The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Song Zhiqing’s face turned paler as he was mocked, his mouth twitching, not daring to argue, fearing that the old lady might be angered and then the eldest would take the opportunity to make trouble for him.

Indeed, having had poor sleep these days, when he delved deeper, he felt that the eldest was intentionally making trouble for him, otherwise he would have thought Bai Shuilian was truly dead and wouldn’t have been stimulated by the bloody truth, or even...

Song Zhiqing looked down at his own hands, as if seeing blood on them, and recalled Bai Shuilian’s dying yet unpeaceful gaze, shivering instantly, not daring to think further.

”Mother, if you can’t bear it, then let it be.” Song Zhiqing forced a smile as he spoke.

Song Ci stared at him: ”Saying can’t bear it is not quite right. I seldom see those two children, even though they must call me grandmother, people have emotional closeness or distance, naturally, they aren’t as dear to me as Zhou’er and Wei’er.”

Madam Lu kept her head lowered, feeling slightly happy hearing this.

Song Zhiqing shuffled his knees, his fingers slightly curling.

”But even so, I have never thought of sending these two children away, they are not teenagers, but barely more than a year old, knowing nothing. At my age, I hope to accumulate more blessings to live longer, not to commit sins that would shorten my life.”

”They, they wouldn’t dare.”

”Not daring also can’t prevent negligence, if something truly happens, punishing the servants won’t bring the children back.” Song Ci snorted: ”No need to speak of this, sending them back to the old home, I disagree, the manor can afford to raise them, if you insist on doing so, then you are selfish and cold-blooded, not fit to be a father.”

Song Zhiqing: ”...”

It’s been spoken this far, does he dare insist on sending them away?

Even giving him the courage of the heavens wouldn’t make him dare.

”Actually, if you truly want to do so, it’s not impossible to take charge; otherwise, you three households could separate and live in another manor? Then, you would be the head of the household, deciding whatever you wish, we wouldn’t interfere.” Song Ci squinted as she spoke.

”Mother!” Madam Lu’s expression was greatly startled, hurriedly kowtowing to apologize: ”Mother, parents are around, we won’t separate the family, we were wrong, we will never dare again.”

She tugged at Song Zhiqing, scolding: ”Aren’t you going to apologize to mother? Do you really want our three households to separate?”

Song Zhiqing hurriedly apologized, indeed for a moment, he considered, separating might be feasible.

Yet Madam Lu reminded him, Song Ci’s words merely suggested their household to separately reside, but the second household wouldn’t separate, making outsiders possibly suspect that it was due to their household’s error leading to separation.

Even superiors might have doubts whether something improper on his part would affect his evaluations.

Considering this, Song Zhiqing anxiously and fearfully apologized, repeatedly stating he wouldn’t dare.

Song Ci found his demeanor disgusting, waving her hand: ”Go away, don’t want to see you, irritating, just do whatever you please.”

Song Zhiqing: ”...”

Madam Lu promptly got up, pulling Song Zhiqing, smilingly said to Song Ci: ”Mother, we will leave now, please rest well.”

Song Zhiqing rose and paid respects to Song Ci, then withdrew from the main room.

The couple left humbled, returning to Plum Garden, sitting down, Song Zhiqing scolded Madam Lu: ”It’s all your fault, saying it’s due to conflict with mother, if you can’t speak well then don’t speak.”

He was scolded harshly, it couldn’t be worse.

Madam Lu sneered: ”Wasn’t it you who said it? Speaking truthfully is wrong now? I advised you too, this won’t work, yet you insisted, blaming me?”
