Super Rich by Doing as You Please

Wang Dan said in a moment of realization, ”So you came here looking for him.”

”...”

”You’ve never dated anyone. Is it because of him?”

”But I can’t blame you,” Wang Dan said. ”He’s handsome and rich. Who wouldn’t be interested?”

”No, we’re just high school classmates.”

Gao Wenwen said, ”It’s impossible between us. We’re from two different worlds.”

”That’s true. A guy like him is probably never short on women.”

”Alright, let’s go,” Gao Wenwen said with a smile. ”Let’s not talk about him anymore. I’ll go with you to check out some other storefronts.”

”Okay.”

「In the second-floor office.」

The middle-aged manager poured Xu Yun a cup of coffee and said with a smile, ”President Xu, I assume the sales agent went over the basics with you?”

”She did.”

Xu Yun asked, ”If I buy the entire street, can your company offer a better discount? Say, 200 yuan off per square meter.”

”That’s a difficult discount to arrange. The price is already rock bottom. However, I can make an executive decision and compensate you with some other perks.”

”What kind of perks?”

”How about this,” the middle-aged manager said after a moment of hesitation. ”If you can finalize everything and sign the contract today, President Xu, we’ll throw in a free storefront. You can pick any of the unsold units, as long as it’s no larger than 100 square meters. What do you think?”

The market value was around 600,000.

’That might sound like a lot, but compared to the cost of buying the whole street, it’s nothing. It’s not nearly as good a deal as 200 off per square meter.’

”In that case, go ahead and calculate the total. How much would it cost to buy all the storefronts on this street?”

”Of course. I’ll have someone calculate it right now.”

The middle-aged manager quickly called in two sales agents to start running the numbers, including the woman who had helped Xu Yun earlier.

This was a massive deal. Even though she wouldn’t get the full commission, her bonus was sure to be substantial.

The final tally showed that the main street had a total of 32 storefronts, with a combined area of 2,650 square meters.

At 7,200 yuan per square meter, the grand total came to 19.08 million yuan!

The middle-aged manager said with a smile, ”President Xu, for 32 storefronts totaling 2,650 square meters at 7,200 a square meter, the grand total is 19.08 million!

I’ll round that down for you to an even 19 million. How does that sound?”

”Done. Let’s sign the contract.”

Xu Yun didn’t hesitate. ”I’ll pay in full.”

’Buying an entire street for less than 20 million... This is a small county for you.’

’In a major city, this amount of money would probably only be enough for one or two larger shops in a prime location.’

A stunned silence fell over the office staff.

’They’d really run into a true tycoon today.’

’Nineteen million, and he agrees to buy just like that, without a moment’s hesitation. And he’s not even taking out a loan!’

’Since when did Jianghuai County have such a wealthy young master?’

’After all, the county was only so big, and the social circles were small. Everyone basically knew the wealthiest bosses.’

’But this Xu Yun was a complete unknown to him, as if he’d just appeared out of thin air.’

’You might think he was from out of town, but listening to his accent, he was clearly a local through and through.’

’But it didn’t matter who he was.’

’What mattered was that he was actually buying. He wasn’t bluffing or just fooling around.’

”Of course, President Xu. I’ll have someone draw up a new purchase agreement for you immediately. Our standard one won’t be suitable for this.”

”No problem, go ahead. I need to make a call to my bank first. Otherwise, with a sum this large, I’m afraid it might hit the transfer limit and won’t go through.”

”Of course.”

Xu Yun took out his phone, found the number for his private banker, Jian Shiwai, and dialed.

”Hello, President Xu.”

Over the phone, Jian Shiwai asked politely, ”How may I help you?”

”I’m going to need to transfer a large sum of money soon. I’m worried it’ll hit my limit, so could you help me adjust it?”

”May I ask how much you’ll be needing, President Xu?”

”Around 20 million.”

Xu Yun asked, ”Can that be done?”

”Twenty million?”

Jian Shiwai was taken aback. She hadn’t expected ”a large sum” to be *this* large.

’After all, his current personal account balance is just over 30 million. To use 20 million in one go—that’s two-thirds of his entire account.’

’It wasn’t just about the amount of money Xu Yun was spending. A 20 million withdrawal would cause a significant drop in their bank’s total deposits.’

’And what if he was being poached by another bank? What if this wasn’t a purchase, but a transfer of funds to a competitor?’

So Jian Shiwai asked cautiously, ”May I ask what this is for, President Xu? Why the sudden need for such a large amount?”

”It’s my money. I can’t use it?”

”Of course not. The money is yours, and you certainly have the right to do as you please with it.”

Sensing Xu Yun’s displeasure, Jian Shiwai immediately began to explain carefully.

”I was just concerned you might be getting scammed. There are a lot of telemarketing fraud cases these days, so it pays to be careful. The bank is just looking out for your financial security, Mr. Xu, to prevent any major losses.”

”That won’t be an issue. I’m just buying some property.”

”Just hurry up and take care of it for me. That’s all,” Xu Yun replied.

After hanging up, Jian Shiwai immediately dropped what she was doing and went straight to the branch manager to report the situation.

In less than a month, Xu Yun’s deposits had grown from 10 million to over 30 million, and that was with him constantly spending money.

This was more than enough to prove his financial power and potential.

As such, he was now one of the bank’s major clients, a VIP who required special treatment and was considered a top priority.

After hearing Jian Shiwai’s report and giving it some thought, the branch manager said, ”Go ahead and temporarily adjust his limit as requested.”

’It was no longer a question of whether he wanted to or not; he simply didn’t dare to offend Xu Yun.’

’Besides, the man was buying property. They couldn’t very well stop him, could they?’
