I Have a Countryside Gourmet Restaurant

Chapter 120: Chapter 120: Catching Some Lobsters for the Boss

What are these things?

They look a bit like the robots you see on TV.

But can robots process crayfish?

And they’re so much faster than any person.

”Xiaoyou, are these two robots?” Li Chi asked.

Li You nodded. ”They are. I was getting a bit overwhelmed by myself, so I found two robots to help out.”

So they really were robots.

’Have robots really gotten this smart?’

Incredible!

After a moment of amazement, Li Chi added, ”When we were catching crayfish in the fields today, we were just saying how your business is getting better and better. We figured you must be too busy to handle it all alone and would probably have to start hiring. I never expected you’d already found two robots to help.”

Li You smiled. ”With these two, I don’t need to hire any employees.”

Li Chi asked, ”Can they do everything an employee would?”

”They can!” Li You said. ”They can prep ingredients, serve food, pour drinks, wipe tables, clean up, and more. Plus, they’re fast and never make mistakes.”

’They’re that amazing?’

Li Chi and the other villagers stared at Da Bai and Xiaohai, clicking their tongues in amazement and marveling at how incredible modern technology was.

Someone else asked, ”Xiaoyou, they must have been expensive, right?”

Li You just smiled and said they weren’t too expensive.

After watching for a good while, the villagers finally took out the crayfish they had caught that day for Li You to inspect and weigh.

It had been another lively day of catching crayfish in the village.

...

Meanwhile, in Taoshan Village.

Lin Zhonghai, Lin Guodong, and the others had returned home.

The moment Lin Zhonghai got home, he grabbed a bucket and was about to head out again.

”Grandpa, where are you going?” Lin Xiao asked.

Lin Zhonghai replied, ”I’m going to the fields to catch some crayfish. You can take them to him tomorrow when you go to Xiaoyou’s restaurant.”

Lin Xiao instantly understood her grandfather’s intentions. ’No wonder Grandpa asked the owner if he wanted crayfish caught in the fields when we were leaving the restaurant earlier.’

Then she said, ”Grandpa, I’ll go with you.”

Lin Zhonghai thought for a moment, then nodded. ”Alright, let’s go.”

”Let’s go, let’s go,” Lin Xiao said excitedly. ”Where should we go? Which field has the most crayfish?”

”The main field. There are a lot of crayfish there.”

”Okay, okay, let’s go to the main field then. Grandpa, let’s catch a lot!”

”Alright.”

The grandfather and granddaughter chatted as they walked, and soon they arrived at the edge of the main field.

There, they were surprised to see Lin Guodong and a few others, who had also shown up with buckets in hand.

”Guodong, what are you all...?” Lin Zhonghai asked.

Lin Guodong laughed. ”Brother Zhonghai, are you planning to catch some crayfish for Xiaoxiao to take to the young man’s restaurant tomorrow?”

Lin Zhonghai was puzzled. ”Guodong, how did you know?”

Lin Guodong said, ”Back at the young man’s place, when you asked if he wanted crayfish from the fields, I had a hunch. So, we came to catch some too. We can have Xiaoxiao take them all over tomorrow.”

Realization dawned on Lin Zhonghai, and he smiled. ”That’s very thoughtful of you all.”

Lin Guodong said, ”The young man is a great person. Since he needs crayfish now, it’s only right that we catch some for him.”

The others all voiced their agreement.

Lin Zhonghai nodded. ”In that case, let’s get started.”

”Right!”

Everyone waded into the field and began to catch crayfish.

Lin Xiao waded into the field as well.

Seeing that Lin Guodong and the others were also catching crayfish for Li You, she felt an inexplicable surge of excitement.

After spotting a crayfish hole, she didn’t hesitate for a second, plunging her hand straight in to grab it.

Most other girls wouldn’t dare stick their hands into a crayfish hole to catch one.

For one, they were afraid of getting pinched.

And for another, they were even more terrified that the thing in the hole wasn’t a crayfish, but something else entirely—something scary.

Like one of those long, slithery things that flicks its tongue.

If you stuck your hand in and touched that, wouldn’t you be scared out of your wits?

But Lin Xiao wasn’t afraid.

It wasn’t that she wasn’t afraid of snakes, but she knew that a crayfish hole would only ever contain a crayfish, never a snake.

Of course, that was provided you could correctly identify the hole in front of you as being, with one hundred percent certainty, a crayfish hole.

That wasn’t difficult. Crayfish holes were quite easy to recognize.

As for getting pinched by the crayfish inside?

That wouldn’t happen as long as you had the right technique.

So, for Lin Xiao, grabbing crayfish from their holes was a piece of cake.

Soon, Lin Xiao pulled out a decent-sized crayfish.

’There should be another one inside.’

Lin Xiao reached back in.

Sure enough, she quickly pulled out another one.

This one was slightly smaller than the last.

’It’s probably the female. The first one must have been the male.’

”Look, Grandpa.”

Lin Xiao proudly showed the two crayfish she had just caught to Lin Zhonghai.

”Very nice. They’re both a good size,” Lin Zhonghai said with a smile.

He himself had also caught a few.

And Lin Guodong and the others were also steadily making their own catches.

...

「Jiulong Gorge」

The crayfish the villagers brought to sell today were also of medium quality.

Li You bought them all.

Everyone had generally caught more crayfish today than yesterday. Having earned more money than the day before, they were all quite delighted.

His father had also caught over ten jin of crayfish between yesterday and today and was planning to bring them to Li You.

But Li You told his father not to bother, because he was heading home that evening.

He had bought a wine jar that morning to fill with wine for his dad.

He also planned to make some spicy crayfish for his parents to eat.

He also invited Li Zhong and his wife, as well as Liu Jialiang’s family.

The last time Li Zhong had delivered crayfish, Li You had told him he would make some for him to eat sometime.

’Well, tonight’s the night.’

He called Li Zhong and Liu Jialiang separately.

Both of them happily accepted the invitation.

They had also gone out to catch crayfish that day. They had originally planned to bring them over to the restaurant, but after hearing that Li You was going home that evening, they delivered the crayfish directly to Li You’s house instead.

His father tried to pay them for the crayfish.

But the two men said that if they accepted the money, how could they shamelessly show up for a crayfish dinner that night?

Hearing this, his father let out a hearty laugh and dropped the matter of payment.

Back at Li You’s restaurant, customers started trickling in for their meals.

Unsurprisingly, Da Bai and Xiaohai once again gained a new set of fans.

As waves of customers finished their meals and left, the time slowly crept toward seven in the evening.

With a lull in customers, Li You decided to close up and head home.

He took out all the ingredients he would need for the evening from the Storage Pavilion and packed them into separate bags.

The wine jar was also filled to the brim.

Although the jar wasn’t huge, it was full of wine, which made transporting it by motorcycle rather difficult.

Li You tied the wine jar down securely, drove very slowly, and finally managed to get it home safely.

As for Da Bai and Xiaohai, he left them at the restaurant.

They could also stand guard for the night.

...

When Li You got home, Li Zhong and his wife, along with Liu Jialiang’s family, had already arrived.

His parents were in the courtyard, chatting with their guests.

When they saw Li You return, everyone gathered around to help him unload the things from his motorcycle.

Seeing the wine jar, Li Zhong and Liu Jialiang both knew it must contain the same kind of wine Li You sold at his restaurant.

This made both men very excited; they would get to enjoy a few good drinks tonight.

Although Li You had given them each a bottle yesterday, they had only taken two sips in total, reluctant to drink more.

His father had heard about the wine from Li Zhong and Liu Jialiang and knew Li You would be bringing a jar home today.

So, he had been looking forward to it with great anticipation.

Now, he eagerly lifted the lid of the jar to take a sniff.

Instantly, he was overjoyed.

’This really is good wine!’
