The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Song Zhiyuan, a prominent figure in the court, was utterly speechless upon hearing his father’s words.

How could he sell off his grandson just because of a couple of drinks? How muddle-headed!

He felt fortunate that his brothers and he didn’t take after this old man here but rather took after their mother, otherwise how could the Song Family be where it is today?

Song Zhiyuan looked at Song Ci with a grateful and comforting expression.

Song Ci: ”???”

She really couldn’t understand that comforting look.

Madam Song was so angry that her hair was standing on end. If her mother-in-law and husband weren’t present, it wouldn’t have been her turn to speak, otherwise she would have slammed the table on the spot.

Her father-in-law was truly a disaster.

Song Zhiyuan coughed once: ”Dad, alcohol causes blunders, but this one is really too much.”

The old Song Master shrank his neck and said: ”I...I only thought the Qingcheng Marquis Mansion was okay, so I got impulsive.”

In fact, the next day he regretted it and thick-skinned went to ask for a return, but that scheming old fox from Qingcheng Marquis Mansion said something about a gentleman not going back on his word, and then immediately avoided him.

”Getting impulsive could let you sell off your good grandson? Just one look at the Qingcheng Marquis Mansion’s daughter and you decided, where is your responsibility as a grandfather? What if there’s something unseen, an illness or scandal of hers? Wouldn’t you be ruining your grandson?” Song Ci swallowed the words ’glorified doormat’ and her chest heaved with anger.

The old Song Master said: ”Watch your tongue! She’s a good girl. Is there any illness or scandal? That’s the Qingcheng Marquis Mansion’s daughter!”

”Oh, just because she’s from the Qingcheng Marquis Mansion she can do no wrong? Did you check thoroughly? Have you looked into it? Plus, Su’er doesn’t even know of this person. Not to mention whether he agrees, you just tied him down?” Song Ci got increasingly angry, grabbed the backscratcher beside her and tossed it over: ”You’re such a dimwit, there isn’t anyone worse at being a grandfather, you’re a damn old fool.”

The old Song Master instinctively raised his hand to block it, but the backscratcher hit his hand and he yelled in pain: ”You old hag, you shrew, how dare you hit me!”

”So what if I hit you? You’re just asking for it.” Song Ci spat at him: ”Not only will I hit you, I’ll bring out my parents’ plaques and make you a kneeling disgrace, you shabby old man.”

The old Song Master: ”...”

Not winning the argument so you call on your parents’ plaques? This is too much, is there no decency in fighting?

Madam Lu gently soothed Song Ci’s back, softly saying: ”Mother, calm down, don’t hurt yourself over anger.”

Inside, she was shocked at the old master’s blunder, how muddled he was, could it be Zhou’er’s father inherited this muddledness?

Song Zhicheng hurried to pacify, saying: ”That’s right, Mother please be at ease and not get angry, we’ll resolve this matter.”

He frantically signaled to Song Zhiyuan to make a move, otherwise these two ancestors might get seriously upset. Although making a scene was nothing new, they were used to it, the old couple was quarrelsome and physical.

However, the token couldn’t just stay with the Qingcheng Marquis. If that party came over saying they want to formalize an oral agreement during the New Year, making a mess, wouldn’t that be troublesome?

Especially now that Princess Anping had already been to the Duke Mansion and brought up the marriage proposal, suddenly causing this slip-up, would the Duke Mansion be happy?
