Zenless Zone Zero: The Almighty Incubus of Sixth Street

Chaotic Fried Rice (Astra): Wise~ Are you there? Why aren’t you replying? If this keeps up, you’ll lose me (｡í _ ì｡).

Biggest Fan (Wise): I’m here, sorry. I was busy just now. Is there something you need me for?

A few days after the previous events, Wise suddenly received a message from Astra.

He glanced at Belle, who was sitting beside him and not paying attention, before lowering his gaze back to his phone.

Chaotic Fried Rice (Astra): I’m looking for inspiration. I’m halfway through writing a new song, but I’m stuck. It just doesn’t feel right... Oh?

Chaotic Fried Rice (Astra): If only I had some novel experiences to give me some inspiration.

’Hmm, it looks like she’s about to get to the point,’ Wise thought with an amused smile.

Chaotic Fried Rice (Astra): Oh right, Wise, are you free? Let’s go out and have some fun, just the two of us, and help me find some inspiration!

Biggest Fan (Wise): No problem. So... I can provide you with inspiration?

Chaotic Fried Rice (Astra): Of course you can! As long as I’m with you, I encounter many happy things. It’s perfect for writing sweet songs! But where should we go?

Chaotic Fried Rice (Astra): Oh right, it’s best to go somewhere with fewer people. It’s not that I’m afraid of people seeing us together, it’s just that if I get recognized, autographs and photos and such will take up a lot of time.

In the end, Wise suggested they go to Port Elpis, and Astra happily agreed, as she quite enjoyed watching others fish, especially when she was with Wise.

Not long after, he met Astra at Port Elpis.

”You’re here! The weather is nice today, so there should be quite a few people fishing. Let’s go. I wonder how their catches are~”

Whether it was an illusion or not, Astra’s tone seemed to carry a hint of mischief, as if she had already anticipated some people returning empty-handed.

”Oh right, should I hold your hand? I don’t mind if others see us.”

Although she said that, Astra had already linked her arm with Wise’s.

As soon as the two arrived at the seashore, they immediately spotted the old man and the young man from last time, Grandpa Gu and Feng.

Astra walked over to ask about their catches, and as expected, Grandpa Gu was still empty-handed, while Feng beside him had already caught three fish in a row.

He even had a premonition that he would catch a new species of fish today, one he had never seen before.

But as soon as he mentioned this...

”A new species of fish, huh? If it really appears, does the person who catches it have the right to name it?”

Astra’s words once again sparked a debate between the old man and the young man.

She found their argument quite interesting, then turned to face Wise beside her.

”What about you, Wise? If you caught a new fish, what would you name it?”

”Hmm... Probably I would call it Astra Fish. How does that sound?” he said with a smile.

”Hey, what kind of name is that! Then I’ll name the fish I catch Wise Fish! Hey, don’t tell me, that name sounds like a very light fish~”

Astra first expressed her dissatisfaction before joking in a relaxed tone.

”In that case, the Astra Fish must be a very beautiful and singing fish.”

”Oh? Hmph~ Always saying such sweet things.”

Wise’s words made Astra very happy, but then she suddenly felt a little sentimental.

”Hmm, for a moment... I thought it wouldn’t be bad to be an Astra Fish, just for a moment!”

In reality, if Astra were to name a fish, she would choose to call it Charming Friend Fish, saying it was because it was a new fish caught with a charming friend.

However, her true purpose was that if someone asked in the future what Grandpa Gu had caught, he would answer ”Charming Friend Fish,” leaving the other person completely confused.

Astra told the joke to Wise, but it also completely broke Grandpa Gu’s spirit. He declared that he absolutely had to catch a fish today to show the two of them.

So, Wise and Astra watched the fishing while enjoying the sea breeze. After chatting for a long time, Grandpa Gu finally caught his first fish.

”Hmm, I’m a little hungry, Wise. Do you want to go to the fast-food restaurant over there for some fries? My treat!” Astra said, pointing toward the fast-food restaurant not far away.

From her expression, she seemed to already be immersed in the scent of the fries drifting through the air.

Seeing this, Wise didn’t refuse. Soon after, they ordered three portions of fries at the fast-food restaurant, one for Wise and two for Astra.

”Why did you order two portions? Are you taking one for Evelyn?”

Wise looked at Astra beside him, who was blowing on her fries, slightly confused. She stopped what she was doing after hearing his question.

”Of course not. Fries are best when they’re hot. They’d be cold if I took them back, and besides, if Eve knew, she’d just nag me again.”

”Then this is...”

”Hehe, because this portion isn’t for me to eat~ Watch this...”

Astra took out a fry, held it up high, and made a gesture as if she were about to eat it.

Suddenly, a seagull swiftly swooped down and snatched the fry away.

The movement was so clean and precise that it was obvious the bird had planned it beforehand.

”Did you see that? Did you see that? A seagull eating fries!”

Astra excitedly shook Wise beside her. From her expression, her intention was obvious.

”So this portion of fries was for feeding the seagulls?”

”Yes, I observed them specifically before. They’re quite picky. If you really buy a box of fries and put it on the table, they don’t eat it with the same enthusiasm. It’s like how cats only love drinking water from your cup. Seagulls probably also want to experience the joy of snatching food from others.”

Astra eloquently explained her theory, then looked at Wise beside her and couldn’t help but smile.

”What? Wise, do you want to try too? No need to snatch, I’ll feed you. Say... Ah~”

As she spoke, Astra held up another fry, her slender, fair fingers contrasting sharply against the golden, crispy snack.

But just then, a seagull, unaware of its own danger, flew over, its target clearly being the fry in Astra’s hand.

However, just as it was about to approach, the seagull suddenly felt its body firmly grasped by a hand.

Needless to say, the owner of that hand was naturally Wise.

’Hmph, trying to snatch something from my mouth? That’s a bit too naïve.’

He glanced contemptuously at the seagull he had caught, which was now frozen in fear, then opened his mouth and ate the fry.

However, Astra herself seemed to have been startled by Wise’s sudden action, causing her to feed him with slightly too much force. As a result, her finger was also taken into his mouth.

”Mmm... Sorry, I’ll get a tissue right away.”

”It’s okay, I have a handkerchief.”

Wise quickly released her finger after realizing what had happened, while Astra, with a slight blush, took out a handkerchief and symbolically wiped it.

Then, perhaps to ease the awkwardness, she continued holding up another fry with her hand. However, the seagull Wise had released earlier seemed to still have mischievous intentions.

It attacked again, and with a whoosh, it snatched the entire box of fries, leaving Astra standing there frozen in place.

”Ah... This...”

”This is more than just snatching food... Even the food bowl was overturned. Is it taking revenge for what just happened?”

Wise couldn’t help but marvel. The seagulls here were truly audacious.

Beside him, Astra also puffed out her small cheeks.

”The seagulls here... are so disrespectful!”
