The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

The New Year is upon us again, and the capital is adorned with lanterns and decorations everywhere. Merchants and citizens bustling to prepare for the New Year can be seen everywhere, with almost every shop crowded, giving off a lively atmosphere.

Song Lingjie was accosted by his mother to act as a temporary bodyguard and accompany her on a shopping trip for New Year goods after leaving the palace.

Understanding his mother’s intentions, Song Lingjie instinctively felt that buying New Year goods was just a pretense; there must be another motive. Just as he was thinking of finding an excuse to refuse, his little sister rushed over asking to be hugged, acting adorable to persuade him to join them.

A little sister being adorable is the hardest to resist. Despite the huge age difference, and with his elder brother in the Northwest, Song Lingjie was almost always indulgent to this sister. Now, seeing her puffing her cheeks, pouting her crimson lips, with eyes glistening, it instantly struck a chord with his soft heart.

Why not? It’s just shopping for New Year goods, not climbing mountains of knives or descending into pots of oil. Can’t be scared, right?

Accompanying his mother and sister, they first visited a clothing shop, followed by Wanbao Pavilion to select jewelry.

”Mom, aren’t your jewelry selected from your own dowry shop?” Song Lingjie glanced askance at Madam Jiang.

Something sneaky is afoot!

”What do you know? Every craftsman is different, and Wanbao Pavilion’s jewelry designs come faster than others, and in fewer quantities. With the New Year almost here, if I don’t prepare some ensembles, what will I wear when your elder brother gets married? Also, when meeting in-laws, don’t I need to prepare novel jewelry for the niece-in-law?” Madam Jiang shamelessly said, ”Your elder brother’s wife is a lady from the Duke Mansion. If I prepare inadequately, I’ll be laughed at. Wanbao Pavilion is quite good.”

Song Lingjie chuckled: ”I see your vanity case already has quite a few exquisite pieces.”

Moreover, many of those pieces were sent by my maternal grandfather, extremely refined, and at the very least, raw materials were sent over, with renowned designers asked to sketch and craft them, truly unique.

”Shut up!” Madam Jiang glared at him: ”I want to go.”

Song Lingjie: ”...”

The group entered Wanbao Pavilion, unsurprisingly, the Shopkeeper greeted them with a broad smile, calling Madam Song and praising Song Lingsu and Song Little Sister as unparalleled.

There’s no choice, Song Lingjie ranks within the top five of the Prestigious Elegance list, currently a popular eligible bachelor in the capital, study companion to the Crown Prince, who wouldn’t rush to fawn?

Not only the Shopkeeper, but ladies and young girls selecting jewelry at Wanbao Pavilion also came forward to greet Madam Jiang. Some young girls, even in the middle of winter, clutched fans, partially shielding their faces, stealing shy glances at Song Lingjie, while the bold ones directly cast flirtatious glances.

Madam Jiang’s smiling face stiffened.

Song Lingjie’s scalp tingled; he just knew coming to such places only brings troubles. The look in those people’s eyes seemed as though they wanted to topple him.

”Shopkeeper, shall we go to a private room, so as not to disturb the ladies and young girls?” Madam Jiang smiled at the Shopkeeper.

The Shopkeeper understood and smilingly led them upstairs.

On the second floor, as they turned the corridor, they arrived at a private room door, where a servant woman stood guard. Seeing Madam Jiang and the others, she smiled.

”Oh, is it Madam Song? This servant greets you.” The servant woman smiled and curtsied to Madam Jiang.

Madam Jiang smiled as well: ”Spring Sister-in-law? You’re here. Does that mean Sister Li is inside this private room?”

”Indeed, my lady and miss are inside.” The servant opened the door, with a smile, said into the room: ”Madam, Madam Song is also here.”

”Is it Sister Ying? Do come in.”

Madam Jiang responded, about to step inside, when a soft cough sounded behind her. She paused for a moment before walking in nonchalantly.

Song Lingjie: ”...”

He just knew his intuition never failed him.
