Zenless Zone Zero: The Almighty Incubus of Sixth Street

It was already getting late, and Wise decided to find a place for Venus to spend the night.

The original plan was to book a hotel, but Venus chose to return home instead because she couldn’t bear to leave her three pets behind.

Upon arriving home, Venus let out a sigh of relief when she saw that her three pets were safe and sound in her room.

Today’s experience had been quite frightening, but thankfully, she had someone reliable by her side.

”Thank you, Wise. It’s so good to have you with me.”

The sense of security Wise provided made Venus hold his hand tightly the entire way home. Even so, she did her best to maintain the image of a mature and dependable big sister.

”No need to thank me. I just did what I needed to do. Go get some rest. I think everything will be fine by tomorrow.”

”Wait...”

Venus reached out and pulled Wise back just as he was about to leave. Realizing what she had done, her face flushed slightly.

”Wait a moment... If, if it’s possible... could you stay a little longer? Of course, if it’s too much trouble...”

Since she had always acted as an older sister to Wise, saying something like that now felt awkward.

Wise, of course, had no intention of refusing. There was still plenty of time before the agreed-upon operation, more than enough for him to help Venus fall asleep first.

However, Venus, having successfully convinced Wise to stay, didn’t intend for it to end there. When emotions run deep, little accidents are bound to happen.

Much later, Wise, lying on Venus’s bed, sensed that the person beside him had fallen asleep and quietly got up to leave. But when he returned, he noticed that the bedding and pillows were more disheveled than before.

At first, he assumed it was because she slept restlessly. However, the moment he lay back down, Venus immediately wrapped her arms around him, and the two slept soundly until morning.

As the sunlight filled the room, Venus, who had just woken up, was clearly still feeling a little shy.

The new Proxy she had once treated like a younger brother had somehow become something more.

What was this sudden sense of guilt?

Was she doing something wrong by becoming involved with this young man?

Venus cradled her flushed cheeks as those thoughts ran through her mind.

Wise noticed her reaction but said nothing. Instead, he simply got up and prepared breakfast as usual.

Sitting at the dining table, Venus’s gaze never left Wise, and a happy smile lingered on her face the entire time.

”If you don’t eat, it’ll get cold.”

”Ah, yes, yes.”

Reminded by his words, Venus felt slightly embarrassed and quickly picked up her phone to distract herself.

”Hey? Wise, look! Black Anchor has been completely wiped out! Public Security did it, right? That’s amazing!”

”Yeah. Now we can finally rest easy.”

Wise nodded, unsurprised. Eliminating a small gang overnight was entirely possible.

Yet seeing his calm reaction only made Venus more suspicious. Even so, she chose not to say anything.

After noticing a message from her mother, however, Venus found herself thinking that if she told her about Wise, her mother would probably be delighted.

As she hesitated, she suddenly felt something touch her lips.

Instinctively, she accepted it and began to chew.

”Delicious! Hmm... Wise, why are you...”

”I saw you were busy replying to messages, so I’ll feed you.”

Wise casually brought another spoonful toward her mouth.

Venus wanted to refuse, but she simply couldn’t win against him.

Their cozy breakfast soon came to an end. Wise was planning to take Venus out for a stroll when someone rang the doorbell.

Standing outside was a timid-looking girl.

Venus was surprised to see her, but her surprise quickly turned to concern.

”It’s you. Is something wrong? Why did you come here so suddenly? Did a client give you trouble?”

”No, no. I was just worried about you, Sister, so I came to check on you.”

After confirming that Venus was safe, the girl visibly relaxed.

She seemed a little surprised when she noticed Wise standing nearby, but only for a moment.

”Actually... I’ve been wondering if I’m too timid and not suited to be a Proxy. If I hadn’t given up back then and had followed them to finish the commission...”

”No!”

Before the girl could finish speaking, Venus firmly interrupted her.

”You made the right choice. If you ever encounter something like that again, you should do exactly the same thing. I can guarantee it. Even a Proxy like Phaeton would make the same decision in that situation.”

To reassure her further, Venus showed her the news she had been reading earlier.

”Even the scariest gangs are afraid of Public Security. As long as you follow the Proxy’s Guide, no matter what happens later, I, your big sister, will help you sort it out~”

”Really? Thank you! I’ll work hard on my commissions!”

The girl looked visibly reassured. Without wasting any more time, she left with a cheerful skip in her step.

”She’s the Proxy who gave up the Black Anchor commission, right?” Wise asked.

”Yes. Normally, I should keep every Proxy’s identity confidential, but if it’s you, it’s fine.”

Venus smiled as she confirmed his guess. Her trust in him went beyond words.

”Let’s go to Port Elpis, enjoy the sea breeze, take in the sights, and then I’ll handle some work afterward~”

Having already agreed to the outing, Wise spent the rest of the morning with Venus.

It wasn’t until nearly noon that the two finally parted ways.

However, on his way back, Wise unexpectedly ran into Evelyn, who was carrying several bags of medicine.

”Wise. I didn’t expect to see you here.”

Perhaps because she had run into someone she wanted to see, a faint smile appeared on Evelyn’s usually aloof face.

However, Wise’s attention was focused entirely on the bag in her hand.

”Why are you buying so much medicine? Did you get hurt?”

”No. Just some extra medicine. I’m simply restocking out of habit.”

Evelyn gestured for him not to worry. However, looking at the contents of the bag, wound medicine, gauze, painkillers, and other supplies, it looked far less like routine restocking and far more like preparation for battle.

As if reading Wise’s thoughts, Evelyn explained further.

”Some of them are things I use regularly. As for the rest... they’re for old injuries that occasionally remind me they’re still there. I just treat them when they flare up. It’s nothing serious. Still, I feel more at ease when I have plenty of medicine prepared.”

”Old injuries? Are they serious? Why have you never told me about them?”

Wise’s suddenly serious tone caught Evelyn off guard.

She understood that he was worried about her, but she had long since grown accustomed to living with those injuries.
