King of the Wilderness

Chapter 551: Chapter 287: Negotiation Outcome Decided!

The Chinese man is now using that push for culture as a scorching sharp sword, pressing it against the neck of his political career! Forcing him to negotiate quickly!

Winters sprang up, knowing he had no time to delay. He had to dismantle this bomb before the concert!

”Isabella, quickly organize a video conference, I want to talk to them personally!”

Lin Yu’an and Dr. MacKeez did not wait long.

As the five minutes promised by Scoot were about to end, Justin Bieber’s tweet exploded on social networks around the globe right on time.

Half an hour later, the internal line connecting to the high-level office in Dr. MacKeez’s office suddenly rang shrilly.

The two exchanged a glance, seeing a trace of knowing smile in each other’s eyes.

MacKeez pressed the speaker button.

”Dr. MacKeez!” Director Fisher’s eager voice came from the other end of the line, ”Do you have time now? Minister Winters from Environment Canada would like to have an urgent video conference with you and Mr. Lin immediately.”

”Oh?” MacKeez deliberately elongated his tone, glancing at Lin Yu’an by his side.

Lin Yu’an gave her an almost imperceptible nod.

”Of course, Director Fisher.” MacKeez’s tone returned to the calm and detached demeanor of a scientist. ”Mr. Lin and I happen to have some proposals about the ’December Independent Conservation Project’ that we’d like to discuss with you all. We will be right over.”

It was still that cold conference room, but this time the atmosphere around the conference table had undergone a drastic change.

Lin Yu’an and Dr. MacKeez sat effortlessly side by side on one side of the long table, while opposite them, Director Fisher and Mr. Jenkins sat like two solemn jurors.

The large screen at the front of the conference room displayed two video windows: one showing Minister Winters with a serious face in his Ottawa office, and the other showing Isabella Leclair with a complex expression.

A game spanning thousands of kilometers officially began.

”Mr. Lin, Dr. MacKeez.” Winters on the screen was the first to speak, his tone solemn, completely devoid of the contempt he had for his subordinates previously.

”We have seen Mr. Justin Bieber’s tweet, it is a very influential preview.”

”I initiated this emergency meeting today with only one purpose, the Government of Canada does not wish to see any misunderstanding that could harm the friendship between us and global wildlife protection enthusiasts.”

The words were spoken with high political acumen, showing their stance without admitting to being threatened.

He looked at Lin Yu’an: ”So please tell me Mr. Lin, what is it you hope for, I believe we can find a result beneficial to all parties, especially for December.”

Lin Yu’an knew the other side was ready to listen to the conditions.

He did not waste more words, just connected his tablet to the conference room system.

The next second, the complete PPT filled with professional data and legal clauses regarding the ”Olive Branch Road” was clearly displayed in front of everyone.

In the ten minutes that followed, only the calm yet powerful voice of Lin Yu’an was heard in the conference room.

He spoke from the 40 million dollar foundation to the fifty-year supervision rights, from specific food and medical standards to the 500 million dollar penalty for breach.

From the million-dollar donations to research centers and foundations to ultimately shaping a humanitarian bright image for the Canadian government... every link was like precisely interlocking gears.

When Isabella on the screen saw the proposal for ”long-term legal guardianship,” and that clever explanation of Canada still being the source country on a legal level, merely entrusting sovereignty with us here.

The heart she had been holding felt it finally found a faint possibility of resting.

After Lin Yu’an finished all the content, the conference room fell into a prolonged silence.

The faces of Fisher and Jenkins were filled with undisguised shock; every aspect of this plan was almost perfect, but what shocked them more was the formidable financial power supporting this grand blueprint.

million dollars startup fund, 500 million dollar penalty... these astronomical figures coming from Lin Yu’an’s mouth seemed so nonchalant!

They looked at each other, seeing the same question in each other’s eyes: isn’t this young man just a small internet sensation uplifted by the Alone in the Wilderness program? What level of wealth does he actually have?

On the other end of the screen, Minister Winters closed his eyes, his fingers gently tapping on the tabletop.

After a long time, Winters opened his eyes, his gaze as sharp as a sword, looking at the screen as if to completely see through Lin Yu’an’s inner world.

He slowly said, with a voice devoid of any emotion: ”Mr. Lin, your proposal is very sincere and wise, it indeed provides us a brand new way of solving the problem.”

He first gave affirmation but immediately threw out the only and most core tug-of-war point.

”In principle, I personally can accept most of the framework you proposed, including the financial solution and the supervision model you suggested we undertake.”

”However,” his tone became extremely firm, ”regarding ’ownership’ and that nearly equivalent fifty-year guardianship, this is a red line that cannot be crossed.”

He looked at Lin Yu’an, giving his counter-offer: ”We can sign an exclusive full guardianship agreement, but the term is limited to a maximum of ten years, with a 100 million dollar penalty. This is the greatest concession the Canadian government can make without touching the fundamental premise of sovereignty.”
