This Doctor Is Too Wealthy

This isn’t real guasha; it’s just scraping someone’s skin with a scraping board. At worst, it will scrape or bruise the skin; at worst, it will damage the subcutaneous tissue, resulting in bruises and marks.

It won’t cure your illness; instead, it’ll worsen your meridians.

Shi, don’t let a couple of thousand yuan keep you from seeing the bigger picture.”

Shi Jin laughed awkwardly, having his inner thoughts revealed, and hastily said, ”Aren’t you exaggerating a bit?”

Upon hearing this, Jin Zan knew Shi Jin indeed had such thoughts and quickly advised again, ”Shi, you don’t come from a traditional Chinese medicine background, so you may not know.

The role of massage is to relax muscles and soothe meridians. However, as relaxation occurs, the pores of the skin open wide, allowing external evil to enter.

Guasha, on the other hand, can be seen as a deeper massage, a heavyweight massage. The effect is doubled, but the side effects also increase.

Shi, you already have issues. If you don’t find a reliable master, it’ll be too late if something goes wrong.”

Embarrassed by Jin Zan’s words, Shi Jin promptly denied Jin Zan’s statement, telling him he was about to come see him.

Upon receiving this reply, Jin Zan finally felt relieved and calmly waited for Shi Jin to arrive at his office.

However, as two hours passed without seeing anyone, Jin Zan knew what had happened.

He silently sighed, giving up hope.

It will rain when it’s going to; a daughter will marry when it’s time. Let him be.

When Jin Zan forgot about this and was busy with his own things, Shi Jin visited again.

And it was merely two days since he broke his promise last time.

Early in the morning, Jin Zan had just picked up breakfast from the canteen and returned to his office. But at the office door, he saw Shi Jin, head hanging low.

Jin Zan walked up, sighed irritably yet helplessly but knowing Shi Jin’s character over the years as classmates, he gently said, ”Come in.”

This time, Jin Zan wasn’t too warm nor gave Shi Jin a friendly face. He moved to his seat and sat down without concern, beginning to eat his breakfast.

After taking a couple of bites, he finally said, ”Don’t just stand there; find a chair to sit on.”

Once Shi Jin sat down but still hung his head low, Jin Zan was inwardly exasperated, ”Shi, there’s no need for this. Who are you trying to show with that downcast head?

Just say what you want; I need to go for a ward round soon.”

Just after Jin Zan finished speaking, Shi Jin bitterly laughed, ”It’s not that I don’t want to lift my head; I can’t. The pain in the back of my neck feels like it’s being torn apart.”

Jin Zan casually glanced, then turned back to his breakfast unconcerned, ”Come on, we’ve been classmates for many years; there’s no need for such drama.

Get to the point. I genuinely need to go for a ward round. I did three surgeries yesterday and have to check on the patients afterward.”

”I’m not lying to you; I genuinely can’t lift my head. The back of my neck hurts too much.”

Jin Zan’s eating slowed, and he glanced again at the back of Shi Jin’s neck, frowning as he put down his breakfast, stood up to check Shi Jin’s neck.

When he lifted the collar and saw the back of Shi Jin’s neck clearly, he involuntarily grimaced and inhaled sharply.

Red, swollen, streaked with blood, and dotted with blood spots.

The originally slightly bulging yokohama bean now looked like a fist, shining brightly as if it could burst anytime, especially in the center, where it was blue-black, like clotted blood turned black.

Jin Zan slowly released his grip, baring his teeth and asking, ”How did you get this?”

Shi Jin sighed and said, ”There’s a physiotherapy store downstairs at our hospital. The physiotherapists there collaborate with us, and we’re familiar with each other.

So the day before yesterday, I went looking for one to give me a session.”

Jin Zan’s cheeks twitched hard, and a stream of air nearly erupted from his throat.

However, just as it began to trigger his tongue to speak, he suppressed it forcefully.

He then took a deep breath and asked, ”But surely it shouldn’t be this serious, should it? How much did you have to do to end up like this?”

Shi Jin lightly inhaled, speaking slowly, ”After the session the day before yesterday, it was fine. But after another one yesterday, this morning, my neck swelled and hurt so much that I couldn’t lift my head.”

Jin Zan pressed his lips hard, suddenly recalling the phrase, ’Heaven may forgive, but self-inflicted misdeeds cannot be undone.’

”I told you, guasha therapy is quite damaging to the body. You can’t do it consecutively; why wouldn’t you listen?” Jin Zan said, rather helplessly, ”I arranged for you to see Professor Cui, a professional, yet you feared spending those few extra hundred yuan and ditched me. What were you thinking?”

Jin Zan sighed, looking at the pitiful Shi Jin, speaking helplessly, ”I’ve checked, and it seems like a severe scrape has damaged your skin and blood vessels.

Don’t worry; it’s nothing major.

I’ll prescribe you an ointment for swelling and pain, apply it at home, and rest well for a few days, and you’ll be fine.

But if you want to do a massage and guasha again, you must wait until fully recovered.”

Jin Zan gave Shi Jin a speechless glance, about to return to his seat to find some medicine in his drawer for him.

But at this moment, Shi Jin suddenly said, ”Jin, I’m not here about the scrape; I wanted you to take me to see Doctor Du again.”
