The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Chapter 583: Chapter 583: Don’t be a Hypocrite

Going to a brothel is out of the question, Song Zhiyuan was just talking. But when he mentioned it to Madam Song, she gave him a beating. Does it sound right for a father to want to take his child to a brothel for an experience?

However, thinking about her eldest son being fifteen already, should a chambermaid be arranged?

With this question in mind, she discussed it with Song Ci.

”Going to a brothel? I can do that!” Song Ci’s eyes lit up like lightning.

It’s an ancient nightclub; she’s wanted to see one for a long time. Unfortunately, since she came here, she’s not a young person. Even if she were a woman, she could still disguise herself as a man to experience it, but she was an old lady. No matter how she disguised herself, her figure and appearance couldn’t fool anyone into thinking she was a man.

What’s more, she had a noble status. If word got out that the elderly mother of Prime Minister Song went to a brothel, the Imperial Censors’ saliva would drown her gifted son.

So, no matter how much Song Ci wanted to, she could only sigh longingly at the idea.

She had to maintain her image, after all.

Now, hearing Madam Song mentioning Song Zhiyuan’s lousy idea, Song Ci was excited, delighted, itching to move.

Nanny coughed, offered her tea, and gave her a silent look: ”Don’t break character; you’re the Dowager, stay calm!”

Madam Song’s pupils shook. Was she hearing things, or did her mother-in-law want to say she intended to visit a brothel?

Song Ci cleared her throat, picked up the teacup, and pretended to drink to cover her embarrassment.

”Don’t arrange for any maidservant. If he is accepted under some great scholar, he has to study. Does he really need a chambermaid to accompany him?” Taking a maid to relieve physiological needs while studying, what does that sound like?

”Of course, that’s not possible,” said Madam Song. How could she allow a maid to follow her son to school, distracting him from advancing?

”If it’s not possible, then there’s even less need to arrange it,” Song Ci said. ”He’s only fifteen; there’s no rush to understand such matters. If you give him a chambermaid so early on, what would your future daughter-in-law think?”

Madam Song replied indifferently, ”It’s just a chambermaid. If the in-laws dislike her when he marries, we can dismiss her at any time.”

See, a mother-in-law’s double standard is showing: it’s fine for her son to have a chambermaid, but if her son-in-law has one, she’d almost want to stab him.

Song Ci chuckled and retorted, ”I wonder if that chambermaid of your second son-in-law has been dismissed yet?”

Madam Song froze: ”...”

Song Ci rolled her eyes secretly, thinking one shouldn’t have double standards; it’ll get exposed.

”A reputation for integrity is exceedingly good, and Su’er doesn’t even have this demand. You don’t need to prepare such things for him. He’s only fifteen, and the doctor said losing kidney yang too early isn’t healthy.” For an adolescent boy, having a certain kind of dream once in a while is no big deal. At most, he could just amuse himself, no need for a chambermaid to bother his future wife.

Madam Song awkwardly agreed and made her escape.

Song Ci snorted lightly and said to Nanny, ”I’ll bet candied fruit that in the future, Su’er’s wife will certainly face her many criticisms. If she gives birth right after marriage, it’s fine, but if not, she’ll definitely send someone into their home.”

Seeing this double standard from Madam Song, even if the daughter-in-law were perfectly made to a template, she’d still find faults where there aren’t any.

The future granddaughter-in-law having such a mother-in-law is worrying.

Nanny said, ”At least give her some face; she’s the eldest daughter-in-law of the main branch.”

Song Ci pouted, then slouched bonelessly on the pillow, looking out the window with malaise and said, ”It’s a shame, no going to the brothel now.” Her eyes suddenly turned, and she said, ”How about I disguise as a shrew and go to the brothel to make trouble? Anyway, Old Master is just a flirt. It’s quite justifiable for me to look for him there.”

Nanny: ”...”

Lying in the line of fire, Old Master Song sneezed twice at the manor, feeling a chill down his spine.
