I Have a Countryside Gourmet Restaurant

Chapter 123: Chapter 123: This Wine Belongs Only Here

Then, the group of girls followed Da Bai and Xiaohai into the shop.

Li You had already brought two large platters of crayfish to the table.

All the girls gathered around, unable to hold back a collective ”Wow!”

They looked absolutely mouth-watering!

They were already starting to drool.

”Boss, can we eat yet?” Xia Xiaoyue asked.

This was what every girl was thinking at that moment.

Li You smiled faintly and said, ”Of course. If you feel there’s anything wrong, or if you have any suggestions, feel free to speak up.”

”Then we won’t hold back!”

The girls all started eating directly with their hands.

Li You hadn’t provided any disposable gloves, and the girls didn’t need them.

Eating such a supreme delicacy with disposable gloves would be a sign of disrespect.

You wouldn’t be able to suck the sauce off your fingers.

First, they put the crayfish straight into their mouths to slurp up the sauce.

With just that one slurp, the girls grew excited.

The flavor was so much better than they had imagined.

Then, they peeled the shell off the crayfish’s tail and popped the meat into their mouths.

Instantly, they became even more excited.

It was a deliciousness they had never experienced before.

This group of girls loved crayfish; they had lost count of how many times they’d eaten it before.

They had tried all sorts of flavors: mala, garlic, spicy, and more.

They were all delicious.

But now, this mala crayfish was a supreme delicacy the likes of which they had never tasted.

It turned out that the flavor of mala crayfish could be so, so much more delicious than they had ever known.

’Is the boss’s mala crayfish the best in the entire country?’

Even Ye Shengge couldn’t be entirely certain of the answer to that question.

But the possibility was extremely high.

’How lucky are we to be able to eat crayfish like this?’

The girls were all thrilled.

And the boss had told them to point out any problems or make any suggestions.

’Find a problem? What suggestions could we possibly have?’

’The boss was seriously overthinking things.’

Eat, eat, eat. They had to keep eating.

Everyone eagerly reached for a second one.

Ye Shengge picked up her second crayfish and was just about to eat it. As she lifted her eyes, she noticed a massive wine jar.

’Huh?’

’Has the boss started selling liquor here?’

That was something she didn’t know.

Ye Shengge asked Li You, ”Boss, have you started selling liquor?”

Li You nodded. ”That’s right. What’s up? You want a drink?”

Ye Shengge said, ”I just saw it and wanted to ask. I rarely drink baijiu, almost never. I can’t handle it; I don’t think it tastes good.”

’Hm?’

’From the sound of it, does she drink other types of alcohol besides baijiu?’

Ye Shengge nodded. ”I can drink other kinds. Red wine, beer, things like that. Of course, I’m not saying baijiu is bad. It’s just that I personally can’t handle it. No matter how expensive or high-quality the baijiu is, I just can’t drink it.”

’Is that so?’

Li You smiled. ”In that case, would you like to try my baijiu? It’s completely different from all the others. You can’t buy it anywhere else. It’s only available here. Who knows, you might actually like it.”

”Really?”

”The boss’s liquor is delicious. They say it’s like the Jade Dew of the heavens, a truly supreme vintage,” Xia Xiaoyue said.

”Is that so?” Ye Shengge smiled. ”Have you tried it, Xiao Yue?”

Xia Xiaoyue said, ”Well, no. I heard it from the other customers in the shop. But I have smelled its aroma. It’s very pleasant and not overpowering at all.”

’So that’s how it is.’

Ye Shengge was intrigued. She said, ”In that case, I must try it. Does anyone else want a drink? Hmm... Never mind. You’re all still students, it’s best if you don’t drink.”

Then she turned back to Li You. ”Boss, give me a liang, then. By the way, how do you sell it?”

Li You said, ”Twenty yuan a liang. But today, it’s on me.”

Ye Shengge smiled. ”Then thank you, Boss.”

Li You replied, ”You’re too kind, Miss Ye.”

He then walked over to the wine jar, took a bowl, and ladled out one liang of liquor.

He handed it to Ye Shengge.

”Have a taste.”

Ye Shengge took it, took a sniff, and was delighted.

The aroma was indeed wonderful, very fragrant and mellow.

She had truly never smelled an aroma like it before.

’Time to take a sip and see.’

The liquor entered her mouth, and after savoring it for a moment, Ye Shengge was pleasantly surprised.

It was truly delicious.

It was better than any baijiu she had ever drunk before.

Including those extremely expensive ones.

Calling it the Jade Dew of the heavens, a supreme vintage, was no exaggeration.

She could actually drink this liquor.

And she thought it was delicious.

It was simply unbelievable that there was a baijiu she found delicious.

But such a liquor was right here in her hand.

Ye Shengge found it hard to believe, yet she had to.

’Liquor like this sells for twenty yuan a liang?’

’That’s cheaper than dirt!’

At this thought, Ye Shengge said, ”Boss, if you sold this liquor on the open market, you could get at least two thousand yuan a liang.”

Two thousand yuan a liang? And that was the minimum?

Xia Xiaoyue, Mu Qingye, Lin Xiao, and all the other girls were stunned.

’The boss’s liquor is that valuable?’

Li You didn’t doubt Ye Shengge’s words.

However, he had no intention of selling it on the open market.

This liquor belonged only to this place.

Only those who came here could drink it.

Li You smiled faintly and said, ”Selling it on the open market might indeed fetch that price, at least. However, I don’t plan on doing that. This liquor belongs only to this place. You can only drink it if you come here.”

Ye Shengge slowly nodded.

Li You’s decision might seem foolish—he could clearly make much more money but chose not to.

But looking at it from a broader perspective, it was actually a brilliant decision.

Ye Shengge understood and supported his decision.

Then she smiled. ”Boss, come on, let’s have a drink.”

”Have a drink?”

”Let’s have a drink.”

”Alright.”

Li You ladled out another liang of liquor for himself.

He walked over to Ye Shengge, and the two of them clinked their glasses.

No, they clinked their bowls.

At that moment, Xia Xiaoyue said, ”Boss, I want to try the two-thousand-yuan-a-liang liquor too!”

”Me too.”

”I want to try it too.”

”...”

Mu Qingye, Yu Wei, and the other girls all chimed in.

Even Lin Xiao looked eager to try.

Li You looked at Lin Xiao and said with a helpless sigh, ”Lin Xiao, you’re still in high school. You can forget about it.”

”I know,” Lin Xiao said, her head lowered.

Li You chuckled, then said to Xia Xiaoyue, Mu Qingye, Yu Wei, and the other girls, ”As for the rest of you, I don’t recommend you drink either. Besides, Xiao Yue, you have to drive. So you definitely can’t.”

Although Ye Shengge had also driven, she probably wasn’t going back today and would be staying at a hotel in town again.

As for getting to town, she wouldn’t need to drive.

”Well...” Xia Xiaoyue nodded in resignation. ”Alright, then.”

She had forgotten that she was the one who drove.

’Oh well, I’ll just have to try it some other time when I have the chance.’

After a moment of hesitation, Mu Qingye, Yu Wei, and the other girls also decided to give up on the idea.

’Oh well, we’ll drink it some other time.’

If they couldn’t drink, then they would eat crayfish.

The group of girls stopped thinking about the liquor and excitedly went back to eating crayfish.

Li You and Ye Shengge looked at each other, smiled, and clinked their bowls together once more.
