I Have a Countryside Gourmet Restaurant

Chapter 110: Chapter 110: The Super Singing King of Bear Ridge

Bald Qiang and the animals all looked into the pot.

”What’s this?” Xiong Er asked.

”You bears are so uncultured. You don’t even recognize tofu,” Bald Qiang said smugly. He had finally found another chance to look down on Xiong Er.

”Tofu? Is it good?” For once, Xiong Er didn’t talk back to Bald Qiang.

”Of course it’s good. And what’s more, Li You is making Mapo Tofu. That’s even more delicious. Mapo Tofu is a very famous dish in our human cuisine,” Bald Qiang added.

Li You smiled. ”Brother Qiang is right. This is indeed Mapo Tofu.”

”Mapo Tofu? What a weird name. But as long as it’s tasty, that’s all that matters. Hehehe...” Xiong Er said, drooling.

”Besides the Mapo Tofu, I also made some Yangchun Noodles. They’ll be ready to eat soon, too.”

”Noodles? I love noodles.”

”This king also enjoys noodles.”

The animals were all quite familiar with noodles.

Soon, the Mapo Tofu was ready, filling a large basin. The Yangchun Noodles were done too, and every person and animal got a big bowl.

”You all go ahead and eat. I’ll make three more dishes. If there aren’t enough noodles, I’ll cook some more,” Li You said.

”Okay!”

Bald Qiang and the animals began to eat once again in the living room.

”The Mapo Tofu is so numbing and spicy! But it’s so delicious! I want more.”

”So this is how good tofu can taste.”

”These noodles are delicious too. This is the first time this king has ever eaten such tasty noodles.”

”Bald Qiang, what did Li You call these noodles again? They’re amazing! A hundred times better than the noodles you make.”

”They’re called Yangchun Noodles, a popular noodle dish from the Jiangnan region. Ignorance is a scary thing. Also, these noodles are indeed a bit tastier than the ones Brother Qiang makes. But a hundred times better is an exaggeration. Half a time better, at most.”

”Bald Qiang, you’re so shameless.”

”...”

In the kitchen, listening to the voices of Bald Qiang and the animals in the living room, Li You felt extremely happy.

He quickly made three more dishes: Twice-Cooked Pork with Green Peppers, Stir-Fried Shredded Potatoes, and Boiled Cabbage in Supreme Broth.

These three dishes once again sent Bald Qiang and the animals into a frenzy of excitement.

Especially the Boiled Cabbage in Supreme Broth.

Bald Qiang said excitedly, ”Li You, I can’t believe you even know how to make Boiled Cabbage in Supreme Broth! And it’s so delicious.”

Xiong Da also commented, ”We eat cabbage all the time, but the taste is usually just okay. I never thought Li You could make it taste this good.”

”Li You, you’re amazing!” cheered Xiong Er and the other animals.

”This Boiled Cabbage in Supreme Broth is no small feat. In our human world, it’s a famous dish served at state banquets. You uncultured animals probably don’t even know what a state banquet is, do you? Anyway, it’s a huge deal. You’re all in for a real treat today, getting to eat a famous state banquet dish of us humans,” Bald Qiang added.

The animals didn’t really understand what a ”state banquet” was, but they knew it must mean something incredible. No wonder it could make ordinary-tasting cabbage so delicious.

The animals grew even more excited.

”Li You, it’s so great having you here!”

”A famous state banquet dish? Not bad, not bad. This is a dish fit for a king. Li You, how about you make this dish exclusively for this king from now on?”

”...”

Bald Qiang and the animals chattered away, creating a lively scene.

Li You laughed heartily, his mood growing ever more cheerful.

In the end, after everything was eaten, Xiong Da and Xiong Er were still not full.

So, Li You cooked two more large bowls of Yangchun Noodles for each of them.

Only after finishing those did they finally feel full.

Li You had a bowl of Yangchun Noodles himself. He was feeling a little hungry too.

’So I can feel hungry even inside a game instance,’ he thought.

After eating their fill, Li You, Bald Qiang, and the animals all went out into the yard.

Then, everyone was pleasantly surprised to discover that the ginger they had planted earlier had already sprouted.

”This ginger sprouted so fast! My little yard really is prime land for growing vegetables.” Bald Qiang roared with laughter, extremely pleased with himself.

”That’s amazing!” the animals praised in unison.

Li You smiled. ’Only in a place like this could a crop sprout so quickly without anyone finding it strange,’ he thought.

After that, the ginger in the patch continued to grow at a speed that was almost visible to the naked eye.

A few hours later, the ginger shoots had already grown to a height of about 30 centimeters.

By this time, the sky was growing dark.

Li You suggested they have a bonfire party that evening.

They could eat barbecue, sing, and dance around the fire.

Bald Qiang and the animals unanimously agreed, all of them extremely excited.

”Excellent! It’s finally my time to shine and show off my singing voice. Just you wait, I’ll sing a song for all of you,” Bald Qiang said, striking a very cool pose.

”Me too, me too! I want to sing too,” Xiong Er declared, not to be outdone.

”Tch! What’s so great about your singing? In a bit, I’ll let you all witness this king’s magnificent dance moves. Maomao, let’s go prepare our dance.”

”Yes, King Jiji.”

The other animals, like Luobutou, Beng Beng, and Tutu, were also eager to give it a try.

Seeing this, Li You smiled. ”Then let’s get everything ready.”

”Okay!”

Everyone got busy with their own tasks.

Bald Qiang brought out the barbecue grill again, along with a karaoke setup.

Xiong Da and Xiong Er went into the forest to gather a lot of dry firewood.

Li You took some fish from his Storage Pavilion, along with ingredients for the barbecue like potatoes, eggplants, peppers, and cucumbers.

After night fell, the bonfire was lit.

The animals gathered around the bonfire, visibly thrilled.

Bald Qiang once again took on the role of barbecue master.

However, before starting the grilling, he wanted to perform a song.

The music started, its rhythm bright and very dynamic.

Bald Qiang followed the dynamic beat of the music, constantly striking all sorts of difficult moves and poses.

He was being as flamboyant as he possibly could be.

Xiong Da, Xiong Er, and the other animals also swayed their bodies to the rhythm, cheering from time to time.

Li You’s eyes lit up. ’This song’s intro is so familiar!’

’It seems to be that one song.’

And sure enough.

He heard Bald Qiang begin to sing:

”My head holds up the heavens,

My feet stand on the earth.

The whole world worships,

My powerful aura.

I am,

The legendary Super Star.

This bro’s style,

Is also sharp.

...”

Li You was overjoyed. ’It really is this song!’

The name of the song was ”Handsome to the End,” and it appeared quite often in ”Boonie Bears.” It could be considered Bald Qiang’s theme song.

He never thought he’d get the chance to hear Bald Qiang sing this song live.

It felt surreal, yet so real at the same time.

After finishing a verse, Bald Qiang started striking all sorts of flamboyant poses again.

Xiong Da, Xiong Er, and the other animals all cheered loudly.

Li You also shouted, ”Brother Qiang, great singing!”

Hearing this, Bald Qiang became even more smug.

The bonfire party reached a climax right from the start.

It had to be said, Bald Qiang really had a talent for performing.

”My head holds up the heavens,

My feet stand on the earth.

The whole world worships,

My powerful aura.

...”

After the song ended, Bald Qiang laughed boisterously and said, ”How was that? Weren’t you all charmed by my handsome style? I am the super singing king of Bear Ridge, Bald Qiang! Ah-hahaha!”

This time, none of the animals talked back to Bald Qiang; instead, they were all cheering.

Li You’s face was also brimming with a smile.
