I Love Destroying Worlds' Plot

Chapter 1971: 24.232 Sixth Violet Star - Reinforcement

Alliance Territory at the borders...

The towering walls that block the beast’s entrances to the lands of the other three races, now an impending doom was looming over it. The soldiers at the borders were limited due to the death count and beasts acting like real troops. Moreover, the beasts had an advantage in the sky, humans cannot fly unless they merged with a flying beast.

General Gu Yin had finally stood at the center of the walls waving the weapons in his hand. At each slash, a wave of beast would be cut as a group and they did so simply die like that. Corpses of beasts fell on the ground yet the other beasts didn’t care and just trample on these bodies to move forward. This is like a battle of one against a thousand. The current situation might have bought the humans some time, but like the Black Lion Commander, this is a skill that has heavy consequences. Though at this moment, General Gu Ying doesn’t care.

After all, if he lets the beasts breach the walls, these beasts will be able to enter their territory and it won’t take long for the other beasts to go in as well. When that happens the city and their families who are behind them will definitely suffer. Like when the whole city was covered with undead due to the birth of the Evil Beast God, Ouroboros.

General Gu Ying keeps swinging his sword with just a little bit of rest at each slash. He had been moving around his sword for an hour and finally his body can no longer bear the effect of merging with an entity, that is neither a beasts or an elemental, but something else all together. It’s an evil entity that affects the soul and body of its contractor, the burden is three times heavier than overusing beast merging for quite a long time.

Slashing madly, General Gu Ying could barely feel his surroundings. It can be said that his sight had become slightly blurred and he can only see the beast through their silhouettes.

’I cannot stop. If I stop moving the walls will be broken! This wall which I poured all my life defending, the wall I erected to secure my family in the city. The walls that protect my soldiers from monsters. It mustn’t fall!’

He is already in trance and didn’t even notice the strolling blood from the corner of his eyes. His mind was still clear yet his body was hurting all over. He continues to ignore the pain as if he doesn’t care whatever happens to him. He only needs to buy enough time to protect the walls until the reinforcement comes.

It’s just who would have thought that the commander from the other side would suddenly make an attack from a distance. It was something General Gu Ying hadn’t expected. The black winged lion commander from the barren lands finally stood up from his stone bed and looked at him. It opened its mouth and spat a huge ball of fire flying through the sky targeting General Gu Ying. This beast commander no longer wanted to waste anymore time and he wanted the walls to be broken today so someone else can take over his position as the commander. His real mission was to break the walls.

General Gu Ying suddenly saw something red flying towards him. At first, he didn’t think too much until he felt that the temperature had suddenly changed from cold to warm and he realized that whatever it is that is coming over is giving him a dangerous feeling. He decided to slash it on the spot. But since fire and wind had always been compatible, after slashing it, it had caused a huge explosion near the walls which caused him to blow over to the other side of the wall, almost falling over.

Traces of burns had suddenly appeared on the arms of General Gu Ying and scratches as well after a part of the walls were affected. Moreover, suddenly being forced to stop moving his original momentum had been halted. The backlash he was trying to ignore had finally hit him.

Pukes~

”Cough! I mustn’t fall. I mustn’t...” General Gu Ying fell on his knees after coughing a mouthful of blood.

The moment he coughed this blood he suddenly felt that his body was being hollowed and realized that the side effect of this merging is finally affecting him. However, he doesn’t care. He ignored the pain in his body and tried to stand up with the support of his weapon. He struggles to stand up, but his bloodshot eyes continue to look at the huge beast coming over towards him where the walls are. He can already imagine the walls being broken as soon as the huge figures of these beasts hit it. He couldn’t let this happen,

General Gu Ying still wanted to fight. He wanted to block the beasts but his body is no longer listening. Despite the pain and his numb legs, he still stood up, but it failed. So he can only move his arms and continue slashing once again. Affected by the blast from before, his swings were obviously weaker and the beasts were no longer afraid.

He didn’t stop his sword, though it slowed the beast down only for a while Gu Ying still did it. But as if learning from their commander the beasts started throwing something towards the wall, a huge boulder was hoisted up by the elephant beast with its nose and threw it directly to where General Gu Ying was standing.

General Gu Ying wasn’t afraid of the huge stone. It’s just that he couldn’t move his body which was suffering from backlash. He lifted his hands about to slash this stone. He didn’t even notice the people arriving at the borders. Just as General Gu Ying was about to use only his hand to cut the huge stones, someone had grabbed his shoulder from the back.

It was the Beast God, Mo Minkong and his mate, the leader of the beastmen and a beastmen with a Ninetailed fox bloodline, Huzi.

Mo Minkong said, ”You’ve done well. Take a rest. Leave the rest to us.”

Once General Gu Ying saw the kings of the beastmen, he was finally relieved. All the tension and fighting spirit in his body slowly fades as he falls unconscious. He finally let the effect of the backlash take over his body and fainted. The other soldiers who were stationed at the military headquarters had caught him. They carefully carried his body down from the walls.

Huzi commanded, ”Carry him down carefully and have him treated as soon as possible. This is the man who had protected the walls at the very end!”

”YES!”

When everyone had reached the borders, they were shocked by the number of dead soldiers just by the entrance mixing with the corpses of the beasts. They were even more surprised to see no soldiers welcoming them and found the area where the wounded were resting. Because of the lack of materials, the doctors had to reuse the bandage or make a new one using the spare clothing of the soldiers.

It was like hell on earth. Upon hearing the sound of fight, Huzi and the rest had run towards the walls and there they had witnessed General Gu Ying standing alone at the walls protecting the injured soldiers behind the wall, fighting on his own. When that huge fireball came flying towards him, he slashed it without hesitation even though he was almost blown away and his legs were hit, he still tried to stand up. When the huge stone was about to destroy the wall, Gu Ying, despite not being able to stand up, was already covered in blood and still tried to protect the walls. This made those who were watching once again remember that the peace of the city was thanks to people like General Gu Ying who had been risking their lives to defend their land.

The Black Lion commander from the sides of the beast recognizes the two people who appeared at the border walls of the other races’ territory. His expression turned grim as these two were even more annoying to fight against than the human from before. Especially the Beast God on their side.

”The God who had abandoned his own race! You are still alive!” The Black Lion Commander grumbles in rage.

He was so angry that he spat a few more huge fireballs towards the wall and it even intentionally merged into a huge one trying to hit Mo Minkong who was standing beside Huzi. The two noticed this commotion and saw the huge fireball about to fall on them. Despite the panic of the other beasts or other races in the area, Huzi and Mo Minkong remained calm.

The one who made the move first was Huzi. He had released his fox tails and covered it with ice. It grabs the fireball and throws it at the second wave of beasts coming for the walls. The fireball was so huge that it immediately incinerated the beasts into ashes. Just like that the second wave of beasts were killed by the powers of their own commander.

BOOM!

The cries of the beasts lingered outside the walls, and Huzi retracted his nine tails back to their normal size and looked coldly at the beast beyond the walls.

He mumbles, ”That should end the second wave for now.”
