The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Going to the palace once, Song Ci felt like every family had their own worries, and even for the Royal Family, it was the same. There were many helpless things that had to be accepted.

Nanny from the palace heard her sigh and said, ”You’re sighing again.”

Song Ci leaned on the pillow inside the carriage and said, ”Isn’t there something quite Zen about the idea that every family has its own difficult sutras to recite? Even the Royal Family has many things that they are powerless to change.”

The Nanny placed a blanket over her legs and then tucked a hot water bottle in, saying, ”The Royal Family is also a clan, just with a more noble status. Naturally, a clan has its own troubles.”

”That’s true. Where there are people, there are challenges. It’s just that I feel a bit sorry for the Commandery Princess Shou Ning. A once-in-a-lifetime wedding and the groom can’t come in person to fetch her—what a regret for a lifetime.” It’s outrageous to use a rooster or a brother for the wedding ceremony.

”Stop worrying. There’s still about a month until the wedding. There might be good news in a few days.”

Song Ci awkwardly said, ”This is just finding something to chat about out of boredom.”

The Nanny frowned and pulled the blanket tighter, saying, ”The master told you not to overthink and overwork yourself. I see you can’t manage it; you’re just a worrier.”

”Just chatting idly, just chatting. Ah, this hot water bottle is very warm, I’ll take a quick nap.” Song Ci closed her eyes, pretending to sleep.

The Nanny almost laughed out of frustration and shook her head.

Upon returning to the Prime Minister’s Mansion and changing out of her heavy clothes, she heard Song Zhiqing and Liu Shi coming together to Chunhui Hall to pay a visit.

Song Ci thought, if the couple’s coming together, there must be trouble.

”Come in.”

Song Zhiqing walked in, with Liu Shi a step behind. Her foot injury hadn’t fully healed, and she was still limping a bit.

Song Ci looked up, startled, and exclaimed, ”Old Third, have you not been able to sleep at night? Your face is blue, lips pale, and those dark circles are so bad. Have you been possessed by a ghost?”

The useless old Third couldn’t be compared to Pan An in looks, but he did have some good looks. But now he looked just like a national treasure panda with those black circles, lips cracked and pale, his face ashen, like he’d been drained by some demon. It couldn’t look any worse.

Song Zhiqing’s body stiffened.

Not quite possessed by a ghost, but he dreamt night after night that Bai Shuilian came to demand his life, it was as if he were haunted, scaring him to death.

Song Zhiqing barely managed to pull a smile. ”Bai Shi is gone. I truly haven’t slept well these past few days, thinking of burying her soon to rest in peace.”

”That’s something you two can arrange together.” Song Ci didn’t care about that already offline Bai Lianhua.

Song Zhiqing said, ”I also want to perform a ritual.”

At least to send that damned ghost away quickly, so she won’t haunt him anymore.

Song Ci raised her eyebrows, casting a sideways glance to see his slightly irritable and fearful gaze, and chuckled inwardly.

See, if you don’t do anything wrong, you won’t be afraid of ghosts knocking at the door at midnight. Once you’ve done it, there’s a ghost in your heart.

Feeling guilty for personally eliminating the woman who had shared a bed and borne him children, now he thinks she’s haunting him, needing to perform an exorcism?

Understanding without stating was the most basic decorum. Song Ci had no intention of kicking a dog when it’s down, so she merely said calmly, ”Do as you wish. After all, she bore you two children. Performing a ritual for a speedy transmigration is also good.”

Song Zhiqing sighed in relief. Had it not been for the fear of being haunted, he wouldn’t bother with this trouble. That wretch didn’t deserve it.

”There’s one more thing.”

Song Zhiqing looked at Liu Shi, signaling her to speak. The latter blatantly ignored him, saying, ”I won’t be the bad guy; you tell it yourself.”
