helmet... that was fine too.

Li You unequipped his old helmet without hesitation and put on the Bee King’s Helmet.

Equipment types were divided into five categories: Weapon, Helmet, Chest, Legs, and Feet.

He already had two pieces of green-tier gear.

They were the chest piece, the Celestial Beetle Cocoon Clothing, and the weapon, the Snake Scale Sword.

Now, with the Bee King’s Helmet, he had three pieces of green-tier gear.

He was only missing the leg and feet pieces for a full green set.

’It doesn’t feel that far off anymore.’

’After I get a full green set, blue-tier gear should start dropping, right?’

’I’m really looking forward to it!’

Time to check his stats now.

”Qi and Blood: 550

Attack: 16

Defense: 32

Agility: 14.”

Compared to before, his Qi and Blood and Defense had both increased significantly.

Clearly, helmets mainly increased the defense stat.

’Not bad, not bad at all.’

Li You was in a great mood.

Just then, a minute was up.

Li You exited the game instance and returned to the real world.

”Congratulations to the host for completing the current game instance. You have received one lottery draw.”

Li You was ecstatic on the inside, but his face remained impassive.

At that moment, the Horned Bee was still buzzing near Ye Shengge’s face.

After all, only a second had passed in the real world.

However, Li You knew the Horned Bee was about to fly away.

To make it look like he was the one who flicked it away, Li You quickly moved his hand toward the Horned Bee and flicked his finger.

At the exact moment Li You’s finger flicked out, the Horned Bee flew straight off in one direction.

But in Ye Shengge’s eyes, it looked as if Li You had flicked the Horned Bee away with a single finger.

Seeing the Horned Bee fly straight away without coming back, Ye Shengge let out a long sigh of relief.

She had been genuinely terrified just now.

She knew that a Horned Bee’s sting was not only extremely painful but could also have very serious consequences.

If she had been stung just now, she would have been in a world of pain.

Thankfully, her boss was here.

’Speaking of which, the boss flicked the Horned Bee away with just his finger. Isn’t that a little too amazing?’

’How could he be so accurate?’

’You have to remember, the Horned Bee wasn’t stationary; it was flying.’

’I never knew the boss had skills like that.’

’So awesome!’

Ye Shengge was grateful to have Li You with her, but she was still shaken. She said, ”Thank you, Boss. That really scared me.”

Li You said, ”A Horned Bee buzzing around your face is definitely scary. Getting stung by one of those is no fun at all.”

Ye Shengge nodded. ”Yeah! I don’t know why that Horned Bee singled me out. It just kept flying in front of my face and wouldn’t leave. I’m not even wearing perfume! If I were, maybe the scent could have attracted it.”

Li You said, ”I’m not sure what the reason was either. But it’s a normal occurrence. It’s not just Horned Bees; honeybees do it too. Sometimes they’ll just suddenly fly up to your face and refuse to leave, just buzzing back and forth.”

Ye Shengge said, ”Good thing there was only one. If there had been a few more, it would have been truly terrifying.”

Li You nodded. ”That’s true. By the way, after all that fuss with the Horned Bee, are you still interested in going fishing?”

Ye Shengge said, ”Of course! That was just an accident. Besides, running into Horned Bees in the wild is a perfectly normal thing. Let’s go.”

Li You smiled. ”Alright then.”

The two of them continued walking.

This time, Ye Shengge walked in front.

”By the way, Boss, Horned Bees are considered beneficial insects, right?”

”They are. They can eliminate a lot of agricultural pests.”

”Also, do Horned Bees produce honey?”

”No. Their body structure and diet are very different from honeybees, so they don’t produce honey.”

”...”

The two of them chatted about Horned Bees as they walked.
