Super Rich by Doing as You Please

It was all transferred from a single overseas fund account.

In one fell swoop, Xu Yun’s personal savings shot up to 54 million, far exceeding the previous amount!

’I was just talking about buying him some financial products,’ she thought. ’But looking at the speed he makes money, what damn financial products could he possibly need?’

’What financial product could ever make money this fast?’

’Could he be manipulating foreign fund organizations, preying on the stock market?’

Outside of the stock market, she truly couldn’t think of any legitimate business that could generate so much money so quickly!

”This Xu Yun... just who in the world is he?!”

Jian Shiwai was stunned. After a long moment, she stood up and headed back toward the branch manager’s office.

...

「In Western New City」

Lin Xi took the afternoon off and went to the commercial sales center with Zhu Jingheng.

A middle-aged manager greeted them.

Zhu Jingheng seemed to know him well. The two chatted and laughed for a while before getting to the topic of buying a storefront.

Zhu Jingheng explained that he wanted to buy two for investment, and his friend, Miss Lin, also wanted one.

Out of consideration for their friendship, the middle-aged manager gave them a discount, the best his authority allowed.

He knocked 200 yuan off the price per square meter, bringing it down to 7,000 yuan per square meter.

As the manager was helping them choose a unit, Zhu Jingheng looked at an entire street of storefronts in the middle that had already been sold and asked in confusion, ”These units here... are they all sold?”

”Yep. They were bought this morning.”

”Business is booming, huh? So many people are buying.”

”Not quite.”

The middle-aged manager explained, ”They were all bought by one young man.”

”Who? Who’s so loaded they’d buy an entire street?”

”I don’t know him. Never seen him before.”

The middle-aged man said, ”I only know his name is Xu Yun. From his accent, he sounds like a local. Do you know him?”

”!!!”

Hearing this, Zhu Jingheng and Lin Xi froze on the spot.

’Xu Yun actually came and bought an entire street?’

This act once again shattered their understanding of him.

Seeing their shocked expressions, the middle-aged man figured they must know him.

”You really know him, buddy?”

”He was my high school classmate, but I haven’t seen him since graduation. I heard he was knocking around in Jiangcheng. We just saw him for the first time in years a few days ago.”

Zhu Jingheng asked subconsciously, ”How much did he spend to buy this street?”

”A total of 19 million, paid in full.”

The middle-aged manager added, ”We also gave him a 100-square-meter storefront for free.”

million!!!

That was more than all the assets he currently possessed combined!

’Good thing he doesn’t seem that interested in Lin Xi anymore,’ Zhu Jingheng thought. ’Otherwise, what would I even use to compete with him?’

As for Lin Xi, her feelings were as complicated as they could possibly be.

She had imagined Xu Yun was rich, but she never imagined he was *this* rich—buying storefronts not one by one, but an entire street at a time.

While the two were lost in their thoughts, the middle-aged manager continued, ”But that storefront we gave him for free... it seems he didn’t want it. He turned around and gave it to someone else—a woman, at that.”

”Our salesperson said she also seemed to be his high school classmate.”

”Gave it to a high school classmate? A female one?” Upon hearing this, Lin Xi’s attention snapped into focus.

She suddenly remembered—hadn’t Gao Wenwen come to look at properties with her colleague this morning?

’What a coincidence!’

’It couldn’t be her, could it?’

Lin Xi asked aloud, ”Manager, the high school classmate Xu Yun gave it to... it wouldn’t happen to be a woman named Gao Wenwen, would it?”

”I’m not sure about that. Let me ask for you.”

The middle-aged manager called over the saleswoman who had handled Xu Yun’s purchase that morning and asked, ”The storefront that President Xu gave away this morning, what was the woman’s name?”

”Gao Wenwen.”

The saleswoman replied, ”I remember it clearly. They were high school classmates.”

”Alright, I understand.”

After the saleswoman left, the middle-aged manager said, ”Since you were all high school classmates, you must know her, right?”

”Yes, we know her. She’s my best friend.”

”Your best friend is really lucky then.”

Lin Xi forced a bitter smile. ”She is.”

Xu Yun had just given her a 100-square-meter storefront.

And Gao Wenwen hadn’t mentioned a word about it to her this morning.

Zhu Jingheng’s feelings were also in turmoil.

He liked Lin Xi, but the most he could do was try to get her a small discount to lower the price.

But Xu Yun? He just straight-up gave a woman a property!

Comparing the two of them, the difference was stark.

He turned to look at the now-distracted Lin Xi and felt like a complete failure.

This time, the guy hadn’t even shown up, yet he had been invisibly and utterly crushed, completely defeated.

He finally understood how Xu Yun must have felt all those years ago when he couldn’t compete with him.

...

Back at the school, the teacher Wang Dan had spread the news about Gao Wenwen after all.

However, to maintain a good relationship with her colleague, she didn’t say anything else.

Everyone only knew that Gao Wenwen had a wealthy high school classmate who had generously gifted her a storefront.

This immediately made everyone incredibly envious.

When Gao Wenwen arrived at school that afternoon, everyone came over to ask questions, prying about her relationship with him.

Were they a couple?

Or had he been secretly in love with her all this time?

Were the flowers from the other day from him, too?

Gao Wenwen knew Wang Dan had a big mouth, but she never thought it was *this* big. She had turned right around and told everyone.

Tired of being asked, Gao Wenwen finally said, ”Yes, he’s my boyfriend. A total whale.”

As soon as she said it, the hearts of the male teachers who had crushes on Gao Wenwen turned to ash.

In the neighborhood mahjong parlor, Zhang Sujuan received a call from her second older brother.

They chatted for a while, and his words, both stated and unstated, all pointed to one thing.

Now that Xu Yun was successful and had made money, could he help out his cousin—the brother’s daughter?

Then he started talking about how hard his family had it, how she was their only daughter, and how they hoped she could have a better life.

He was playing the family card the whole time.

Zhang Sujuan couldn’t make a decision on something like this because she didn’t know the specifics of her son’s situation.

’Besides,’ she thought, ’when my own son fell on hard times, I don’t recall you lifting a finger to help him.’

’Just because some things go unsaid doesn’t mean they didn’t happen.’

So, Zhang Sujuan didn’t immediately agree just because he was her own brother. Instead, she said she would have to go back and ask Xu Yun before giving him an answer.

Or, he could just call Xu Yun directly.

After all, Xu Yun had said before that he started his business with a partner, so he didn’t have the final say on everything in the company.

Hearing that his younger sister couldn’t make the decision, Xu Yun’s uncle didn’t press the matter. He decided he would personally go find Xu Yun tomorrow to discuss it.

’I’m his uncle, after all,’ he thought. ’He wouldn’t refuse to help his own cousin, would he?’
