King of the Wilderness

Chapter 589: Chapter 299: The Mysterious Commission

”After the accident, Mr. Hunter employed all his resources to launch an unprecedented search and rescue operation.”

”He invited top cave rescue experts from around the world, persuading a legendary adventurer who had set multiple records for cave diving depth in Asia.”

”Han Ting (Old Mao), hailed as China’s top cave diver, personally ventured into the waters to attempt a search.”

”But even Mr. Han Ting, after several life-risking dives, could only express helplessly that the internal environment of the Nine-Dun Skylight was the most complex and unpredictable he had ever encountered.”

”The raging currents and impenetrable darkness made any further searches extremely difficult. Ultimately, all rescue efforts ended in failure.”

”Miss Evelyn vanished forever in that mysterious underground river, leaving not a trace behind.”

”Last year, Mr. Hunter funded the last and most tragic private search operation.”

”He hired two cave diving experts who teamed up to attempt once more the underwater crossing route that Miss Evelyn had failed.”

”However, according to the later investigation report, when they descended to a depth of about 120 meters, they deviated from the main guide rope in the complex network of branches and lost their way.”

Arthur paused, as if the chilling scene was right before his eyes.

”Ultimately, both of them perished. The operation to recover their bodies was extremely difficult and showed all participants the true terror of those waters.”

”Fortunately, after seven days of underwater rescue and recovery led by Han Ting, showcasing his excellent skills and perseverance, they finally succeeded in recovering the bodies of the dear friends.”

”This incident completely shattered Mr. Hunter’s last hope. Not only could he not find his daughter, but his obsession indirectly led to the death of two other young lives.”

”This dual tragedy, along with all prior failures, became the final straw that broke Mr. Hunter. He lost his last child and couldn’t even bring her back to her homeland’s soil for burial.”

”Therefore, in his last days, recovering his daughter’s remains was more than just a father’s wish.”

”It became a duty that had to be fulfilled and a form of redemption; this became his sole obsession.”

Arthur’s expression became solemn, ”After learning that his end was near, Mr. Hunter made a decision that shocked the entire family office circle.”

”He amended his will, deciding to spend almost all of his liquid assets, seeking capable individuals worldwide, just to fulfill this last wish – to bring Evelyn home.”

Arthur took out a document from his briefcase and gently placed it on the table in front of Lin Yu’an.

”This is the core of his reward. An ancestor of the Rockefeller Clan was one of the earliest angel investors of the Coca-Cola Company.”

”In 1892, he provided a critical investment to Asa Candler, then a little-known founder, earning a portion of the company’s original shares.”

”After over a hundred years of financing, listing, and stock splits, the investment became a 2% equity stake in the Coca-Cola Company within the family trust.”

”The Hunter Clan never sold it. To them, this equity, like the Warrior Charter, symbolizes their family’s business insight and is a testament to history.”

”To achieve his last wish, Mr. Hunter hired Switzerland’s top law firm to establish an absolutely unbreakable, irrevocable trust around this equity stake.”

Arthur pointed to the document, explaining its legal significance: ”The terms of this trust are very clear. Mr. Hunter is the trustor, and the trust assets are this 2% equity in Coca-Cola.”

”The trustee is a neutral Swiss trust bank, and the Swiss law firm acts as the executor of the will with oversight power.”

”The beneficiary is the first entity to successfully recover Evelyn’s remains, verified by the trustee bank and certified by an international forensic organization.”

”The term irrevocable trust means that the legal effect of this reward transcends Mr. Hunter’s life and any family member’s will.”

”It is now an independent legal contract, strictly enforced and protected by the laws of the Cayman Islands and Switzerland.”

”As soon as the conditions are met, the trustee bank is legally obligated to transfer the entire equity from the trust to the beneficiary.”

”Even if Mr. Hunter’s grandchildren wanted to challenge it, it would be impossible for them to succeed.”

”According to the most conservative estimates, this 2% equity stake, its open market value would not be less than five billion US Dollars.”

”Mr. Hunter’s willingness to offer it demonstrates that his desire to bring his daughter home has surpassed everything else.” 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚

”Therefore, he established a trust fund and left a commission. If you, as the new owner of this land, are willing to accept this commission and become the supervisor of this recovery task.”

”Then from the moment you accept until the day Miss Evelyn is successfully brought back, you will receive a remuneration for supervising the task.”

”That remuneration happens to be the entire funds you used to purchase this ranch, 230 million US Dollars.”

”His wish is that someday, Evelyn could be buried in this family cemetery where she grew up.”
