Apocalyptic Disaster: I Hoard Billions in Supplies and Kill the Saint

25: Chapter 25 Hoarding at the Farmers’ Market 1Before the manager could finish, Ye Nanxing said directly,

”Double the price.”

The manager paused for two seconds, then smiled even more enthusiastically.

”Miss, our largest unit is 3,000 square meters; 1,000 square meters is considered small. Would you like to consider a larger one? The price is negotiable!”

Ye Nanxing’s expression remained indifferent.

”1,000 square meters, close to the entrance and exit, somewhere discreet.”

Seeing her firm attitude, the manager immediately flipped through the registration book and said with a smile,

”As it happens, Warehouse A17 just became vacant. It’s near the side door, so security is guaranteed.”

”Fine, I’ll rent it.”

Ten minutes later, Ye Nanxing signed the contract, paid the full rent, and received the keys.

She walked to the warehouse entrance, pushed open the iron door, and glanced inside—

The 1,000-square-meter space, while not particularly large, was enough for her.

Because—once all the supplies arrived, she would immediately store them in her space. This warehouse was just a ”cover”!

Ye Nanxing did not choose to place orders over the phone. Instead, she went into each wholesale store one by one, sweeping up goods in the most low-key way possible!

Her goal was clear—rice, flour, grain, oil, and condiments. She would stock up on the most basic survival necessities first!

Ye Nanxing walked into a seemingly large grain and oil wholesale store. Inside sat a middle-aged couple; the man wore a gold chain, and the woman, wearing heavy makeup, was looking down at her phone.

Ye Nanxing spoke up, ”Boss, I’d like to wholesale a batch of rice and flour.”

The woman finally looked up, lazily sized her up, and then casually pulled out a price list. ”Take a look.”

Ye Nanxing glanced at it, and her brows furrowed slightly—the prices were at least 30% higher than the market rate!

She asked casually, ”Where is your rice from? How much stock do you have?”

Upon hearing this, the man smiled enthusiastically and said, ”Miss, our rice is high-quality Northeastern rice. Quality and quantity are guaranteed, and we have stock available at any time!”

Ye Nanxing’s gaze turned cold as she looked at the rice bags stacked nearby—the manufacturer listed was clearly a small local factory, not Northeastern rice at all!

She smiled and said nonchalantly, ”Alright, I’ll take a look around.” With that, she turned and left the store.

In a corner of the Hanhai Agricultural Market, an inconspicuous grain store stood quietly.

This store had no flashy sign, no overwhelming advertisements, and even the red paint on the door had peeled off, making it look somewhat old.

But as soon as she walked in, Ye Nanxing noticed the difference here—the shelves were neat, the floor was clean, there was no cluttered merchandise, nor were there any ear-piercing shouts. There was only an elderly couple in their sixties sitting behind an old cash register, quietly organizing their ledger.

Seeing Ye Nanxing enter, the old woman looked up with a kind smile: ”Miss, are you here to buy rice? How much do you need?”

This smile lacked shrewd calculation; it only held the steadfastness and enthusiasm of someone who had been in business their whole life.

Ye Nanxing scanned the shelves and asked casually: ”Where is the rice here from?”

Upon hearing this, the old man looked up and laughed heartily.

”Miss, we only sell genuine Northeastern rice. It’s all supplied directly from cooperatives in Heilongjiang. We compensate ten times for any fakes!”

”And it’s all from the latest harvest; it’s very fragrant,” the old woman added.

”Rest assured, our family has been in the grain business for a lifetime; we would absolutely never mix in fakes.”

Ye Nanxing nodded and asked casually, ”How much is the rice per jin?”

The old man pointed to the price list on the wall.

”Miss, this batch of rice has a minimum wholesale price of 1.6 yuan/jin. If you buy a lot, it can be even cheaper.”

Ye Nanxing was stunned for a moment.

She had just checked the market price; ordinary bulk rice had already reached 2.5 yuan/jin, and high-end Northeastern rice was even more expensive.

Yet here, it was only 1.6 yuan?!

”I want 5 tons,” she said directly.

The old woman looked at her in surprise and asked with a smile, ”Miss, is this for a restaurant, or...?”

The corners of Ye Nanxing’s mouth lifted slightly, and she said indifferently, ”The company is preparing to donate to a welfare institution, and I’m the purchaser from the company.”

Upon hearing this, the old man immediately slapped his thigh.

”Alright! Miss, your company is truly conscientious. I’ll give you an even better price—1.5 yuan/jin. 5 tons will total 75,000 yuan, and I’ll throw in 100 jin of mixed grains for free!”

75,000 yuan could buy 5 tons?!

Ye Nanxing finally realized that she had absolutely no concept of the weight of grain.

She had previously thought 5 tons was a huge order, but now she realized that in the eyes of wholesalers, this amount of grain was nothing at all.

She quickly calculated in her mind: after the Apocalypse broke out, grain prices would at least increase 20-fold, if not more.

Since the price was cheap, then... why not stock up on more?!

She immediately changed her order.

”Then make it 50 tons of rice and 10 tons of flour.”

The old couple was stunned, and the old woman asked in surprise, ”Miss, are you sure you want that much?”

Ye Nanxing nodded.

”Yes, I’m sure. I’ll pay the full amount upfront.”

”Miss, take a look at the miscellaneous grains; they are healthy for the family,” the old woman enthusiastically pointed to another row of shelves.

Red beans, black beans, mung beans, oats, brown rice...

Ye Nanxing swept her gaze over them and said decisively, ”5 tons of each. Give me a reasonable price.”

The old man squinted his eyes, quickly calculated the cost for her, and then said, ”Miss, our miscellaneous grains are all supplied directly from the source. I guarantee the quality.”

”Miss, I’ll knock another 5,000 off this batch of miscellaneous grains, just to make friends. The whole batch will be 200,000 yuan.”

Ye Nanxing smiled slightly.

”Deal.”

The old man’s eyes crinkled with his smile.

”You’re a straightforward person, Miss! I’ll throw in 500 jin of job’s tears and 100 jin of purple rice. Come back often!”

Just as Ye Nanxing was about to pay, the old woman suddenly asked, ”Miss, would you like to see our dried goods? These have a long shelf life and are especially suitable for stockpiling.”

Ye Nanxing immediately became interested and walked straight to the dried goods section.

On the shelves, black fungus, shiitake mushrooms, kelp, dried bean curd sticks, lotus seeds, red dates, longan... were neatly arranged in bags. Each item was a common and practical ingredient.

”How much for the black fungus and shiitake mushrooms?”

”Miss, our black fungus is Northeastern autumn black fungus; it has a high rehydration rate, is thick and elastic, and costs 25 yuan/jin. The shiitake mushrooms are premium thick-capped mushrooms from Fujian, and they are very fragrant, costing 30 yuan/jin.”

Ye Nanxing nodded: ”5 tons of each.”

The old couple looked at each other, both stunned by her generosity.

”Miss, would you like to stock up on kelp and dried bean curd sticks too?”

”Yes, I’ll take 5 tons.”

”What about red dates, longan, and lotus seeds? We have special supplies from Xinjiang and longan from Fujian.”

”3 tons of each.”

After buying the dried goods, Ye Nanxing looked at the list and suddenly asked: ”Do you have condiments too?”

The old woman nodded immediately: ”Of course! Miss, take a look: salt, sugar, soy sauce, vinegar, chili sauce, pepper powder, five-spice powder, Sichuan peppercorns, and star anise—we have it all here!”

”Do you have hot pot seasoning?” Ye Nanxing asked.
