King of the Wilderness

Chapter 590: Chapter 299: The Mysterious Commission (Part 2)

Lin Yu’an fully understood that Mr. Hunter was conducting a selection in an extremely solemn and respectful manner.

He was choosing a suitable farm heir under the guise of a sale, while also making an entrusted commitment, finding someone capable of bearing any final regrets.

If he took on this ’duty,’ it would mean he signed a contract, a lifelong commitment to fulfill.

Then this kingdom he bought with money would ultimately become a token of gratitude from the former king.

He was both the buyer and the chosen ”heir.”

Lin Yu’an’s gaze finally landed on the wax-sealed letter, and instead of opening it, he looked at Arthur with a very calm tone and inquired.

”Arthur, this trust sounds more like a gentleman’s agreement. If I accept it, how does it ensure legally that the 230 million dollars can be paid to me?”

Arthur was not surprised in the least that Lin Yu’an could instantly switch to the cold legal level after such a touching story.

Arthur respectfully replied, ”Sir, you’ve touched on the core of this design. Mr. Hunter’s legal team has already constructed all of this into an unbreakable legal loop.”

”Firstly, when you signed the ranch purchase agreement, the 230 million dollars you paid did not directly enter Mr. Hunter’s personal account.”

”Instead, it went into an independent asset delivery escrow account managed by a top-tier third-party bank.”

”And the letter in front of you, once you open and sign it, means you agree to activate a legally binding ’Heritage Supervision and Enforcement Service Contract.’

Arthur succinctly explained how this contract operates:

”The core terms of this contract are:

Principal: Hunter Rockefeller Estate Trust.

Trustee Executor: Mr. Lin Yu’an, you.

Service Content: As the sole supervisor, responsible for overseeing, evaluating, and at your discretion, funding all legal actions aimed at searching for and retrieving Evelyn Rockefeller’s remains.

Service Compensation: Once the mission goal (Evelyn’s remains brought back to the ranch) is ultimately achieved.

The escrow bank will, in accordance with this contract, automatically pay the full 230 million dollars principal and any interest accrued during this period from the asset delivery escrow account to you as a one-time service compensation.

Contract Duration: This contract remains valid until the mission is completed, or you voluntarily declare the task impossible and terminate it.”

Arthur concluded, ”Simply put, your land purchase money has legally become a deposit for future service compensation you might receive.”

”The entire process is a completely legal commercial trust activity, not involving any complex tax and legal disputes that gifts or inheritances might bring.”

Arthur added finally, ”Of course, as Mr. Hunter intended, the activation of this contract depends entirely on you.”

”If you choose not to sign, then after the agreed 90-day delivery period, the funds in the escrow account will automatically be transferred to Mr. Hunter’s estate trust, completing the transaction.”

”And this commission would thus become void.”

There was no longer a hint of doubt in Lin Yu’an’s mind.

This was a profound and clever setup! Mr. Hunter had not only prepared a generous gift for him but had also paved all paths and removed all obstacles for receiving it.

He gave Lin Yu’an the freedom to choose, yet in this way, linked his last obsession to the fate of the new owner tightly together.

Lin Yu’an did not dwell on this issue but thought about the employees still waiting to meet outside.

”Arthur, allow me to consider this trust, and now, let’s go meet the employees.” Lin Yu’an closed the report and calmly said.

”Certainly, sir, the ranch’s operations team is very lean and efficient. Besides the eight department supervisors, thirty-eight other employees are at their respective posts.”

”The rest are participating via video link, and the conference room is ready.”

In the hybrid meeting room combining online and offline presence, the atmosphere was somewhat heavy and uneasy.

Around the long table at the center of the room, the eight core managerial personnel of the ranch were sitting upright.

When Lin Yu’an entered the meeting room accompanied by Arthur, everyone immediately stood up, and the employees on the screen also rose, with a solemn ambiance in the air.

Around the long table at the center of the room, the eight core managerial personnel of the ranch were sitting upright.

They were all seasoned employees who had served the former master Mr. Hunter for years, and they carried feelings of uncertainty towards this new owner.

The massive display screen in the room was divided into over thirty small windows, showing faces filled with the same tension and curiosity, belonging to ordinary employees from every corner of the ranch.

Sitting at the head position was the ranch’s general manager Hank Miller. A nearly sixty-year-old man with skin bronzed by the sun, and a weathered face lined with wrinkles.

He wore a neatly pressed denim shirt and leather vest, with sharp and silent eyes. He was the soul of this place, directly leading a team of 12 experienced cowboys.

Beside him was the horse farm supervisor, Maria Sanchez. A woman in her forties of Latin descent, with a strong figure and a neat ponytail, her horsemanship skills were outstanding.

She led a small team of 3, composed of 2 grooms, responsible for the daily care and training of 16 horses.
