The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

When the news that Song Zhiqing was diagnosed with paralysis of the lower limbs by Doctor Cheng reached Song Ci, she was playing in the west room with Lin Qing and a few of Dan’s younger siblings, not too surprised by the news.

Some people might not understand the importance of the spinal column, but she surely did. After all, she came from the future, where news about spinal problems leading to paralysis was common.

So there was no need to wait for Song Zhiqing to wake up; as soon as she heard Doctor Cheng diagnose his spinal injury, Song Ci knew that this little punk had brought about his own downfall. Not only had he ruined his own future, but he would also have a wheelchair as a lifelong companion.

He had no one else to blame. It was his own doing, choosing to leave the family on such an important day, which led to this incident.

If you don’t act recklessly, you don’t end up in these situations.

Lin Qing, however, was curious about the rehabilitation Song Ci mentioned. Could it really help someone recover?

Song Ci replied, ”It can’t make one completely well. It just makes things not as miserable as lying bedridden all the time.”

Rehabilitation is not easy; even in the future, it requires extensive physical therapy and is a very demanding process. The medical conditions here are far from adequate; how could it be good?

It mainly involves having someone support him to help him move slowly, preventing complete muscle atrophy.

”Of course, if there was an acupuncture technique like that of Shennong in the world to help with the treatment, perhaps the effect would be better. But have you ever seen someone stand up just by relying on acupuncture alone? At least I haven’t.”

Alleviating paralysis and standing up after a few needles is either an exaggeration or a fictional tale.

Lin Qing chuckled, ”If it were true, that would truly be a divine doctor in the world.”

”Exactly,” Song Ci said, biting into a piece of longan meat, ”so, this life of his, I guess there’s not much hope left.”

It’s not that, as a mother, she was being harsh. Privately, she thought that someone like Song Zhiqing, who was always restless, might be more reassuring in this state.

It’s just a pity for the children.

But they’re all descendants of the Song Family, and Song Zhiyuan isn’t the kind to limit his vision. As long as the children have talent, he would not hesitate to nurture them.

So, the third house lacked a main male pillar now, but if one is gone, it can be resolved by cultivating another.

...

Song Lingzhou arrived at Plum Garden and entered the east side room, where he saw Madam Lu sitting by the south window wiping her tears. His heart clenched, and he quickly walked over, ”Mother.”

Madam Lu wiped her tears and pulled him into her embrace, ”Why are you here?”

”Mother, don’t cry. Father will get better. Uncle also promised to invite renowned doctors from all over to treat him.” Song Lingzhou took her handkerchief to wipe her tears.

This caring gesture made Madam Lu’s suppressed tears flow again, and she hugged him while crying, her shoulders trembling.

Song Lingzhou also shed tears, but he didn’t forget to pat her back soothingly.

After crying for a while, Madam Lu lifted her head to wipe her tears and looked earnestly at Song Lingzhou, ”Zhou’er, listen. Your father can’t be cured; his condition is permanent.”

Song Lingzhou’s face paled.

Madam Lu continued, ”With your father’s paralysis, it’s impossible for him to hold an official position again. From now on, the main support of our third house will rely on you, the eldest son. So, Zhou’er, you must study diligently. You can’t muddle through like before and just get by.”

Song Lingzhou was startled. He looked at her bloodshot eyes and haggard face, and heavily nodded.

”My poor child,” Madam Lu said, pulling him back into her arms, sobbing softly.
