The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

The officer Wu returned, and the servant, who was organizing things in the room, was taken aback and stepped forward to ask, ”Sir, why have you come back?”

Officer Wu tore off the human skin mask on his face, revealing an older face, and it was indeed Mr. Ning.

Mr. Ning frowned and said, ”I just met the Princess.”

”Oh.” The servant uttered a sound and quickly reacted, ”That little master? She recognized you?”

Mr. Ning shook his head, ”How could she possibly recognize me, having never seen me before.”

The servant thought to himself that it made sense, as the young lady was still so young, how could she possibly recognize who the sir was.

Mr. Ning sat down, ”Her brows and eyes really resemble His Highness.”

The servant glanced over and saw a trace of reminiscing and melancholy on his face, remaining silently at the side, not daring to disturb him.

After quite a while, Mr. Ning finally returned from his sorrow and said, ”No news from Tong Qian yet?”

”The Prince Mansion has always been guarded by the Imperial Army, making it somewhat difficult to transmit news inside,” the servant whispered, ”News is difficult to convey, and we don’t even know if he actually entered the city. Even if he did, it’s likely very dangerous to arrange your exit.”

Mr. Ning’s expression turned stern, and he said in a deep voice, ”We can’t continue like this, it’s too passive. I feel a certain unease, we must leave quickly.”

”Are you saying, sir?”

”That birthday gift is ultimately a curse; even if no doctor can detect any harm from it, it’s not necessary for a doctor to examine it, having someone test it is the same,” Mr. Ning said solemnly, ”Emperor Chu has been lingering around the Prince Mansion probably because of this, waiting for the test results. Once there’s a result, the Prince Mansion is bound to move.”

”But didn’t you say to shift the matter to Shang Pu?”

”That’s the backup plan,” Mr. Ning chuckled, ”I’m worried Emperor Chu will use it as an excuse to search the Prince Mansion and expose us, and another point, if Shang Pu doesn’t cooperate, we’ll be even more passive.”

A trace of ruthlessness flashed in the servant’s eyes, ”If he doesn’t cooperate, then he’ll have to take the first step, at worst we’ll confront him directly.”

Mr. Ning sighed, ”Returning to the capital was indeed a mistake, things are increasingly beyond control. If I had stayed on the fief, waited for the right time to raise the banner, it would have been so much smoother, but now...”

The servant looked at his old master’s tired old face, bit his teeth, and whispered, ”Sir, rather than pushing Shang out, why not...”

He made a throat-slitting gesture.

Anyway, this one in the mansion doesn’t listen, rather than being dragged down by him, it would be better to support another.

Mr. Ning said, ”At this point, let’s not say such things anymore, I’ve raised him for so many years, he’s grown up too.”

”Sir, subordinates think this isn’t impossible, let Shang return to his place, and become true spouses with the young mistress in the mansion, have a child, wouldn’t that be more rightful?” The servant urged.

Mr. Ning, however, revealed a helpless smile and said, ”I understand your meaning, but look at me, how many years can I still live well, can I still raise another young master to adulthood? The master has a point, I don’t have much time to wait.”

The servant felt somewhat sad, gritted his teeth, ”Sir, it would be good if you could see the country restored.”

Mr. Ning was stunned and said nothing for a long time.

Little did both know, right beneath them, under the table legs, there was a tiny hole, transmitting all their words downward.

”That old scoundrel, I knew I couldn’t rely on him, damn it!” In the underground secret room, Xia Houzhe listened to the words passed down from above, punched the wall in anger, his face turning ferocious.
