This Doctor Is Too Wealthy

This time, it’s really like I’ve fallen apart!

But I feel so relaxed, a kind of relaxation I’ve never felt before.

It feels like every joint from my neck to my lumbar vertebra is breathing freely and deeply.

Du Heng released his hands and stepped back, lightly shook his arms twice.

Just those two movements were a sudden burst of force, almost exhausting all his strength.

”How do you feel, your whole body feels lighter, right?” Du Heng asked with a smile and returned to his seat.

Shi Jin looked relaxed, slowly stretching his shoulders and waist, and said in a very pleasant tone, ”It’s so comfortable, I’ve never had this feeling before.”

”You’re too tired, your muscles are frozen stiff, and your joints are rigid. Suddenly relaxing must feel great,” Du Heng laughed, ”But this treats the symptoms not the root cause.

In the future, you need to pay more attention to resting, participate in sports activities after work and study, or find a reliable massage therapist for regular full-body relaxation.”

Shi Jin nodded repeatedly.

With just that moment’s relaxation from Du Heng, he was inexorably addicted to the feeling, and even as the comfort slowly faded, he felt a tiny bit of loss and reluctance.

This sensation was something he found endlessly fascinating.

Just that moment made him realize he couldn’t live like he used to.

Previously he was terrified of poverty, always thinking of earning and saving money. He didn’t want to live a life of surviving a week on three pieces of bread and one packet of pickles.

If he really can get well this time, he wants to enjoy life.

Money is like a bastard, we can earn more if we run out.

Du Heng stared at Shi Jin for a moment, then spoke again, ”Now let’s talk about the second problem, which is the lump on the back of your neck. You can try to reduce it with hot compresses, massages, or guasha.

If this doesn’t reduce, your root illness won’t disappear.

Even through decoction medicine treatment, your wrist pain might improve, but you’ll experience neck pain and soreness, dizziness, and headaches.”

”Okay, Doctor Du, I’ll definitely remember this.”

”It’s not enough to just remember. You need to take action,” Du Heng joked lightly, then continued, ”As for the specific methods and steps, you’re all professionals, I assume I don’t need to elaborate?”

”No need, I’m familiar with it,” Jin Zan replied cheerfully, ”This situation is very common in the Spine Department.”

Du Heng nodded lightly, ”Then I won’t say more, let’s talk about the medicine.”

As he spoke, Du Heng touched his pocket and asked Jin Zan and Shi Jin, ”Did you bring pen and paper?”

Jin Zan and Shi Jin shook their heads simultaneously.

In society now, who goes out carrying pen and paper without reason?

And Du Heng knew the situation in the hospital room too, there was none of that stuff.

No other choice, Du Heng pulled out his phone, found Jin Zan’s contact, and sent a message, ”Dr. Shi, I’ll send the prescription to Jin Zan, you can find a place to get the medicine, okay?”

Shi Jin glanced at Jin Zan and then nodded, ”Sorry for the trouble, Doctor Du, but that’s fine, no problem.”

”Good then.” Du Heng, head bowed, sending messages, spoke softly, ”Your situation is quite special, there’s no ready-made prescription that fits your case, so I’ve customized this one myself, you won’t find it elsewhere.”

Du Heng said this purely for Jin Zan’s sake.

If it weren’t for Jin Zan, whether you want to drink it or not is up to you.

Peach kernel, notopterygium, spatholobus...

Very quickly, Du Heng sent the prescription to Jin Zan’s phone, and reminded, ”Dr. Shi, pay special attention, the roasted glycyrrhiza in there is meant to harmonize the other medicines.

Don’t remove it, nor change the dosage, otherwise, this prescription won’t be effective, or might make you uncomfortable after drinking it.”

At this moment, Jin Zan had just sent the prescription to Shi Jin, who promptly said he won’t change it and would follow the prescription exactly.

But after promising, he hesitated looking at the prescription again saying, ”Doctor Du, what happens after drinking these seven doses of medicine?”

”You’re cured after finishing them,” Du Heng said with a smile, ”The medicine requires no other special instructions, just the usual water-boiled decoction, take it warm morning and evening.”

Looking at the prescription on the phone, Shi Jin began to worry again.

With other doctors, he couldn’t even talk about relief, much less a cure.

But now with Du Heng, just seven doses guaranteed to cure him, this made him a bit...

Jin Zan had observed all this, feeling Shi Jin was embarrassing him.

The first time could be understood as being overly concerned about his condition, speaking without thinking.

But now there’s this situation again, it’s clearly distrust towards Du Heng.

Not trusting Du Heng meant not trusting himself.

This left him as the introducer feeling a bit awkward.

Besides, if you’re doubtful, you could wait until you leave to tell me privately.

Showing it so openly was quite awkward.

Moreover, Du Heng’s child is still sick, this was happening in the child’s hospital room.

Du Heng saw this and chose not to explain further.

Diagnosing him today, and prescribing medicine was already enough to show face for Jin Zan. Plus, previous explanations had been sufficient; he truly didn’t want to say another word.

Jin Zan awkwardly said, ”Old Shi, if Old Du says it’ll work, then it will.

Just take the prescription and go, with time you’ll know.”

Shi Jin thought that made sense, and was about to express his gratitude.

But as he lifted his head, he saw Jin Zan’s unnatural expression, suddenly realizing his actions had been misunderstood.

Now no matter how he explained, it’d seem unnecessary, so he simply stopped speaking, stood, and walked towards the child’s sick bed, taking out a red envelope.

”Sorry to bother you by coming over today, this is a red envelope for the child, wishing the child peace and health in the future.”

Shi Jin walked to the bed, placed the red envelope beside the child, uttered good wishes, and also made an apologetic face to Wu Shengnan, then turned away from the bedside.

Wu Shengnan said nothing, just looked up at Du Heng, who glanced at Jin Zan then nodded lightly.

With that nod, both Shi Jin and Jin Zan visibly relaxed.

”Old Du, let’s leave it as it is today, we won’t disturb you watching over the child. When you get some free time, let’s sibling gather properly.”

”Of course, but no need to worry about that, Dong said he’ll handle it.”

”That’s great.” Jin Zan laughed heartily, ”Alright then, go watch over your child, we’ll leave now.”

After seeing off Jin Zan and Shi Jin, Du Heng returned to the hospital room, only to see Wu Shengnan looking slightly helpless, ”You’re helping your classmate out, how can you accept money, it doesn’t sound good if word spreads.”

Du Heng walked slowly to the child, fiddling with the child’s fingers, said, ”I must accept the money, otherwise they won’t feel settled.

Regarding my classmate’s face, I’ve given enough.

Just today, in this time and place, if it were anyone else, let alone seeing a doctor, I’d slap them away.

Besides, prescribing the medicine here was also for the sake of my classmate.

Otherwise, am I living too comfortably, prescribing medicines without registration or appointment?”

After glancing at Wu Shengnan, Du Heng continued, ”However, if the money is too little, I’d accept it for Jin Zan’s sake, but if it’s too much, I’d return it to Jin Zan to give back.”

Wu Shengnan finally smiled lightly and said, ”That’s more like it.” As she spoke, she picked up the red envelope from the bed.
