I Have a Countryside Gourmet Restaurant

Chapter 127: Chapter 127: Renting a Room to a Beauty

Li You walked into the kitchen and started cooking.

A short while later, twenty-two servings of crucian carp with agastache were ready.

Xia Xiaoyue, Mu Qingye, Yu Wei, and the other girls started to eat.

Without a doubt, it was the best crucian carp they had ever eaten in their lives.

Even though they were mentally prepared, the girls were still incredibly delighted to have another new, top-tier delicacy at the owner’s place.

Originally, some of the girls, including Mu Qingye, weren’t very fond of eating fish.

Especially fish with many bones, like crucian carp, grass carp, or silver carp.

Eating them required a lot of careful work, which was a hassle.

And even if they were careful, there were still times they’d get a bone stuck in their throat.

That’s why they didn’t particularly like eating it.

However, even though the owner’s crucian carp with agastache was still crucian carp, they weren’t afraid of the hassle or of getting a bone stuck.

Such was the allure of a true top-tier delicacy.

The girls all willingly succumbed to its temptation.

After slowly finishing their meal, they were finally content.

What a day it had been. Spicy crayfish for lunch and crucian carp with agastache for dinner. In the afternoon, they’d even collected fish traps in the canyon, eaten a lot of wild fruit on the mountain, and seen a Chinese honey locust tree for the first time.

It was so worth it!

But now, it was time to head back to school.

They would be back again.

They were sure they would be back again in just a few days.

These days, they felt awful if they went too long without visiting.

It couldn’t be helped. Who could blame them for loving this place so much?

After the girls said their goodbyes and left, more customers trickled in to eat.

The sky gradually darkened.

After the last wave of customers finished and left, Ye Shengge, who had been lounging in the rocking chair Li You often used by the entrance, ordered two pounds of spicy crayfish and one serving of crucian carp with agastache.

It was time for her to eat as well.

After dinner, she still had to go to town to stay at a hotel.

Soon, two pounds of spicy crayfish and a serving of crucian carp with agastache were placed in front of Ye Shengge.

Seeing that no other customers had arrived, Ye Shengge said to Li You, ”Boss, are you about to eat? How about I treat you to dinner? You treated me to crayfish this afternoon. Now it’s my turn to treat you.”

Li You was a little surprised; he hadn’t expected Ye Shengge to offer to treat him. He smiled and said, ”You’re the customer. It wouldn’t be right for me to let you pay. How about I treat you instead?”

Ye Shengge shook her head. ”You treated me this afternoon, and you’ve treated me before. This time, it’s my turn to treat you. Don’t be so polite with me, Boss.”

”Well...”

Li You hesitated for a moment, then smiled. ”Alright then, I won’t stand on ceremony.”

’This beauty is definitely loaded, so one meal on her tab should be fine.’

”That’s more like it.” Ye Shengge was very pleased. She added, ”In that case, I’ll order a few more pounds of spicy crayfish... let’s make it four. And another crucian carp with agastache. Also, what do you want to eat, Boss? Just go ahead and make it for yourself.”

Li You said, ”The spicy crayfish and crucian carp will be enough. Why don’t you start eating? I’ll go make another four pounds of crayfish and one more crucian carp.”

Ye Shengge said, ”I’ll wait and we can eat together.”

Li You nodded. ”I’ll be quick then.”

”Okay.”

Li You went into the kitchen, and after a flurry of activity, four pounds of spicy crayfish and a serving of crucian carp with agastache were ready.

He brought them to the table where Ye Shengge was sitting.

It was time to eat.

”Want something to drink?” Li You asked Ye Shengge.

Ye Shengge shook her head. ”I still have to drive to town later.”

’I did drink a little this afternoon, but it wasn’t much. Enough time has passed now that it should be fine to drive.’

This was one of the reasons Ye Shengge had waited until now to eat.

Li You thought for a moment and said, ”I have a spare room upstairs. If you don’t mind, you could stay here. The accommodations are pretty decent, probably better than the hotel in town.”

”Well...”

Ye Shengge was tempted. She asked, ”Is it really an unoccupied spare room?”

Li You nodded. ”Of course.”

Ye Shengge thought for a moment, then said, ”How about this. I won’t stay for free. I’ll pay you for the room, just like I’m staying at a hotel. How does that sound?”

Li You shook his head. ”It’s just for one night, why bring up money? Forget about it.”

Ye Shengge thought again, then said, ”How about this, then. I’ll just rent a room from you directly. A long-term rental. That way, whenever I come here in the future, I can stay whenever I want. I won’t have to drive to a hotel in town every night. What do you think?”

’Oh?’

Li You thought about it. ’That actually sounds pretty good.’

’Besides my own room, I have four empty rooms upstairs anyway. Renting one to Ye Shengge would bring in a bit of extra income.’

So he nodded and said, ”Alright, I can do that. I’ll rent one to you. You can rent it for as long as you like, it’s up to you. There are four spare rooms upstairs, you can pick whichever one you want.”

Ye Shengge nodded. ”Okay, great. How much per month? Name your price, and I’ll pay for the first year’s rent now.”

’Paying for a whole year’s rent upfront?’

’Nice. What a power move.’

Since she was offering to pay that way, Li You certainly wasn’t going to object.

As for how much per month...

After hesitating for a bit, Li You said, ”One thousand a month. How’s that?”

Ye Shengge nodded. ”That’s fine! It’s not expensive. A thousand a month is twelve thousand for the year. I’ll transfer it to you now.”

With that, she picked up her phone and transferred 12,000 to Li You via WeChat Pay.

Just like that, 12,000 was in his account. Li You was secretly delighted. He then asked, ”Should we sign a contract? Or should I write you a receipt or something?”

Ye Shengge said, ”The transfer record is enough. No need for a receipt. As for a contract, I don’t think it’s necessary. But if you feel we need one, I can sign it.”

Li You shook his head. ”I don’t think it’s necessary either. Let’s not sign one then.”

Ye Shengge gave a slight smile. ”Okay.”

Li You then said, ”So, shall we have that drink now?”

Ye Shengge nodded. ”Sure! Let’s start with a bowl each.”

’Start with?’

’Does that mean we’re going to keep going after the first bowl?’

Li You muttered to himself inwardly, ’Could it be this beauty can really hold her liquor?’

Then, he suddenly felt that maybe he shouldn’t have suggested drinking in the first place.

But things had already come to this; he couldn’t very well back out now.

’Oh, well.’

’I’ll just see how it goes after the first bowl.’

”By the way, it’s unlikely we’ll have any more customers at this hour. How about we go to the living room upstairs and drink while we watch TV?” Li You suggested.

Ye Shengge said, ”Sure! Let’s go.”

Li You nodded. Then he told Da Bai to close the shop door while he ladled out two bowls of liquor.

He carried them upstairs.

Ye Shengge followed behind, carrying the crayfish.

Once upstairs, he turned on the living room lights.

Ye Shengge looked around the brightly lit room and said with delight, ”I didn’t expect it to be so spacious up here, and so clean and tidy. This place is really nice!”

Li You thought to himself, ’Of course it’s nice, that’s why I had the nerve to offer it to you! Otherwise, how could I dare let a great beauty like you come upstairs?’

Then he smiled and said, ”It’s alright. By the way, do you want to pick your room first?”

”Yes!” Ye Shengge answered immediately.

Clearly, the environment had made her even more interested in the idea of staying here.

Li You nodded. ”Go ahead and pick one, then. I’ll go down and bring up the fish. The doors aren’t locked, so you can just open them.”

At this, he pointed to one of the rooms and continued, ”Aside from that one, which is mine, you can choose from the other four.”

”Okay, I’ll go pick one then.”

Li You nodded and turned to go back downstairs.

Soon, he came back up carrying the two servings of crucian carp with agastache.

Ye Shengge was still choosing a room, so Li You didn’t disturb her and turned on the TV instead.

Eating crayfish and fish, drinking, and watching TV with a great beauty—tonight was destined to be a very pleasant evening.

After carefully inspecting all four rooms, Ye Shengge finally chose the one closest to Li You’s.

Afterward, she sat down on the sofa next to Li You.

Her long legs were especially eye-catching.

”Let’s eat.”

”Alright!”
