I Love Destroying Worlds' Plot

Chapter 1981: 24.242 Sixth Violet Star - Sending Children to War?

The secret letter from Mu Liao was deciphered by the group and realized that the alliance had been bridled with too many spies and most of them could be considered traitors to their own races. But the question is how many of them were forced like Mu Liao and which of them had truly betrayed the alliance. Plus, this is something they couldn’t handle of their own as it involved the whole alliance. For this reason alone, the former elf king, Vega had decided to give it to the leader of their group which are Huzi and Mo Minkong.

There is a big problem though. He was tasked to stay in the Ancient forest to protect the beastmen. Of course, this is to deter the other rulers of the other races from attacking the beastmen race. With how chaotic the border is right now, it is unknown when this alliance will break apart from within, especially after they had learned that there are lots of spies in it. The new marshal’s standing is also unclear now. As Mu Liao had written on the letter itself that Long Juedi is to be careful of Gu Ying.

In the end, the students were also gathered by the current marshal, Gu Ying. After most warriors were sent to the borders, the remaining warriors in the city were those who were injured and sent back from the borderland. They greatly lacked warriors and tamers. So the alliance’s only choice is to send the students who had studied in the Taming Academy. After all, compared to ordinary warriors they are a lot more powerful with the support of their beasts or elementals.

This announcement was sent to the territories of the alliance’s members a week after Marshal Gu Ying had taken his position. Upon hearing this most of the parents of the students didn’t agree. However, faced with the reality of the war, they can only let the children go. Farewells and cries resound in the whole city. The students were personally picked up by the current marshal and there is no way they can decline. This time Marshal Gu Ying and a few of his soldiers had come to the Ancient Forest which was protected by the barrier.

Standing before the towering wooden wall, Marshal Gu Ying started calling for the people inside.

”This is Marshal Gu Ying representing the alliance to call over all the students of the Taming Academy to gather!”

His voice resounds in the whole area loudly as he uses his qi to amplify his voice. Of course, his voice was heard by everyone in the forest. It’s just that under the command of their leader, they are only to listen to Vega who was their acting leader while the two were away. Of course, they only believe in him because he is the mate of their race’s prophet. In their tribe, the leader and the prophet had the same level of importance.

Heri was currently surrounded by their tribe members and elders and this included the children of their tribe. It can be said that Long Juedi and Haerin are the cubs of their beastmen race and the tribe is not willing to give them away.

”Prophet, Lord Vega, what should be done?” A beastman elder asked.

Vega responded, ”Let Heri decide. I will follow whatever you believe must be done.”

The former elf king, Vega didn’t answer and looked at his mate. He was clearly saying that he will only believe what his wife will foresee. The prophet, Heri, used his ability to check the safety of the children but saw that General Gu Ying would most likely act to kill his daughter and Long Juedi. However, he had also seen that his brother and brother-in-law would suffer a lot if the children didn’t come and inform them about that letter from Mu Liao. Heri couldn’t decide.

He said, ”The children’s chance of dying if they come with Gu Ying is high. But if the letter from Mu Liao isn’t sent to brother, they would suffer defeat from the inside.”

Heri looked at his husband and said, ”Husband, I don’t know what to do. It would be better if you send the letter yourself but the tribe will be vulnerable.”

Elf King Vega thought for a moment and no one urged him to make a move. Then he suddenly leaves the tribe saying, ”Continue the conversation after I return.”

At the towering walls of the Ancient Forest, Former Elf King Vega stood the walls and looked down Marshal Gu Ying and the other soldiers. Behind him are the group of children from the other races like the human, elves and dwarfs. They are all children. Before the soldiers could react, a tree nearby made a move and took all the children behind Marshal Gu Ying and the soldiers.

”Ah! The trees are moving!”

”Ah, save me!”

”Eh? These branches? Are they not trying to hurt us?”

”Wow, where are you bringing us?”

The children panicked for a while as they were grabbed by the tree branches and brought to the other side of the walls. Of course, among the children, the only one left behind is Gu Ying’s son himself, Gu Yang.

The expression of Marshal Gu Ying at such a scene turned dark and serious. He looked coldly at the former elf king, Vega who remained calm under his glare.

”What are you trying to do? Former Elf King, Lord Vega!” He questioned.

Lord Vega noticed some parents of the students taken from them watching the scene. They were surprised that their children were taken away. That was until the former elf king and now the guardian of the ancient forest had said something that sent chills through their spines.

Vega, this former elf king, said, ”Our prophet had spoken.”

Silence~

Everyone knew who the prophet Lord Vega was talking about. It’s the younger brother of the Beastman Leader, Huzi, and the former elf king’s mate, Lord Heri. He is quite famous as his prophecy had never gone wrong before. Before the alliance was made, this prophet had said that the territory would be invaded by the beast race. Except for Huzi, no other race had believed it caused losses to their side. Just when they were at a loss, the prophet had mentioned heroes with unclear backgrounds. It depends on them whether they accept them or not. However, it was their choice who would save the alliance.

This time the other three races chose to believe Heri and accepted Hunluan and An Shizhe. It was for this reason that the two ancient gods had chosen to save them at that time. It was because of this event that the other race started to believe the prophecy from the prophet of the beastmen race.

The elven race upon learning that the beastmen prophet is none other than the beastman their former elf king had chosen as mate and the same person they had sent away, their hearts were full of regrets. If they had accepted the mate their former king had chosen, this prophet would have been on their side instead.

Lord Vega looked at Marshal Gu Ying coldly, ”He said that if the children had come with you this time, they are destined to die. Marshal, it seems that it isn’t the right time for the children to come to the borders. I am sure that adult warriors are more than willing to take the children’s place.”

Some adult soldiers who cannot contract with beasts had all stepped out wanting to take the place to fight in war instead of the children. Even though they haven’t contracted with any beasts yet, at least compared to inexperienced children, they are a better choice.

”Marshal, we are willing to fight for the children!”

”Me too! Even though I don’t have a beast I can still fight!”

”I want to go instead of the children as well.”

”Even without a beast we are willing to fight!”

The Marshal ignored them and instead stared at Vega who was also looking at him. The former elf king can see that within the depths of Marshal Gu Ying’s eyes is an unknown darkness that made him shiver. No matter what since his wife had spoken, he is willing to give away the children.

”Fighting without a beast is no different than sending warriors to their deaths. Beasts in the battlefield have mutated thanks to the Evil beast god. Do you think that without a contracted beast an ordinary person can fight it?”

The marshal tried to reason out. But everyone can understand what he wants to say. Hearing this the ordinary warriors felt useless due to this fact. Though they can fight without a beast to support them they will be nothing. They couldn’t help but lower their heads. It was at this moment when Heri had stepped in and slightly created the door to the walls and came out.

Heri, the prophet, said, ”If it’s only the contracted beast which is the problem then... we can resolve that. Not all soldiers had contracted beasts. Due to the state of the situation, our tribe is willing to provide the beasts only to the people the beasts are willing to sign contracts with.”

Behind him, everyone noticed a beast with varying grades of bronze to silver and a bit of gold was following him. It was unknown why these beasts were willingly following the prophet but when the soldiers and ordinary warriors saw them, their eyes glowed in anticipation.

”Uncontracted beasts in exchange for the safety of the cubs, should be enough for the military to buy some time. Isn’t it marshal?” Lord Vega jumped down from the wall and stood beside his mate. One can see how protective he is towards the prophet of the beastman race.

The Marshal knowing that what he had planned cannot be done can only compromise with the current situation.

He said, ”Alright. I agree.”
