I Have a Countryside Gourmet Restaurant

Chapter 133: Chapter 133: This Is a Kind of Fortune

After a moment of reflection, all five of them were eager to know: was this liquor for sale to go?

If it was, they would buy out the owner’s entire stock of jars.

They would take as much as he had.

But unfortunately, they only heard Ye Shengge shake her head and say, ”The owner doesn’t sell this liquor for takeout. It’s only for customers to drink in the restaurant.”

The five men were all extremely disappointed to hear that.

But it wasn’t unexpected. They figured the owner probably wouldn’t sell it for takeout.

However, Wei Yang wasn’t ready to give up. He said, ”What if we offer a higher price? Ten times the amount. Would the owner sell then?”

Ye Shengge shook her head. ”No.”

After a moment, she added, ”Of course, if Director Wei is determined, you can try asking the owner yourself later.”

Wei Yang nodded. He did indeed plan to try.

’If the price is high enough, the owner should be tempted, right?’

Zhao Yanglin and the other three men had the same idea.

They were truly desperate to get their hands on this liquor.

Whether for drinking themselves or giving as a gift, it was the absolute best choice.

The driver, Xiaodai, smelled the fragrant liquor and saw the reactions of Zhao Yanglin, Wei Yang, and the others. Naturally, he was also dying for a taste.

But he knew he absolutely couldn’t drink, and Zhao Yanglin wouldn’t let him either.

Because he had to drive.

SIGH!

He could only force himself to resist.

The finest liquor was right in front of him, yet he couldn’t drink it.

’This is torture!’

Just then, Da Bai came over carrying five pounds of spicy crayfish.

Li You knew Zhao Yanglin, Wei Yang, and the others were drinking, so he had the spicy crayfish sent out first.

”Spicy crayfish. Please enjoy!”

”Thank you!”

Looking at the spicy crayfish on the platter, Zhao Yanglin, despite being mentally prepared, was still pleasantly surprised. He said, ”You can tell just by looking that this spicy crayfish is going to be amazing. Good thing we ordered it.”

Even Wei Yang and the other three men’s eyes lit up. The spicy crayfish did indeed look excellent and very appetizing.

They had initially been resistant to eating crayfish, thinking it was beneath their status and undignified, especially with so many other customers around.

But now, they felt an impulse to try it.

It was just too tempting!

’We should just eat it and not worry about looking undignified. Even Miss Ye likes to eat it, so what’s there for us to lose face over?’

’But... aren’t there any of those disposable gloves?’

Ye Shengge said, ”There are. But I don’t think disposable gloves are necessary. There’s water outside the entrance. We can go wash our hands and eat them directly. That’s the most satisfying way.”

Li You hadn’t originally planned on preparing disposable gloves.

But he considered that some customers might insist on them, or else they would be very reluctant to eat.

So, he prepared some just in case.

If customers needed them, he could have Da Bai and Xiaohai fetch them.

After she finished speaking, Ye Shengge stood up and walked toward the restaurant’s entrance.

Seeing this, Zhao Yanglin smiled. ”Miss Ye is right. Spicy crayfish like this should be eaten with your hands. I’m going to wash my hands too. If you guys need disposable gloves, just ask Da Bai or Xiaohai.”

With that, Zhao Yanglin also got up and walked toward the entrance.

The driver, Xiaodai, also stood up and said, ”I don’t need disposable gloves either.”

”Well...”

After a moment of hesitation, Wei Yang finally stood up as well.

’Fine.’

’If we’re eating with our bare hands, then so be it.’

’I just hope no one in the restaurant secretly takes a picture of me eating crayfish with my bare hands.’

The other three men eventually stood up too.

After all seven of them had washed their hands, they returned to their seats.

”Miss Ye, let’s dig in. We’ll start,” Zhao Yanglin said to Ye Shengge.

Ye Shengge nodded. ”Alright.”

She then picked up a crayfish with her chopsticks, placed it in her hand, and began to eat.

Zhao Yanglin also picked up a crayfish, placed it in his hand, and started eating right away.

The first bite brought another wave of pleasant surprise. He exclaimed, ”This is even better than I imagined. I knew it! The owner’s spicy crayfish is an absolute delicacy. This crayfish, paired with this incredible liquor, is simply out of this world.”

Seeing Zhao Yanglin’s enjoyment, Wei Yang and the other three men finally stopped hesitating. Each of them picked up a crayfish and placed it in their hands.

They began to eat.

Although they were still a bit reserved and ate somewhat unnaturally, the taste of the crayfish was a huge surprise.

It was truly delicious. Calling it a world-class delicacy would be no exaggeration.

’So, crayfish can taste this good.’

While they had rarely eaten crayfish before, they had tried it.

But the crayfish they’d had in the past couldn’t even be compared to this.

’This owner really is something else.’

Eating a crayfish and taking a sip of liquor was indeed the ultimate indulgence.

And, you know what? This feeling of eating crayfish with their bare hands was actually pretty good.

’Let’s try another one.’

Wei Yang and the other three men each picked up another crayfish and started eating.

This time, they were more relaxed and ate more naturally.

And of course, it felt even better.

Not because the flavor was better—it was the same—but because of the feeling.

The feeling of enjoying a truly exquisite meal.

It was incredibly relaxing and casual.

’So satisfying!’

Wei Yang felt more cheerful than ever. He raised his liquor bowl and gestured to Ye Shengge. ”Miss Ye, a toast to you!”

Ye Shengge also raised her bowl in return.

Then, they each took a sip.

This scene made all the other customers who had been secretly watching Wei Yang gasp in silent shock.

’Who on earth is this Miss Ye?’

’It’s one thing to be eating at the same table as Wei Yang, but he’s actually toasting her proactively?’

’That’s one of the most famous and influential directors in the entire country!’

’This Miss Ye’s background is not simple! Definitely not simple!’

”Miss Ye, I’ll toast you as well!”

”Miss Ye, a toast to you from me too!”

”...”

Zhao Yanglin and the other three men also toasted Ye Shengge.

And this shocked the other customers in the restaurant even more.

Although they didn’t recognize the four men, it was obvious they weren’t simple characters either.

’And they’re all toasting Miss Ye too.’

’It’s one thing for Miss Ye to be stunningly beautiful with a perfect figure. I can’t believe her background is so extraordinary as well.’

’This owner’s restaurant can attract even people like this.’

’He’s incredible!’

Ye Shengge raised her liquor bowl to return the toast to Zhao Yanglin, Wei Yang, and the others.

Afterward, the group continued to eat crayfish and drink liquor.

Wei Yang and the other three men became more and more relaxed.

In the end, they completely let go.

At this point, they no longer felt that eating crayfish was beneath their status or undignified.

’Other people can’t even get a taste of such exquisite food and liquor even if they wanted to.’

’Is this undignified? Is this losing face?’

’No, it’s not.’

’This is a blessing.’

’Only the fortunate get to eat spicy crayfish like this and drink such fine liquor.’

The more Wei Yang and the other three men ate, the happier they became.

Zhao Yanglin, of course, was the same.

The hundred-milliliter serving of liquor in their bowls was quickly finished.

The liquor in Ye Shengge’s bowl was also finished.

”Miss Ye, would you like more liquor?” Zhao Yanglin asked.

Ye Shengge shook her head. ”I’m good. You all go ahead and enjoy.”

Zhao Yanglin nodded. ”Alright. Then have some more crayfish.”

”Okay.”

Then, Zhao Yanglin had Da Bai bring another hundred-milliliter serving of liquor for each of the five men.

They continued to drink, continuing to enjoy the delicious food and fine liquor.
