The Rebirth of the Fierce Little Cute Girl

Chapter 203: Chapter 203: Old Mrs. Gu

Upon hearing Gu Tingyu’s words, Yiyi was surprised, ”Are you really cooking lunch for me? Did you buy the ingredients?”

”Don’t worry, I’ve got everything ready.”

Gu Tingyu chuckled and ruffled Yiyi’s hair. Seeing her eyes gleaming, he felt very happy. It turned out he was right; she was delighted to eat his cooking, much like the last time with the barbecue. ”Let’s go inside first. You can watch TV for a bit; I’ll be done shortly.”

Once inside, Yiyi didn’t just sit idly by; she joined him in the kitchen to help.

”Yiyi, you should rest, I’ve got it covered.”

Yiyi shook her head directly, saying, ”No need. I’m not tired. Helping out together will make things faster.”

Seeing her insistence, Gu Tingyu smiled and said nothing more. In the end, Yiyi washed and prepared the vegetables, while Gu Tingyu handled the cooking. Working seamlessly together, they quickly prepared four dishes and one soup.

”Yiyi, take the soup out while I serve the rice.”

”Okay.”

Yiyi cheerfully carried out the soup. Once she sat down, Gu Tingyu placed a bowl of rice in front of her, arranging the chopsticks and spoon, ”Start eating quickly before it gets cold and less tasty.”

Looking at the black pepper beef strips, sweet and sour fish, crab stew, stir-fried vegetables, and pork rib tofu soup before her, Yiyi eagerly picked up the rice bowl and started eating. These dishes were her favorites, and Gu Tingyu’s culinary skills were impressive, making everything taste excellent.

After finishing two bowls of rice, Yiyi finally put down the chopsticks, ”Burp... I’m so full.”

Upon hearing herself burp, Yiyi quickly covered her mouth. She burped right in front of Gu Tingyu, which was a bit awkward.

Yet, seeing Yiyi like this, Gu Tingyu found it amusing, thinking that she was straightforwardly adorable. ”As long as you like it, I was worried that you might not enjoy my cooking.”

”No way! Your cooking is really delicious. I love it.”

Hearing this, Gu Tingyu’s lips curved slightly, showing his joy.

At that moment, a voice came from outside, ”Tingyu, I knew you’d be here. Grandma has come to visit.”

With the voice, a kind-faced elderly lady walked in. Seeing Yiyi, her face was full of surprise, which quickly turned into delight. ”Oh, there’s a guest here! Tingyu, hurry up and introduce her to grandma.”

Gu Tingyu hadn’t expected Grandma to visit, but since he and Yiyi were just having a meal together, there was nothing to hide. He straightforwardly introduced, ”Grandma, this is Mo Yiyi, my friend. She just started school today, and I invited her over for lunch.”

Yiyi hadn’t anticipated meeting Gu Tingyu’s grandma here. She promptly stood up and greeted her.

Seeing the beautiful girl, Grandma Gu was overjoyed.

”You’re Yiyi, no need to stand up, please sit down and continue eating.”

Yiyi quickly replied, ”Grandma Gu, I’ve already finished eating.”

Then Gu Tingyu asked, ”Grandma, have you had lunch yet? If not, why not join us for a bite? I cooked these dishes especially today, and they taste pretty good.”

Upon hearing her grandson’s words, Grandma Gu was full of surprise.

”Did you cook these?”

Gu Tingyu nodded directly, ”Yes, and Yiyi said they taste good too. If you haven’t eaten, do join us.”

”Alright, I’ll have a little then.”

Although Grandma Gu had already eaten, she had never tasted her grandson’s cooking before. She certainly wanted to try it today no matter what. ”I’m not very hungry, just a little will do.”

Hearing this, Gu Tingyu only served grandma a bit of rice.

As she drank the pork rib tofu soup, Grandma Gu praised, ”Tingyu, who would’ve thought you have such skill, it’s delicious, really delicious.”

Seeing grandma being so happy eating, Gu Tingyu smiled and said, ”Then please eat more.”

Grandma Gu, having eaten beforehand, became full quickly. She excitedly pulled Yiyi into conversation, ”Yiyi, so how did you come to know our Tingyu?”

From the first glance, Yiyi had liked Grandma Gu, who was really an amiable elderly lady. Thus, she cheerfully recounted her encounters and how she met Gu Tingyu.

Grandma Gu’s eyes brightened the more she listened, eventually clapping her hands, ”Oh my, so that’s how you met our Tingyu, truly it’s fate.” Then she remembered her grandson mentioning before, ”I remembered now, you’re Xiaoqing’s god-daughter, aren’t you?”

”Yes, that’s me.”

Just then, Gu Tingyu brought over some sliced fruit, ”Grandma, Yiyi, have some fruit.”

”Gu Tingyu, you should sit down and eat some fruit too. You haven’t stopped since you came in.”

Upon Yiyi’s words, Gu Tingyu sat down with a smile to join Grandma Gu and Yiyi in conversation.

Grandma Gu glanced at Yiyi, her eyes full of laughter.

She hadn’t missed the obvious delight in Yiyi’s eyes, so this girl must like her grandson. Similarly, there was a sparkle in her grandson’s eyes whenever he looked at this girl, indicating he liked her too. Clearly, the two shared a mutual affection, which was wonderful. Perhaps she’d soon have a granddaughter-in-law.

Thinking of this, Grandma Gu was quite excited. She subtly asked Yiyi many questions, even finding out which dorm she stayed in.

”Tingyu, Yiyi just started school in Shangjing, so she might not be familiar with the area. Make sure to take care of her when you have time.”

Gu Tingyu naturally nodded and said, ”Of course, whenever I’m free, I’ll visit her.”

Seeing her grandson finally be attentive to a young lady, Grandma Gu was almost moved to tears, ”That’s good. I came to see you today and brought some food along.” But in the end, she gave all the food to Yiyi. ”Yiyi, if Tingyu wants something, he can come to grandma’s place to get it, so you take these with you later. Also, I’ll be heading back now, you two take your time chatting.”

The best thing would be not interrupting the couple’s time together, so leaving quickly was the right thing to do.

”Grandma Gu is really kind.”

After Grandma Gu left, Yiyi couldn’t help but remark.

Seeing Yiyi liked grandma, Gu Tingyu couldn’t help but feel relieved, then encouraged with a smile, ”Grandma is always easy-going, talk to her more, and you’ll get along even better.”

Meanwhile, back home, Grandma Gu shouted to her husband, ”Old man, old man, we’re about to have great-grandchildren soon!”

Upon hearing this, Mr. Gu couldn’t help but frown, ”What are you talking about? Tingyu and Tinghao haven’t even married yet. How could we have great-grandchildren?”

”Old man, I’m serious this time. Our Tingyu brought a girl home and even cooked for her. Wouldn’t you say that’s close?”
