Apocalyptic Disaster: I Hoard Billions in Supplies and Kill the Saint

23: Chapter 23 A high-stakes gamble, netting a profit of 6.8 billion!Thirty-five trucks of raw jade stone arrived in South City in a grand procession, sending shockwaves through the entire jade gambling industry!

”Good heavens! How much stock did Chu Yunting sweep up in Myanmar this time?!”

”With so many raw jade stones, he could practically support half the jade gambling market!”

”Wait, no, it seems Ye Nanxing had a hand in this procurement too!”

For a time, the industry speculated wildly about what Chu Yunting and Ye Nanxing had actually done in Myanmar to bring back such a terrifying amount of stock.

But Ye Nanxing couldn’t care less. She had only one goal: cut the stones and cash out!

In the largest jade stone cutting workshop in South City, dozens of experienced masters went to work, surrounding the thirty-five trucks of raw jade stone to launch a magnificent ”Stone Cutting Convention”!

The roar of cutting machines was constant, and with every blade that fell, a massive fortune was revealed.

The first piece, high-ice variety with floating flowers, valued at 560 million!

The second piece, glass variety imperial green, valued at 1.32 billion!

The third piece, high-ice violet, valued at 780 million!

... By the time the last piece was cut, the net profit reached a staggering 7.1 billion!

While the industry was going crazy about how Ye Nanxing and Chu Yunting had ”achieved godhood in one battle,” Ye Nanxing had already calmly completed all transactions and made a decision: liquidate everything!

After deducting the 300 million Ye Nanxing owed Chu Yunting, her account balance for this trip officially soared to 6.8 billion!

And all of this took less than half a month!

Ye Nanxing’s space had evolved to a stage where it was usable. At this stage, the most important thing wasn’t jade stone or money, but—supplies!

”Miss Ye, regarding this cooperation... how do you plan to celebrate?”

After the cutting convention ended, Chu Yunting asked tentatively.

Since meeting Ye Nanxing, Chu Yunting had always treated her as a business partner, but with each collaboration, he realized that he was finding it increasingly impossible to ignore this woman.

Her calmness, decisiveness, intelligence, mystery, and even her combat ability made him feel inexplicably drawn to her.

He had originally thought he only admired her talent, but the moment she infiltrated the jade stone reserve alone in the Myanmar mining area, remaining calm and steady amidst a hail of bullets, his heartbeat had completely lost control.

She was too dazzling, like a brilliant star, making people unable to resist wanting to get close.

Yet she never gave any response.

”Celebrate what?”

Ye Nanxing said indifferently without even raising her head.

”You netted 6.8 billion; isn’t that worth celebrating?”

Chu Yunting chuckled softly.

”Mr. Chu, making money is just a means, not the end goal.”

Ye Nanxing stopped writing, looked up at him, her eyes calm and waveless.

She closed the ledger nonchalantly and turned to leave, not caring in the slightest that she had become an industry legend.

Chu Yunting stood where he was, watching her back, and suddenly smiled.

—She simply didn’t belong in this circle.

The next day, Chu Yunting arrived at the company and found a letter on his desk.

He opened the envelope, and the familiar handwriting came into view—

Mr. Chu, it was a pleasure working with you.

I hope you can make good use of the gains from this trip.

By the way, the world is changing. If possible, I suggest you stockpile some necessary resources.

Not for investment, but for... survival.

—Ye Nanxing

After reading it, Chu Yunting’s pupils constricted slightly.

”...Survival?”

He stared at the letter, his fingertips gently rubbing the paper, a strange feeling welling up in his heart.

Every step Ye Nanxing took seemed to be in preparation for the future.

She had been able to command the wind and rain in the jade gambling circle, yet at the peak of her success, she left without a shred of attachment.

She earned 6.8 billion, yet wasn’t the least bit obsessed with wealth, choosing instead to stockpile ”survival resources”?

What on earth was she preparing for?

A trace of unease quietly rose in the bottom of Chu Yunting’s heart.

He picked up his phone, pondered for a moment, and dialed a number.

In South City, autumn was in full swing. Sunlight spilled onto the streets, pedestrians bustled about, traffic flowed, and everything seemed prosperous and stable.

But Ye Nanxing knew that this scene was already the final serenity.

She stood at the used car market, looking at the beat-up little car that had accompanied her for several years. Her expression was indifferent, but a trace of nostalgia flashed in her eyes.

This car had witnessed her most destitute times and had accompanied her all the way to today.

But now, it was no longer suitable for her.

After the Apocalypse arrived, road conditions would become extremely dangerous. A small sedan was not only unsuitable for off-roading, but it couldn’t even withstand a collision. If she were trapped, she would basically be a living target!

She needed a car that could truly survive on all kinds of complex terrain—an all-terrain off-road vehicle!

In the trading market, a used car dealer wearing a tank top took her keys with a smile, his tone casual.

”Young lady, you want to sell this car?”

Ye Nanxing nodded slightly.

”Yes, just give me the trade-in value.”

The dealer sized up the car’s condition and rubbed his chin.

”Although it’s a bit old, it’s been well-maintained, and there are no issues with the chassis... How about this, I’ll give you 40,000. How’s that?”

Ye Nanxing raised an eyebrow. Zhou Yixuan had accompanied her to buy this car; it cost 128,000 on the road, and she had only driven it for two years. Seeing that she was a girl, this car dealer was cutting the price so ruthlessly.

However, the Apocalypse was coming soon. Without fuel, these things would all be scrap metal. Ye Nanxing couldn’t be bothered to haggle with him any further and said directly.

”50,000. Not a penny less.”

The dealer’s mouth twitched.

”You’re pretty tough... Fine! 50,000 it is!”

After disposing of the used car, Ye Nanxing went straight to the top off-road vehicle 4S dealership in South City.

Inside the 4S dealership, the showroom was spacious and bright, with luxury models arranged neatly, and the air was filled with the faint scent of new cars.

A new female salesperson approached cautiously, a trace of reserve on her face.

”Hello, are you here to look at cars?”

Ye Nanxing was wearing a simple casual T-shirt paired with sweatpants, a pair of slightly worn running shoes on her feet, and her hair tied casually into a ponytail. She looked just like an ordinary passerby.

She nodded indifferently.

”Yes, I’d like to look at off-road vehicles.”

A flash of hesitation crossed the girl’s eyes. As an intern, she didn’t have the qualifications to close a sale independently. According to the dealership’s practice, this kind of customer should be handed over to a senior salesperson.

She hesitated for a moment and said tentatively.

”Then... shall I take you to see our senior salesperson? He isn’t particularly familiar with off-road vehicles...”

Before she could finish speaking, a cold voice rang out from the side—

”No need, I’m busy.”

Ye Nanxing looked in the direction of the voice and saw a middle-aged man in a suit with his hair meticulously groomed, standing by the counter flipping through a customer order.

He glanced at Ye Nanxing, his gaze indifferent and carrying a clear sense of contempt.

Immediately, he turned around, his face full of smiles, to welcome another young couple who had just entered.

”You two, this top-of-the-line off-road vehicle is a limited edition; it perfectly matches your temperament!”

The man’s voice was attentive and enthusiastic, even slightly flattering. As he spoke, he took the initiative to lead them toward the VIP area, treating Ye Nanxing completely like air.

Ye Nanxing stood where she was, her expression unchanged, but the female salesperson felt a bit awkward and pursed her lips slightly.

She looked down at the intern name tag on her chest, her fingers tightening slightly.

From the first day she joined the dealership, she had been told not to waste time on ”invalid customers”; the real quality customers were those whose status could be seen at a glance.

She actually felt a bit bad, but still said hesitantly.

”Miss Ye, how about... I go ask another senior salesperson?”

However, Ye Nanxing smiled slightly, her tone calm.

”Can you close a sale independently?”
