The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Others might not know what Song Lingjie is like when he assesses people, but for him, it’s quite dull, and if he were to summarize, it’s just one point.

He has seen the person; fair-skinned, beautiful, patient, with a gentle and elegant demeanor, not seeming to be the superficial or domineering type.

If you ask for his opinion, it’s all okay, as this person meets his criteria for a partner.

However, that’s all there is to it.

As for any romantic feelings, there aren’t any; it’s just that they seem quite suitable.

So, he disengaged and walked straight to a jade flute made of white mutton-fat jade, picking it up for a closer look.

Fu Yunjin, meanwhile, stood beside Song’s younger sister at the jewelry counter, her peripheral vision sweeping over Song Lingjie as she noticed him examining the flute, causing her face to darken slightly.

Does this person truly not know why they were pushed together or is he uninterested in her?

”Sister Fu, do you also like flutes? My third brother has quite a collection, I heard there’s even one gifted by the Crown Prince. If you like, have him send it to you.” Song’s younger sister said with a grin.

Fu Yunjin smiled and said, ”No matter how much I like it, I can’t do that. A gentleman doesn’t compete for what others like.”

”What’s the big deal? Just become my sister-in-law, then what’s his will be yours, and yours will still be yours.” Song’s younger sister said with a wink.

Fu Yunjin’s pretty face turned rosy, and she retorted playfully, ”You clever thing, do you know what a sister-in-law is?”

”Of course I know. Isn’t my big brother going to marry a sister-in-law as well? So, my mother is anxious, isn’t she fond of you? Sister Fu, what do you think of my third brother?”

”I won’t talk to you anymore, you little rascal,” Fu Yunjin said, her cheeks flushed, poking her forehead.

Song’s younger sister giggled, ”Then go talk to my third brother, you don’t need to keep me company.”

With that, she ran off to the side, her maid quickly catching up.

Fu Yunjin felt a bit helpless, unable to really walk over, so she just stood there.

Song Lingjie walked over, holding the Jade Flute adorned with a Ruyi knot, and handed it over: ”You like flutes? Try the tone of this Jade Flute.”

Fu Yunjin paused for a moment, then took it.

Those attending nearby were all excited, finally these two have connected, they had been up there for a long time with no interaction, which had worried them.

Fu Yunjin took the flute, adjusted a few notes, and then turned sideways to press it to her lips.

Soon, the flute’s melodious sound rose, gentle and harmonious, clear and continuous; it played a tune of homesickness.

”This flute’s tone is extremely clear, it’s quite nice.”

After finishing the tune, Fu Yunjin flipped the flute over, and upon seeing a mark, she smiled and said, ”Moreover, this is the work of Master Guan Yun, he hasn’t made flutes for many years. If Song finds it appealing, he might as well buy it and preserve it.”

”It seems Miss Fu has a broad appreciation for flutes, even knowing these master works well.” Song Lingjie said, looking at the Jade Flute, ”This flute, I believe, suits you perfectly. Are you willing to become its owner?”

Fu Yunjin tilted her head slightly, ”Doesn’t Song like it?”

Song Lingjie replied, ”I am also a lover of flutes; if Miss Fu would like, I may still have a chance to play a tune on it in the future?”

Fu Yunjin detected the implied meaning in his words, her cheeks blushing brightly.

Song Lingjie smiled subtly, looking at the nearby attendant: ”Wrap this flute for Miss Fu, and send the bill to the Song Mansion.”

Fu Yunjin opened her mouth, but Song Lingjie motioned to Song’s younger sister, indicating it was time to leave.
