Apocalyptic Disaster: I Hoard Billions in Supplies and Kill the Saint

28: Chapter 28 The Unsold Melon FieldThe air went silent for three seconds.

The surrounding fruit vendors turned their heads in unison, looking at Ye Nanxing as if they couldn’t believe what they had just heard.

200 tons?!

This wasn’t just buying a few fruits; it was enough to supply an entire large chain supermarket for several months!

The boss looked up abruptly, a flash of shock in his eyes, and stared at Ye Nanxing. ”Miss, are you kidding me?”

Ye Nanxing’s expression remained unchanged. ”Full payment upfront.”

As soon as she said this, the boss perked up instantly and hurriedly pulled out a calculator.

”Alright! What varieties do you want?”

Ye Nanxing didn’t waste any time and directly listed the varieties she wanted:

50 tons each of Shandong Fuji apples and Gannan navel oranges,

30 tons of Fujian Guanxi pomelos,

50 tons each of bananas and pears,

20 tons of each variety of Xinjiang grapes,

100 tons of Hainan young coconuts,

5 tons each of avocados, blueberries, and strawberries,

...

After calculating, it totaled 54.5 million.

After the boss announced the price, his hands were trembling slightly. He stared at Ye Nanxing, afraid that she might change her mind.

”Miss, are you sure? This is stock on hand. Once the goods are loaded, they cannot be returned!”

Ye Nanxing smiled faintly. Without saying a word, she scanned the code to pay.

When the fruit merchants in the market saw over thirty cold-chain trucks starting to load, the entire market exploded!

”Damn! Whose big boss is this fierce?!”

”Does she run an international supermarket chain? How could she buy 500 tons of fruit in one go?!”

”Is she crazy? How many cold storage warehouses would it take to fit all that?!”

Ye Nanxing stood to the side, watching the goods being loaded crate by crate into the cold-chain trucks, her expression calm.

After all the fruit was delivered to the warehouse, she locked the door and focused her mind—

”Store!”

Hum—!

500 tons of fruit vanished instantly!

Just as the fruit was stored in her space, a large batch of cold-chain trucks arrived at the warehouse.

Ye Nanxing looked at the frozen meat piled up like a small mountain. She checked again that no one was around and focused her mind—

”Store!”

Hum—!

The vast space was like a black hole, instantly swallowing all the fresh meat!

Beef and mutton were piled high like mountains, pork was neatly stacked, and chicken and duck were arranged in rows. The storage area of her entire space had effectively doubled!

Ye Nanxing narrowed her eyes, a thought crossing her mind—

Her preparations were only twenty percent complete!

The revolution was not yet successful; she still needed to keep working hard.

In three days, she had spent nearly 200 million.

”Tsk tsk...”

Looking at the balance on her phone, which hadn’t changed much, Ye Nanxing couldn’t help but sigh.

It was just too hard to spend all these 6.8 billion!

If the Apocalypse came and she hadn’t spent all her money, she would lose out big time!

After handling the warehouse issues, Ye Nanxing drove away from South City.

The weather in early September was crisp and refreshing. The fields on both sides of the road were golden, the rice paddies swaying in the wind, and occasionally, she could see figures of villagers working in the fields.

She slowed down, quietly watching this peaceful and serene countryside scenery, and sighed slightly in her heart.

Perhaps, after the Apocalypse arrived, such scenery would never be seen again.

Just as she was thinking this, her gaze was suddenly drawn to a melon field by the side of the road ahead—

She saw that in the tens of acres of fields, the ground was covered with ripe watermelons, each one big and round, with emerald green skin that faintly gleamed.

But strangely—

For such good watermelons, there was no one in the fields harvesting them, and not even any passing trucks, making it look unusually desolate.

Ye Nanxing’s heart stirred slightly. She turned the steering wheel and drove directly toward the small village next to the melon field.

Just as she arrived at the village entrance, she saw a few villagers sitting under a shed by the melon field, smoking and chatting, their faces full of worry.

”We’ve had terrible luck this year. The watermelons were supposed to hit the market in June, but because spring was cold for too long, they were delayed until September to ripen!”

”Watermelons from other places on the market have long been sold out, and people aren’t eating them anymore. The price has plummeted to a mess!”

”If we can’t sell them, all these melons will rot in the fields!”

Ye Nanxing listened to their conversation, raised an eyebrow slightly, pushed open the car door, and walked over.

She took a look at the watermelons in the field; they were plump with clear markings, clearly a high-quality variety.

Ye Nanxing asked directly.

”Gentlemen, what village is this? Are the watermelons for sale?”

The farmers heard the voice and looked up. Seeing a young woman dressed simply, they were a bit surprised, then hurriedly nodded.

”They’re for sale! How many do you want, miss?”

One of the men picked up a watermelon, tapped it gently, skillfully judging its ripeness, and then picked up a small knife from the side and sliced directly into the skin.

As the blade sliced through, it revealed bright red flesh, full of juice, with an intoxicating fruity aroma!

He picked up a piece and handed it to Ye Nanxing.

Ye Nanxing took it, bit into a piece, and found it sweet, refreshing, and delicious!

Ye Nanxing raised an eyebrow and said.

”The melons are good.”

”How much yield can this melon field of yours produce in total?”

Before the man who cut the melon could answer, the village chief, who happened to be there, immediately chimed in.

”We have planted 3,000 acres of watermelons in this field. The yield is exceptionally high this year, at least 20,000 tons!”

This was Zhang Village, where everyone was surnamed Zhang. The village chief was a sprightly old man nearing sixty.

”20,000 tons?”

Ye Nanxing nodded slightly, her mind already calculating the storage capacity of her space.

Her space had already evolved to the point where it could accommodate tens of thousands of tons of supplies; let alone 20,000 tons of watermelons, even doubling that wouldn’t be a problem.

She asked directly.

”What is your current market price?”

The village chief smiled bitterly.

”Back in June and July, the price could reach 2.5 yuan per jin. Now, because they’re unsold, buyers are suppressing the price severely. It’s only 0.5 yuan per jin, and still, nobody wants them...”

0.5 yuan?

Ye Nanxing raised an eyebrow and spoke directly. ”One yuan per jin, I’ll take them all!”

The air froze instantly.

Everyone was stunned.

”Y-you, what did you say?”

The village chief was dumbfounded, thinking he had misheard.

Ye Nanxing’s expression was calm as she repeated it faintly.

”I’m offering one yuan per jin to buy all the watermelons in your village.”

”A-all of them?”

A farmer stammered.

”Yes, all of them.”

The village chief stood up abruptly, looking at her with a face full of shock.

”Miss, you aren’t kidding, are you?! Do you know how many watermelons this is? 20,000 tons! Just transporting them would take several days!”

”I know.”

Ye Nanxing said in a calm tone.

”But the condition is that I need you to deliver them to a warehouse I specify.”

The villagers were in an instant uproar!

”One yuan per jin, that’s double the market price!”

”Oh my god, we can finally make money back this year!”

”But miss, do you really want this many watermelons? How are you going to sell them?”

Hearing that Ye Nanxing wanted to buy the entire village’s watermelons, the surrounding villagers all crowded around.

Ye Nanxing smiled slightly.

”You don’t need to worry about that; I naturally have my channels.”

”If that’s okay, I’ll pay the deposit first.”

Although this price was high, it was still cost-effective compared to buying directly from the fruit market.

Moreover, Ye Nanxing hoped to do a little good before the Apocalypse, although she wasn’t exactly a good person.

But all those years of compulsory education made her want to help some people within her capabilities.

The village chief wanted to say something more, but the farmers nearby were already red-eyed with excitement.

”Village chief! What are we still hesitating for? This is a life-saving deal!”

”1.5 yuan! That’s double the market price, what else could we lose?”

”Right, right, sell! Sell it quickly!”

The village chief pondered for a few seconds, then finally gritted his teeth.

”Alright! As long as you pay the deposit, our whole village will mobilize to help you deliver them!”
