The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Princess Consort Ji indeed understands the situation now.

Empress Dowager looked at Princess Consort Ji with a slightly more favorable gaze, she finally spoke sensibly.

Princess Consort Ji noticed the Empress Dowager’s expression and felt she was on the right path, so she continued, ”In my view, the Empress is magnanimous, rewarding maids to serve Prince Zhou. Empress Dowager, perhaps you could also show some affection for this grandson and reward a couple of good ones.”

Empress Dowager glanced at Madam Wen and her daughter-in-law, nodding in agreement, ”That’s right, nothing is more important than the Royal Family’s prosperity.”

Madam Wen’s body swayed, her face turned pale, the repercussion had indeed arrived.

Madam Wen’s mother-in-law felt suffocated, looked weakly at Consort Fan.

Consort Fan’s expression turned unsightly, just as she was about to speak, the Empress Dowager looked at her and said, ”I see that Consort Fan, you have a heavy heart today, and your temper is restless. Return to the palace to copy a few volumes of the Heart Sutra, let the Imperial Physician prescribe you some Calming Tea with extra coptis, and refrain from acting rashly, lest your temper gets worse.”

”Lady!” Consort Fan’s eyes reddened with grievance.

”Hm?” Empress Dowager glanced at her, ”This is also for you, and for Prince Zhou’s sake. You truly need to temper your fiery temperament. Recently, you have replaced so many people in your palace, you must know how frequent it has been. Such conduct is against the natural order; no wonder Prince Zhou’s offspring are not numerous. Look at Prince Wu, currently, Consort Wu is about to give birth to a second legitimate son, the Prince Mansion has three young princes and a little Commandery Princess. In contrast, Prince Zhou has many wives and concubines but only one son and daughter. How can it compare?”

Sitting in the middle watching the drama, Consort Wu suddenly raised her chin proudly when named.

Consort Zhou’s face turned slightly pale; they had arrived at Cining Palace later and weren’t aware of the rewards already given at Kunning Palace before.

Princess Consort Min looked at several people, sighed, and touched her abdomen, her expression silent.

This is the Royal Family, everywhere there are struggles, with shadows of swords and daggers.

Consort Fan was reprimanded with a loss of face, and could only stand in a daze.

”Ah Ci spoke some reasonable words; people are the foundation of our Great Qing. With people, our Great Qing can thrive, so I truly dislike hearing those messy, filthy affairs. You all, for your own blessings, be vigilant, and remember, what man does, heaven sees.”

Everyone: How did it become a reprimand meeting?

Yet they had to stand up and respond in unison, accepting the teachings.

”Sit down, everyone.” Empress Dowager glanced at Consort Fan, warningly, ”Consort Fan should also keep this in mind.”

”I obey the command.”

Princess Anping saw the atmosphere inside the hall suddenly become somber, and she smiled and said, ”Mother, save admonishments for March third. Today is New Year’s Eve, let’s talk about happy things.”

The Empress glanced at the hourglass, ”I see the palace banquet is about to begin. Mother, why don’t we slowly make our way there?”

”Alright.”

Empress Dowager gave the order and the hall began to move.

Consort Fan said to the Empress, ”Lady, I must return to change clothes first.”

The Empress waved her hand, speaking meaningfully, ”Consort Fan, take your time; the weather is cold, the road slippery, don’t fall.”

Consort Fan’s face darkened.

Madam Wen was supported by Madam Wen, her hand trembled, and Chief of Staff Madam Li came over and whispered, ”Have you finally gotten what you wanted now? I wonder how Consort Wen will stand out among so many newcomers.”

Madam Wen dug her fingers into Madam Wen’s small arm, making the latter cry out lowly and reproach softly, ”You’ve hurt me.”

For a moment, Madam Wen was impulsive, wanting to push the old troublemaker to the ground.
