The Rebirth of the Fierce Little Cute Girl

Chapter 246: Chapter 245: Apology

Chen Meilian heard her daughter’s words and said blandly, ”You must have seen it wrong. We haven’t met that young girl before, so don’t think too much about it.”

Ding Yating didn’t pay much attention to this and nodded, saying, ”Yes, she probably just has a common appearance.”

After saying this, she started talking about the birthday banquet.

”Mom, you were too hasty. How could you say such things to Old Mrs. Gu in public? Others will definitely think that Yunfang is desperately clinging to Gu Tingyu, and this will make others look down on Yunfang.”

As for this matter, Chen Meilian was still angry, so she directly snapped, ”Alright, the matter has already happened. Saying more is useless now. If you have nothing else to do, just go home early.”

But by the end, Chen Meilian looked at her daughter with some dissatisfaction and asked, ”Why didn’t Ming Bo come today? Is he really so busy that he can miss his mother-in-law’s birthday?”

Talking about her husband, Ding Yating hurried to explain on the side, ”Ming Bo had a very important meeting, so he didn’t come, but he had already prepared a gift for you, which I brought over today.”

Hearing this, Chen Meilian’s expression improved somewhat.

Seeing that there really wasn’t anything else, Ding Yating planned to go back. But when she went to call her daughter, she was refused.

”Mom, I just talked to grandma, and I’ve decided to stay for a while before going home.”

”Yunfang, don’t cause trouble for your grandmother. Your grandfather is so busy, and grandma doesn’t have that much time, so you should come home with me.”

Thinking of her grandfather, Shu Yunfang indeed felt hesitated. She didn’t know why, but her grandfather never liked her, not even her mother Ding Yating, so she was more afraid of her grandfather since she was a child. But thinking of her grandmother’s promise, she decided to stay.

Ding Yating tried to persuade her for a long time, but seeing her daughter unwilling to return, she had no choice but to go home herself.

On the other hand, after Yiyi chatted for a long time with Old Mrs. Gu, she also went home. When her mother Ding Yuejun asked about the birthday banquet, she just smiled and said it was okay.

Ding Yuejun didn’t ask any more questions seeing this. She had been busy running around lately, so time was really tight. After chatting with her daughter for a while, she went back to her room to work.

”Ring, ring, ring...”

Yiyi was about to go back to her room when the phone rang. She picked it up and found it was her godmother, Song Xiaoqing.

”Yiyi, I’ve heard about the Ding Family’s birthday banquet today. It must have been quite hard on you. I really didn’t expect the old lady not to support you as her granddaughter and even said sarcastic things instead. I’m really sorry.”

Hearing this, Yiyi hurriedly said, ”Godmother, this isn’t your fault. You don’t need to apologize.”

Song Xiaoqing felt helpless about the relationship between the old lady and Yiyi. Finally, she couldn’t help but suggest, ”Yiyi, why don’t you come over for a meal tomorrow? I’ll cook some nice dishes for you myself.”

”Godmother, you really don’t have to go through all that trouble.”

Yiyi felt that there was no need for Song Xiaoqing to apologize, let alone cook personally, otherwise, she would feel a bit embarrassed.

”Yiyi, just come over. I kind of want to eat them myself.”

Hearing this, Yiyi couldn’t refuse any further, so she smiled and nodded, saying, ”Okay, godmother, I’ll come over tomorrow morning.”

The next morning, Yiyi directly carried some fruit to the Song Family.

Song Xiaoqing was very happy to see Yiyi.

”Yiyi, you’re here. Come in and sit.” Then she started chatting with her about everyday matters.

However, halfway through, Song Xiaoqing still apologized to Yiyi regarding the old lady’s matters.

Yiyi quickly waved her hand and said, ”Godmother, there’s really no need for you to apologize. Old Mrs. Song never liked me, so I’m not too surprised or angry about this happening.”

Song Xiaoqing couldn’t help but sigh.

”Yesterday I didn’t go to the Ding Family because I was feeling weak, and I hadn’t expected such a thing to happen. Had I known, I should have gone with them.”

Hearing this, Yiyi asked with some concern, ”Godmother, what’s wrong? Have you been feeling unwell ever since you threw up last time?”

Upon hearing this, Song Xiaoqing nodded and said, ”Now that you mention it, I’ve felt a bit weak and have no appetite since then, but there are no other symptoms, and my spirits are good, so I didn’t pay much attention to it. Yesterday morning, when I got up, I just felt weak, so I didn’t go to Old Mrs. Ding’s birthday banquet.”

”Godmother, it’s been so many days. Why didn’t you go to the hospital for a check-up?”

Song Xiaoqing said unconcernedly, ”As you age, there will always be various problems, so you don’t need to worry. Look at me today; I’m fine, not feeling weak at all.”

Seeing Song Xiaoqing full of smiles and indeed in good spirits, Yiyi didn’t say anything more.

By lunchtime, Song Chi also came back. Seeing that his wife had been feeling unwell, he made it a point to come home and have lunch with her whenever he could.

Seeing the Song couple still so affectionate even now, Yiyi felt a bit envious.

But before lunch began, Old Mrs. Song showed up with Wei Li, saying, ”What, you’re having a meal without calling us?”

Hearing this, Song Xiaoqing couldn’t help but bite her lip, and she finally stood up with a smile and said, ”Mom, you and Wei Li please sit down. You came at a good time; lunch is just ready. If I had known you were coming, I would have asked the kitchen to prepare a couple of your favorite dishes.”

Usually, they ate separately from Old Mrs. Song in their respective courtyards and never together. Song Xiaoqing truly didn’t expect that without her invitation, Old Mrs. Song would suddenly decide to come over and eat with them.

After what happened yesterday, the old lady actually came directly to see Yiyi again.

Seeing Old Mrs. Song, Yiyi looked cold, and she didn’t maintain the previous surface harmony anymore, as it was unnecessary.

Seeing Yiyi like this, Old Mrs. Song couldn’t help but snort coldly and said, ”Look at your manners, not even acknowledging your elders. Song Chi and the others were too hasty at the time to have accepted a daughter like you.”

Seeing the two about to argue, Song Xiaoqing was a bit anxious on the side, and in her haste, she felt her body a bit uncomfortable, even her stomach churned a little. But she kept it in and continued to mediate.

However, Old Mrs. Song wouldn’t listen to any advice and continued to scold with an unsightly expression. In the end, Song Xiaoqing couldn’t hold it and vomited.

Seeing this, Yiyi hurriedly and nervously asked, ”Godmother, are you okay?”

Even Song Chi couldn’t sit still anymore.

”Xiaoqing, I told you to see a doctor before, but you insisted on toughing it out. Now it hasn’t gotten better. We’re going to the hospital now.”

But when they got the results at the hospital, Song Chi was completely stunned.
