This Doctor Is Too Wealthy

Du Heng’s confident guarantee made Officer Luo’s eyes widen.

Because of this issue, she hadn’t just visited all the major and minor hospitals in Jinzhou; she’d also seen numerous small clinics and even unlicensed village doctors, all at her mother’s recommendation.

But the results were plain to see: not only were there no effects, there wasn’t even the slightest improvement. After seeing so many doctors and taking so much medicine, she now started to feel nauseous at the mere sight of it.

”Dean Du, are you serious?” Officer Luo, being a police officer, didn’t just blindly accept Du Heng’s words, even though he was Wu Shengnan’s husband and someone she knew. She still maintained a degree of skepticism.

Besides, Du Heng claimed it was a minor issue, something many doctors hadn’t been able to solve. This made it even harder for her to readily accept.

However, Du Heng seemed to have anticipated Officer Luo’s reaction. He smiled faintly and continued in the same assured tone, ”I never joke when it comes to treating patients, nor do I ever deceive them.

In my practice, a condition is either curable or it’s not. I never say, ’Let’s give it a try,’ or ’Let’s see what happens.’”

Officer Luo was a bit unsettled by his words. Her gaze flickered as she couldn’t help but ask, ”Is it really that simple? But why?”

”You’ve been under emotional distress, feeling wronged and upset, which has caused a blockage in your liver meridian.

The liver stores blood, so a blockage in the liver meridian means your blood isn’t circulating properly. Additionally, your recent miscarriage and the subsequent drop in estrogen levels have affected your breasts.

Simultaneously, your liver issue has affected your appetite. Poor appetite leads to disharmony of stomach qi, which in turn contributes to a deficiency of qi and blood.

Under this combined impact, what was initially just chest discomfort and swelling has directly progressed to atrophy.”

Du Heng explained softly, ”In summary, the issue is liver depression affecting your stomach. To treat your condition, we just need to soothe the liver, relieve the depression, regulate qi, and harmonize the stomach.”

When Du Heng finished his explanation, Officer Luo frowned slightly.

Although Du Heng’s words seemed to make sense, the idea that breast atrophy and shrinkage were due to problems with the liver and stomach felt a bit far-fetched.

However, Officer Luo was, after all, a patient with no medical knowledge. Plus, Du Heng was Wu Shengnan’s husband, so she felt she had to show Wu Shengnan some courtesy and didn’t immediately refute or question Du Heng’s diagnosis.

But Wu Shengnan wasn’t so reserved. She directly challenged Du Heng, ”Hey, this is my colleague, my good friend. You can’t just string her along like this, can you?”

Du Heng smiled at Wu Shengnan. ”I’m not stringing anyone along.”

Wu Shengnan looked incredulous. ”You call this not stringing someone along? Breast shrinkage caused by a problem with the liver and stomach? Do you think that’s reasonable?

Even if we don’t understand traditional Chinese medicine or medical science, we still have common sense! It’s not like the breasts, liver, and stomach are even near each other, are they?”

Du Heng chuckled, shaking his head. He had no choice but to explain again, ”I was trying to simplify it for you by saying the root cause is qi and blood deficiency.

Since you want to hear the details, I’ll explain it thoroughly.

First, traditional Chinese medicine considers the breasts to belong to the Yangming meridians, which are abundant in qi and blood.

There’s a saying in Chinese medicine: ’A person’s foundation is their stomach qi.’ This means that for any illness accompanied by poor appetite, the stomach qi must be regulated first. Only then can the body properly absorb the medicinal properties of any treatment.”

Wu Shengnan glanced at Officer Luo, then stared blankly at Du Heng. ”I don’t get it.”

Du Heng ignored her and continued, ”There are two types of Yangming meridians: the Hand Yangming meridians and the Foot Yangming meridians. The breasts belong to the Foot Yangming meridians, also known as the Foot Yang Brightness Stomach Channel. This channel is associated with the stomach and connects to the spleen.

Therefore, if the stomach qi is sufficient and qi and blood are vigorous, Officer Luo’s problem will be solved.”

Wu Shengnan blinked, glanced at Officer Luo, and asked softly, ”Luo, did you understand any of that?”

Officer Luo shook her head awkwardly. She recognized every word Du Heng said, and could roughly grasp the meaning of the phrases, but when he put it all together into complete sentences, she was completely lost.

Wu Shengnan also shook her head. ”I didn’t understand either, hehe, but it sounds very convincing.”

Then she turned to Du Heng, ignoring his exasperated expression, and pressed on, ”So, tell me, how do qi and blood affect breast size? Is it because they get engorged with blood?”

What the hell, engorgement?!

Du Heng almost coughed up blood from sheer exasperation.

If that was the explanation, you could just get a boxer to pummel someone’s chest. Wouldn’t that cause engorgement and make them bigger? What would be the need for doctors then?

Such absurd logic!

Du Heng took a deep breath, fighting the urge to curse. He explained, his voice strained, ”In modern medicine, the development and size of the breasts are closely related to estrogen levels.

Estrogen, in particular, promotes the growth of mammary ducts, while progesterone stimulates their continuous branching.

This process forms numerous small milk ducts, making the breasts fuller.

Qi and blood can be understood as providing the necessary energy and nourishment.

If the mammary ducts lack sufficient nourishment, will growth hormones alone be effective?

Officer Luo recently experienced a miscarriage, which caused a rapid decline in her estrogen levels. This, coupled with liver depression and qi stagnation, led to insufficient qi and blood, ultimately resulting in breast atrophy.”
