Super Rich by Doing as You Please

Five choices.

That’s one more option than a multiple-choice question on the college entrance exams!

But only kids bother with multiple-choice questions!

Adults don’t choose at all.

So he didn’t pick any of them. He didn’t reply to a single message and just went straight to bed.

There was no need to rush things.

Now that he was back in Jiangcheng, he’d have plenty of time and energy.

Back at the hotel, the others felt a little disappointed when Xu Yun didn’t reply. They consoled themselves, figuring he was at home with his mom and that it was normal for him not to come out. And with that, they went to sleep.

The next morning, bright and early, the group checked out of the hotel and drove back to Jiangcheng.

Xu Yun was up even earlier than them. After washing up, he left a note for his mom, then went to see everyone off.

After that, he checked the time, drove his Continental to an outdoor supply store, bought a set of outdoor clothes, changed into them, and then headed straight for the Taoyuan Mountain Scenic Area.

Half an hour later, he parked his car in the lot at the entrance to the scenic area.

Since he’d arrived rather early, there weren’t many tourists, so the lot wasn’t crowded with cars or people.

Xu Yun went to the ticket office to buy a ticket in advance.

It was 20 yuan for locals with an ID, and 60 yuan for non-locals.

Furthermore, locals were limited to one ticket per person.

He had originally planned to buy tickets for the others as well, even at the non-local price.

After all, they were all high school classmates. He didn’t mind spending such a small amount of money.

But since he didn’t know how many people were coming, he dropped the idea.

’Forget it. I’ll just let them buy their own when they get here.’

Xu Yun bought a ticket for himself and then found an empty spot to wait.

The morning air in the scenic area was fresh and crisp. He practiced the Eight Pieces of Brocade while waiting for Zheng Yi and the others.

The night before, they had agreed to meet at the entrance at 9:00 AM.

Around 8:40, Zheng Yi’s group arrived—four people in total, two men and two women, in two cars.

Zheng Yi was driving a Volkswagen Passat with one of the women, while the other two were in a Mercedes E-Class.

As soon as they got out of their cars, they noticed the sports car parked not far from them.

In an instant, all their eyes were glued to it.

”Zheng Yi, is that a Bentley Continental?”

”Yeah, it is. It’s known as the most beautiful coupe. I hear even the cheapest model costs over three million.”

”Say what you will, it’s expensive, but it really is a beautiful car.”

A pretty woman next to him chuckled and teased, ”Director Zheng, when are you going to get one of these?”

”My dear Teacher Gao, don’t joke around.”

Zheng Yi shook his head with a smile. ”I’ll probably never get the chance in this lifetime. I’m stuck driving this old Volkswagen.

You should ask our class president when he’s going to buy one and take us all for a spin.”

”I don’t have the means for that just yet.”

Zhu Jingheng, the former high school class president, said modestly, ”To make everyone’s wish come true, I’ll work hard and try to get one before I’m thirty.”

”Among all our high school classmates, you’re the one who’s doing the best and making the most money.”

Zheng Yi said, ”It’s a life to be envied.”

”What’s the use of making money?”

Being praised like this naturally made Zhu Jingheng happy.

He glanced, intentionally yet nonchalantly, at the pretty woman beside Zheng Yi and said, ”It’s not like I can find a girlfriend. I’m still single.”

”That’s because you don’t want to find one. With your qualifications, who knows how many women are into you.”

Gao Wenwen chimed in with a teasing smile, ”Everyone knows you’ve always had a crush on our study committee member, Lin Xi.

Be honest, the reason you haven’t found a girlfriend is that you’re still waiting for our Lin Xi, isn’t it?”

”Wenwen, don’t talk nonsense.”

The woman named Lin Xi shot her a look and said with a smile, ”He’s waiting for his true love.”

”Alright, that’s enough chatting. Let’s get going.”

Seeing that it was about time, Zheng Yi said, ”An old classmate is still waiting for us at the entrance.”

”There’s another classmate?”

Zhu Jingheng sounded surprised. ”Who else is here?”

”I’m not telling you yet. You’ll know when you see him.”

Zheng Yi said, ”I just happened to run into him at the supermarket the day before yesterday and found out he was back. I figured it’s been a long time, so I invited everyone to get together.”

”You’re being so mysterious about it.”

Gao Wenwen’s curiosity was piqued. ”Well, I can’t wait to see who it is.”

Lin Xi was also a little curious, wondering which classmate Zheng Yi had invited.

Suddenly, a certain person came to mind.

’Judging by Zheng Yi’s attitude... the male classmate he was closest with back in high school was... Xu Yun, wasn’t it?’

’Could he have invited Xu Yun?’

While she was still wondering, the group had already walked to the scenic area’s entrance.

Zheng Yi spotted Xu Yun from a distance and said, ”Over there, he’s right there!”

Everyone followed his gaze and saw Xu Yun.

A wave of irritation washed over Zhu Jingheng when he saw Xu Yun. ’I thought this would be a chance to go hiking with Lin Xi, the girl I like, and grow closer to her, but now Xu Yun has to show up. Back in high school, he and I both liked Lin Xi. We’re love rivals!’

But then his perspective shifted.

’Then again, we’re all adults now. It’s not like when we were young and only looks mattered. These days, it’s all about tangible assets. His handsome face isn’t much of a threat anymore. When it comes to financial status, I can completely and mercilessly crush him. It’s actually a good thing he’s here! Today, he can serve as the perfect foil to make Lin Xi see how outstanding and capable I am.’

”Oh, so it’s Xu Yun.”

Gao Wenwen leaned toward Lin Xi and whispered with a laugh, ”Look, another one of your old pursuers.”

”...” Lin Xi was speechless.

The group walked up to Xu Yun, who greeted them with a smile, ”Hey, everyone.”
