Super Rich by Doing as You Please

Chapter 713: Chapter 315: A Triple Promotion, Jian Shiwai is Completely Dumbfounded

A sub-branch of the Jiangcheng Construction Bank.

As soon as Jian Shiwai arrived in the morning, her subordinate informed her that overseas funds had been continuously flowing into Xu Yun’s account since last night.

Jian Shiwai wasn’t surprised by this at all. “Which fund is it this time?” she asked. “How much was transferred?”

“Not just one. It was fifty different funds.”

The subordinate replied with a mixture of excitement and bewilderment, “And each fund transferred a different amount—some large, some small.”

“That many?”

“Yes! And in total, it comes out to exactly ten billion!”

The subordinate swallowed hard and added, “Mr. Xu’s account now has over twenty billion in cash.”

!!!

This time, Jian Shiwai couldn’t remain calm. She immediately followed her subordinate to check Xu Yun’s account.

Meanwhile, Gao Xing, who had not yet officially left his post, also received the information about Xu Yun right away. After his initial shock, he quickly reported it to President Dai.

Upon hearing Gao Xing’s report at the main branch, President Dai immediately gave the matter his full attention.

If having a deposit of ten billion made someone the richest person in Jiangcheng, then Xu Yun, with his twenty billion, was undoubtedly approaching the level of the absolute elite.

As a bank insider, he knew that according to information disclosed by the major banks, there were about 1,000 people in the entire country with personal deposits exceeding ten billion.

But only about 100 people had deposits of over twenty billion!

As for the tycoons with even larger deposits, that was information beyond his reach.

After all, even if such people existed, they would be the super-VIPs of the major banks, and their details would never be disclosed to outsiders.

Even within his own Construction Bank, President Dai only knew about his own main branch; he had no idea who had the largest personal deposits at the head office or other branches, or how much they had.

Only a select few at the top, like the number one in command, had access to that kind of information.

But now, the appearance of a super-whale like Xu Yun would undoubtedly allow his branch to stand out from all the others!

He refused to believe that, aside from the head office and a few major coastal cities, anyone else had a client with personal deposits exceeding twenty billion!

Beyond his excitement, President Dai began to consider his next move.

After the last incident, he was well aware of the special relationship between Jian Shiwai and Xu Yun.

‘So, rather than trying to curry favor with a difficult whale like Xu Yun, it’s better to please his woman.’

‘If she’s happy, maybe he’ll be happy, and some things will become much easier to handle.’

At this thought, President Dai felt that promoting Jian Shiwai after the New Year was no longer appropriate; it had to be moved up.

‘And it can’t just be a promotion to sub-branch governor,’ he decided. ‘Straight to main branch governor, all in one go!’

‘That’ll let her have a happy New Year.’

‘This might not follow company procedures, but it falls under the policy for exceptional talent.’

He wasn’t afraid even if disgruntled subordinates complained to the head office.

He believed that with the twenty billion in deposits Jian Shiwai controlled, the higher-ups would act pragmatically.

So he summoned his secretary to the office and said, “Xiaowang, go and inform the executive committee that we’ll be holding a meeting shortly.”

“Yes, President Dai.”

In her office, Dong Hongping was suddenly informed by the secretary that there would be an executive meeting in the afternoon, which made her a little suspicious.

‘Why call a meeting like this out of the blue?’

‘And why summon the entire executive committee?’

She tentatively asked the secretary, “Xiaowang, do you know what the topic of President Dai’s meeting is? Is there something specific to be discussed?”

“Manager Dong, I’m afraid I don’t know. I’m just responsible for relaying the message.”

“Alright, I understand.”

Dong Hongping said, “I’ll get ready and be right there.”

“Okay, I’ll go inform the other leaders then.”

Since everyone was at the main branch headquarters, the secretary didn’t bother with phone calls or written notices, simply delivering the message in person at their doors.

A few moments later, everyone had gathered in the conference room.

There were five people in total.

Everyone looked quizzically at President Dai, who had called the meeting.

Dong Hongping cut straight to the point, asking, “President Dai, you gathered us for this meeting so urgently. Is there an emergency?”

“It’s about a personnel change that requires everyone’s vote.”

“For something like that, you could have just given Manager Dong a heads-up.”

Someone said with a smile, “She’s in charge of HR, after all.”

“For a routine personnel change, that would be fine, of course.”

President Dai said with a smile, “But this time, it concerns a change in the high-level leadership. We have to follow procedure.”

The room fell silent.

Dong Hongping immediately had a bad feeling. “I wonder,” she asked, “which one of us is President Dai planning to ‘adjust’?”

“Lao Liu hasn’t been in the best of health recently, and he’s reached retirement age. He just applied to me to step back from the front lines and enjoy his retirement.”

The others looked at Lao Liu.

His position was the current governor of the main branch.

Lao Liu had always been one of President Dai’s people, so being suddenly “retired” in a meeting like this caught him completely off guard.

But after seeing the look in President Dai’s eyes, he gritted his teeth and accepted it, forced into early retirement.

Seeing that Lao Liu had no objections, President Dai continued, “With Lao Liu retiring, the position of governor is now vacant. We need someone capable and responsible to fill it. I was wondering, does anyone have a good recommendation?”

Everyone present knew the score in situations like this; no one wanted to be the first to speak.

Dong Hongping was already on bad terms with President Dai, so she wasn’t afraid of offending him. She said bluntly, “I think Vice Governor Mou is an excellent choice. He has worked diligently under Lao Liu for years, and he has the ability and experience to be perfectly competent in the role.”

“What do you all think of Manager Dong’s recommendation?”
