The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Chapter 594: Chapter 594: The Unremarkable Princess Consort Ji and Her Son

”Is that the late emperor’s youngest son, Prince Min?”

Song Ci saw the young man in splendid attire leisurely riding a tall horse, smiling and greeting the common folk on both sides of the street.

He noticed a child who had fallen and even stopped to dismount, bowing respectfully to the elderly and the child with a gentle demeanor, leaving the elderly person at a loss, looking both surprised and flattered.

”Prince Min was sent to his fiefdom at the age of six. I, as a humble servant, had never seen him before. Looking at him now, he seems quite approachable,” said the Palace Nanny with a tone of admiration.

Song Ci watched as Prince Min mounted his horse again, her gaze settling on his face, and said, ”He looks rather unremarkable.”

The face of this Prince couldn’t be called particularly handsome, not even surpassing her own elder son and Baoyu. Yet, his demeanor exuded noble grace and elegance, with his attire perfectly reflecting his refined and precious status.

If Song Ci were to score him, she’d give a seventy for appearance and ninety for demeanor; as for his character, he embodies the persona of a wealthy idle prince.

Palace Nanny: ”...”

She glanced at Prince Min’s not-so-remarkable face, the corner of her mouth twitching, thinking no one would believe you aren’t enamored with handsome men.

Feeling as though someone was watching him, Prince Min looked up and met Song Ci’s gaze.

Song Ci was startled, her brows twitching slightly.

Upon seeing him directly and their eyes meeting, even when the other party gave her a smile and nodded slightly, Song Ci still felt a pang in her heart.

There was an inexplicable discomfort, a chill creeping over her.

It’s uncanny.

Song Ci lowered her head, rubbing the back of her hand as goosebumps rose on her wrist.

She looked at Prince Min again but no longer felt that way, as if the previous discomfort had been a mere illusion.

”The one you wanted to see has arrived,” the Palace Nanny quietly reminded at this moment.

”Where?” Song Ci immediately brushed aside her earlier illusion and looked on.

Goodness, a towering sedan chair followed not far behind Prince Min, heavily guarded by officials, with two rows of Palace Maids walking alongside in accompaniment.

Song Ci thought, why aren’t they scattering flower petals from baskets? Petal-covered sedan chairs are the standard for such appearances, after all.

The sedan chair was draped with thin veils which were now lifted, clearly revealing a noblewoman in splendid attire sitting within, chin raised arrogantly, her gaze occasionally slanting towards the streets on either side.

”That’s Princess Consort Ji.”

Even after seeing the portrait of Princess Consort Ji at the Empress Dowager’s confidante’s place, having formed a preliminary impression in her mind, Song Ci still marveled at the late emperor’s taste upon seeing Princess Consort Ji in person.

This majestic and noble Dowager, just like her portrait, was plump and polished, with rosy lips enhanced by rouge, and slanting almond-shaped eyes with a hint of red shadow at the corners, willow-leaf eyebrows, and an exquisite flower mark on her forehead.

Honestly, although Princess Consort Ji’s figure doesn’t conform to the typical slender beauty of other concubines, her regal bearing, fair complexion, and luxurious clothing truly do justice to her title of Dowager.

”Princess Consort Ji’s charm is undiminished from the past,” the Palace Nanny exclaimed in admiration.

Song Ci asked, ”You’ve seen her before?”

”Of course I have. Back in her days of great favor...”

”Did she act domineering?” Song Ci inquired curiously, ”Is she of a domineering nature?”

The Palace Nanny sighed, saying, ”Under great favor, who wouldn’t be domineering? It’s not to the extent of causing severe chaos, just that she loved to compete everywhere.”

She glanced at the surrounding people, somewhat cautious, and said, ”It’s not convenient to say too much here, I’ll share more with you later.”

Song Ci would eventually have to meet this Dowager, so understanding her temperament was necessary.
