Zenless Zone Zero: The Almighty Incubus of Sixth Street

After Wise’s gentle persuasion, Miyabi agreed not to go to Public Security for the time being.

”Not going to Public Security is fine, but...” Miyabi said before taking Wise’s hand, her eyes filled with anticipation. ”I want to stroll through the streets and visit the places I like... with you.”

She was clearly inviting him on a date, and naturally, Wise had no intention of refusing.

The two walked hand in hand down the street. Occasionally, passersby glanced their way in recognition, but no one was impolite enough to interrupt their time together.

As they passed a beauty salon, an advertisement for Thiren hair care at the entrance immediately caught Miyabi’s attention.

”Wise, do you think... my ears need some care?”

As she spoke, her fox ears twitched a few times, making her look especially adorable.

”Your ears already feel very soft and pleasant to the touch, but if you think they need some care, come to me. I’ve done a bit of research in that area.”

That wasn’t an exaggeration. Before meeting Miyabi, Wise had known a Cat Thiren, so he figured the methods for caring for cat ears would probably apply to a Fox Thiren as well.

He made a mental note to brush up on it when he got home.

Hearing his answer, Miyabi nodded thoughtfully.

”Mm, I understand. I won’t let anyone else touch my ears.”

”Uh... I didn’t mean... Never mind. That’s good too.”

Later, as they crossed the street, Wise suddenly felt a gentle tug on his hand.

Turning around, he found Miyabi standing with her feet together on one white stripe of the crosswalk before lightly hopping onto the next.

Seeing this, Wise smiled helplessly but didn’t urge her along. He knew she had entered one of her unusual training modes again.

Each graceful hop was accompanied by the light click of her heels against the pavement. It looked amusing, but traffic lights weren’t known for their patience.

They had only made it about a third of the way across before the green light began flashing.

Miyabi’s expression immediately turned serious.

”Wise, we need to speed up!”

”Ah? Oh!”

The moment he responded, Miyabi accelerated, reaching the opposite side almost instantly while pulling Wise along with her.

”Crosswalk jumping training complete.”

Pleased that Wise had kept up, Miyabi raised her hand for a high-five. Smiling, Wise returned it.

Afterward, Miyabi noticed a nearby general store.

As though remembering something, her ears perked up.

”Wait, I think I have something to buy,” she said as she headed toward the entrance.

However, the moment she arrived, she frowned slightly.

”Hmm... What was it again...?”

”Honeydew melon-flavored lollipops?” Wise suggested.

”Oh! Where?” Miyabi immediately hurried back to his side, her eyes locking onto the lollipop in his hand.

”Well, let’s get these first. But what was it you originally wanted to buy?”

Miyabi shook her head before making another suggestion.

”Wise, take a picture of me in front of the general store. Seeing the photo might help me remember what I forgot.”

Wise smiled at the suggestion.

”If that’s the case, I can help you remember.”

”You can?”

”Of course. My memory is excellent,” he replied before thinking, ’Otherwise, how could I remember every girl’s preferences?’

His confidence brought a faint smile to Miyabi’s face. Even so, she still insisted on taking a photo, changing only one detail.

This time, she wanted both of them in it.

Miyabi simply felt it was necessary, and Wise naturally had no reason to refuse.

”In that case,” he suggested, ”Why don’t we take it somewhere nicer?”

”Mm, whatever you say.”

Not long afterward, they arrived at the small riverside plaza in Lumina Square.

”The scenery here is beautiful. Becoming stronger means protecting the scenery I cherish...”

Miyabi quietly admired the view before turning toward Wise.

”Of course, you’re also part of this scenery.”

”Miyabi, I want to protect you just as much as you want to protect me.”

Almost unconsciously, Wise slipped an arm around her waist. Rather than resisting, Miyabi leaned gently into him.

”Take the picture like this. Keep this pose, okay?”

”Of course.”

Wise took out his phone, and the two stood close together as he framed the shot.

Just as he was about to press the shutter, Miyabi suddenly cupped his face with both hands and kissed him.

The camera captured the moment perfectly.

”I really like this photo. You’re very good at taking pictures, Wise. I’ll treasure today’s photo.”

After Wise sent it to her, Miyabi happily admired the picture on her phone, clearly unable to hide how much she loved it.

”As long as you like it. Though I have to admit, you really caught me by surprise just now.”

”Hmm? You didn’t like it?”

”Of course I did. If anything, seeing such an assertive side of you is surprisingly charming,” Wise answered with a smile, unaware that Miyabi had taken his words completely to heart.

”Then I’ll be even more assertive in the future.”

Her declaration left Wise with a vague sense of foreboding. Still, noticing how late it had become, he realized it was nearly time to head home.

”Wise, come to my house tonight?” Miyabi asked, gently tugging on his arm.

It was something he had already promised, so there was no reason to refuse.

Not long after he agreed, Miyabi called for a car to pick them up.

Watching the scenery race past outside the window, they soon arrived at the Hoshimi family residence. As expected of one of New Eridu’s most prominent families, the estate was undeniably luxurious.

Since the head of the family, Souichirou, Miyabi’s father, was still away at a meeting, he hadn’t returned home yet.

Miyabi initially offered to have the butler give Wise a tour, but when he politely declined, she simply led him straight to her room.

Compared to the lavish mansion outside, Miyabi’s bedroom was surprisingly modest. Aside from a large bed that looked exceptionally comfortable, the room was simply furnished, reflecting her understated personality.

Only a few framed photographs atop a cabinet immediately drew his attention.

”So this is your room, Miyabi? It really suits your personality...”

Before Wise could finish, he felt a gentle force against his chest.

Caught completely off guard, he stumbled backward onto the bed.

In the very next instant, Miyabi climbed onto the mattress and straddled his abdomen, pinning him in place before he fully realized what had happened.

The soft warmth of her body enveloped him as everything unfolded in a single heartbeat.

”Miyabi?!” Wise exclaimed in surprise.

Knowing her father would likely be home at any moment, Wise instinctively opened his mouth to ask what she was planning, but Miyabi gave him no chance to speak.
