The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Chapter 574: Chapter 574: The Graceful and Smooth White Lotus

In Jiang’s view, Song Ci could be considered a very open-minded and transparent mother-in-law. Honestly, which mother-in-law under heaven talks about her own son as a scoundrel behind his back?

Sneaking a pinch at the flesh on her waist, Jiang suddenly felt a sense of crisis arising.

”Madam, the third master and the third madam have arrived.”

Jiang immediately perked up; her main objective for visiting her mother-in-law today had been achieved, which was to admire the white lotus.

”Mother, then I shall take my leave now.” Jiang picked up Yuanyuan.

Song Ci glanced at her sideways, what’s the rush? You could leave after seeing the people.

Jiang giggled awkwardly; she could see them outside as well. If she thick-skinnedly stayed here without moving, it might give others the impression that she’s mocking the Third Household.

Song Ci understood this as well, so she didn’t stop her.

Jiang walked out of the main hall with her daughter in her arms, and saw Song Zhiqing and his group, a mix of big and small, and couldn’t help but raise her eyebrows.

Song Zhiqing didn’t expect Jiang to be there and greeted her.

Jiang smiled and said, ”Mother is waiting for you inside.”

Her gaze fell on the woman with a slightly bowed head following the third couple, raising her eyebrows with a meaningful look.

No wonder the third fell for her. Indeed, as Mother said, her beauty and demeanor were both excellent.

Bai Shuilian seemed to sense Jiang’s gaze, slightly lifted her head, and gracefully bowed to Jiang.

Jiang nodded, taking her daughter along; the concubine of her little uncle didn’t have the qualification to make her bow.

”Let’s go in too.”

Song Ci sat leisurely until there was movement at the door.

Song Zhiqing walked in, followed closely by Lu Shi.

”Mother, your son greets you.” Song Zhiqing saluted.

Song Ci said, ”No need for formalities, sit down. I heard you went to the Ministry of Revenue for attendance today?”

”Yes, I have submitted the appointment letter and reported for duty. I also had the seamstress go make the official robe, and I’ll formally take office the day after tomorrow.”

Song Ci nodded, saying, ”I won’t say much else. You’re a father now, you need to shoulder the responsibilities of a man, speak for the people, serve the citizens, and contribute to the Great Qing.”

As she spoke, she found this occasion for lecturing rather tiresome, ugh, makes me want to puke!

”Your son will heed your guidance.” Song Zhiqing looked at Lu Shi, signaling her to speak, but the latter pretended not to see, simply sipping her tea slowly.

Frustrated, Song Zhiqing had to speak himself, ”Mother, Bai Shi has entered our Song Family home, and I’d like Bai Shi and the children to kowtow to you.”

”Bring them in and let me have a look.”

Hong You nodded, lifted the curtain, allowing Bai Shuilian and the maids carrying the children to come in.

”Concubine Bai Shi, leading the grandchildren to greet the madam, respectfully wishing the madam boundless fortune, good health, and happiness.”

Bai Shuilian performed a grand salute, and the two maids carrying the children followed by kneeling down.

Song Ci didn’t let them kneel for too long, she had no interest in secretly tormenting her son’s concubine; if there’s anything to be done, do it directly — is a concubine worthy enough for her to bother with roundabout ways?

Once Bai Shuilian rose, Song Ci squinted to look her over. Having seen many classical beauties, she could effortlessly come up with four-character phrases to describe a beauty. This woman before her, a beauty that could make fish dive and geese fall, captivates with her eyes...

Forget it, saying too much boils down to just four words — ’stunningly beautiful.’

Stunningly beautiful is one thing, but she also embodied the kind of delicate and serene temperament that had captured a man’s heart, looking both alluringly pure and subtly seductive?

One look at her actions, hmm, there’s no doubt — she’s indeed a masterpiece of white lotus.
