The Rebirth of the Fierce Little Cute Girl

Chapter 249: Chapter 248: Where to Find a Master

Seeing Kong Mingsheng list out all the ingredients, Yiyi was full of amazement.

Though she knew he was skilled, she didn’t expect him to be this skilled, able to identify the components just by smelling them. He mentioned there was one last ingredient, which should be the Little Green Fruit. Unfortunately, she didn’t know what it was either, only that it could enhance the efficacy of all the ingredients, transforming an ordinary medicine pill into a miraculous remedy.

Kong Mingsheng sniffed again but still couldn’t determine what that last ingredient was. Finally, he turned to Yiyi and asked, ”Young lady, what exactly is that last ingredient? I feel it’s crucial, giving the medicine pill its excellent effect.”

Yiyi, hearing this, shook her head and said, ”I don’t know what that ingredient is. I got it by chance. Later, I discovered that adding it while refining medicine pills improves their effects, but now it’s all used up.”

”So where did you get it from?”

Kong Mingsheng asked somewhat excitedly.

”I picked it by chance back home, but there was only one tree on the mountain there, and after I picked it, it was gone. So now, that ingredient can’t be found.” Yiyi naturally couldn’t mention the Little Green Fruit, so she came up with an excuse off the top of her head.

Kong Mingsheng took note of this and even asked Yiyi where her hometown was.

Seeing Kong Mingsheng’s persistent demeanor, Yiyi was a bit helpless and finally gave him the address.

”Mr. Kong, thank you so much for today. Can we invite you over regularly to check on Xiaoqing’s health? Given Xiaoqing’s age, a sudden pregnancy is definitely demanding. We’d appreciate your guidance.” Song Chi was still very emotional but had many concerns, starting to worry even from now.

Hearing this, Kong Mingsheng didn’t refuse. He nodded directly and said, ”Alright, I’ll come by every week. However, it’s true that given Mrs. Song’s age, the pregnancy will be quite demanding and carries certain risks, so you must be especially cautious.”

He then turned to Song Xiaoqing and said, ”You must maintain a relaxed mood and avoid emotional fluctuations; otherwise, it would harm both you and the baby.”

”Okay, Mr. Kong, I understand.”

Song Xiaoqing had a hard time getting pregnant, so she eagerly nodded in agreement, then turned to Yiyi with gratitude and said, ”Yiyi, thank you so much. Without you, your godfather and I wouldn’t have a child. I never thought you’d help us once again. You’re truly a blessing for our family.”

This time, even Song Chi formally thanked Yiyi.

Seeing this, Yiyi hurriedly said, ”Godfather, godmother, please don’t say that. I’m happy to help. But godmother, you must be more cautious as you’re considered an advanced-age pregnant woman. Always stay vigilant.”

”Okay.”

Song Xiaoqing smiled and nodded.

After exchanging a few more words with them, Yiyi prepared to leave, thinking her presence might stop Song Xiaoqing from properly resting.

However, as soon as Yiyi left, Kong Mingsheng also started to leave.

”Young lady, wait a moment.”

Hearing someone call out, Yiyi turned to see it was Elder Kong. ”Mr. Kong, is there something you need?”

”Young lady, are you called Yiyi?”

Upon hearing this, Yiyi nodded and said, ”Yes, I’m Mo Yiyi.”

”Where did you learn from?”

Hearing this, Yiyi shook her head and said, ”I don’t have a master teaching me Chinese medicine.”

”What... that’s impossible. Then how did you learn to refine medicine pills?”

Yiyi had already thought of an answer, ”I’m a student at Shangjing University of Chinese Medicine. I’ve been interested in Chinese medicine since childhood and have seen some medical prescriptions. I’ve remembered them, which is why I can refine medicine pills. However, the prescription is lost now.”

Hearing Yiyi, Kong Mingsheng was somewhat surprised, glancing at Yiyi. He didn’t expect the young lady to have no master, only relying on prescriptions to refine pills. It showed her talent.

Thinking that Yiyi had no mentor, Kong Mingsheng’s eyes twinkled, and he looked at her more eagerly. ”Young lady, are you interested in studying with me?”

”This...”

Yiyi was a bit taken aback, not expecting him to say this. She hesitated slightly, unsure, ”Actually... I do have a mentor. He doesn’t teach Chinese medicine but other things.”

She wanted to make things clear just in case it bothered him.

”Since he’s teaching you other things, you should focus on that, and follow me to learn Chinese medicine.”

This time, Yiyi didn’t hesitate and called him ”Master” directly.

It should be noted that Kong Mingsheng is very selective about accepting disciples. From what she knew, he only had two, one being Qian Jinfan, the vice president of Shangjing Hospital, and another being Qi Renkun, a researcher, both outstanding individuals. Such a prestigious Chinese medicine master accepting her as a disciple was irresistible.

Seeing Yiyi calling him master, Kong Mingsheng nodded his approval.

”Alright, since you’re willing to be my disciple, let’s hold the ceremony another day. I’ll introduce you to your senior brothers then. By the way, where do you live so I can visit you?”

Yiyi quickly shared her home address.

”Okay, I’ve got it. It’s getting late; you should hurry home.”

After bidding farewell to Kong Mingsheng, Yiyi was still in disbelief. She never expected to become a disciple so quickly, and her learning path was about to expand.

Humming a tune, Yiyi happily headed home.

Seeing her daughter return so happily, Ding Yuejun couldn’t help but ask, ”Yiyi, you look so happy. Did something good happen?”

”Something great did happen. Godmom is pregnant.”

Hearing this, Ding Yuejun was full of surprise, ”Really? That’s wonderful news for Xiaoqing.”

Though she found it a bit unbelievable since Song Xiaoqing was her age, the news still brought genuine joy, knowing Song Xiaoqing and Song Chi didn’t have their children.

Yiyi then talked to her mother about the apprenticeship.

Ding Yuejun didn’t know Kong Mingsheng, but hearing her daughter mention such a prestigious Chinese medicine master made her happy for her, ”That’s fantastic. I’ll prepare the ceremony for you.”

While they were talking, Guo Ming entered looking a bit puzzled, ”What’s this about a ceremony?”
