This Doctor Is Too Wealthy

Though Central Lake is part of Jinzhou, and it lies on the edge of the Jinzhou city district, it’s still too poor, too uncompetitive.

Seeing Dong Yuezhang’s expression, Du Heng stopped teasing his brother and quickly restrained his smile, sincerely asking Dong Yuezhang, ”Old Dong, how much do you think it would take to solve this issue you mentioned?”

Dong Yuezhang smiled bitterly, ”A solution for ten thousand, a plan for 100,000, there’s no definite number.”

”What if I gave you five million?”

”How much?” Dong Yuezhang, half-reclined in his chair, glanced at Du Heng with his eyes tilted.

Du Heng chuckled lightly, ”Five million, are you ready to solve this issue?”

Dong Yuezhang immediately stood up, his gaze akin to a dog seeing a bone, then quickly reached out to grab Du Heng’s hands, ”Although five million isn’t much, it can solve some urgent problems.

Old Du, on behalf of the ordinary people in our town, I thank you.”

Listen, this showcases the difference between a Town Mayor and a Clinic Director.

Sponsoring Gong Daoyang with 1,000,000 yuan came with all sorts of worries.

But when it came to Dong Yuezhang, it was directly judged as ’not much’.

This is really not fulfilling at all!

Spending this money feels a bit worthless, and somewhat unsatisfying.

Seeing Du Heng’s darkened expression, Dong Yuezhang chuckled, yet he didn’t intend to flatter or praise Du Heng, simply shaking Du Heng’s hand vigorously, ”Brother, it’s settled then, five million, when will it arrive?”

Du Heng pretended to be angry and jerked his hand away, ”Nevermind, nevermind, what do you mean by that?

If it’s not much, then go find more elsewhere.”

”No, no.” Dong Yuezhang laughed, ”You must have misunderstood, when I said it’s not much, I meant it’s not much for you.”

”Is that what you mean?”

”Of course.”

Yet Du Heng shook his head, ”Still, nevermind, seeing you don’t take it seriously, I won’t bother embarrassing myself.”

Hearing this, Dong Yuezhang immediately understood that Du Heng wanted a bit of acknowledgment for spending money, so he promptly said, ”I do take it seriously, definitely seriously.

How about this, I’ll discuss with Director Gong, and together we’ll organize a grand donation ceremony for you, does that sound feasible?”

”How grand?”

”I will invite leaders from the district, even from the city, we’ll make sure it gives you face.”

Upon hearing this, Du Heng stopped joking, smiled slightly, and said, ”Nevermind, just like with the Police station, just let a few of us do a ceremony, make it a mutual witness.”

But Dong Yuezhang shook his head, looked at Du Heng with disdain, ”What? You think I’m joking?

Let me tell you, this money is earned by your ability, donated by your conscience, why should it be done secretly?

We should boldly publicize it, let the ordinary people of Central Lake see, that even though our brother left Central Lake, you haven’t forgotten this place.

You spent the money, they benefited, they should know how this money came by, and let those who benefited be grateful rather than thinking it fell from the sky.”

Yet after saying all this righteously, Dong Yuezhang laughed again, ”Of course, we brothers don’t need to hide anything, I also have a bit of personal motive.

By publicizing your act, creating momentum, it can set an example for those venturing outside, and it’ll count as a small achievement for me.”

Seeing Dong Yuezhang laugh, Du Heng also laughed, ”Just knew you couldn’t be that simple.”

After speaking, Du Heng’s smile faded, and he said seriously, ”I will definitely donate this money, but there are some things I must state upfront.”

Seeing Du Heng become serious, Dong Yuezhang also became serious, gently nodded and said, ”That’s necessary, just say it.”

Du Heng cleared his throat, speaking earnestly, ”I intend to use this money as an education reward fund, and only for this purpose.

I just want to use this money to help those kids who have the chance to climb out of here.

As for other aspects, I haven’t considered nor do I wish to consider them for now.”

Du Heng spoke slowly, yet seriously.

Seeing Dong Yuezhang’s hesitant look, Du Heng continued, ”I know your job is tough, but that’s not something I consider.

Moreover, your job isn’t yours alone, it’s the responsibility of all town leaders, so don’t complain to me, I won’t change my mind.”

Dong Yuezhang wanted to say something but seeing Du Heng’s serious demeanor, he ultimately left it unsaid.

After a brief silence, Dong Yuezhang smiled again, ”No problem, this idea is great.

Your stipulation means I’ve permanently accomplished one task, just need to focus on other directions, no more exhausting efforts like now.”

Regardless of whether what Dong Yuezhang said was genuine, Du Heng wouldn’t mind, he just wanted his money to be used where it should be.

”So, do you have any ideas on how this money should be used?”

”Yes.” This time, Dong Yuezhang replied very decisively, ”The moment you finished speaking, I already had a plan in mind.”

Dong Yuezhang said a bit excitedly, ”This money shouldn’t be spent recklessly, nor should it be given to just any family in need.

I plan to establish a scholarship system, cataloging all our town’s students, awarding only those who are outstanding in character and academics, willing to study, yet truly face financial difficulties.”

This idea, upon hearing it, clearly depicted a rough framework, yet Du Heng was quite satisfied, at least Dong Yuezhang had a plan, understanding the educational traits of their locality.

”Alright, then discuss with Director Gong about timing, so I can arrange in advance. Then provide me with your account details, I’ll let Xiao Kang and Lawyer Zhou handle it.”

By now, Dong Yuezhang had already adjusted back, rubbing his hands cheerfully as he looked at Du Heng, ”Brother, you’ve made donations to our town’s public security and education, why not also donate a bit to the Health Clinic?

Not much, ten thousand or 200,000 yuan will do.”
