Apocalyptic Disaster: The King of Soldiers' Ultimate Pampering

41: Chapter 41 You’re the ones who will die. They never imagined that the few ruthless people from the 32nd floor actually had guns in their hands.

After Huo Sixian and the others finished off the zombies in the 31st-floor corridor, he spoke toward the hallway strewn with corpses.

”If you want to live, pick up a weapon and come out to fight. I can save you once today, but what about after that?”

Huo Sixian didn’t know if there were any survivors left on the 31st floor.

But he still felt the need to shout it out.

On one hand, it was to remind any survivors still alive in the building; on the other, it was to create noise to attract the zombies.

Huo Sixian shouted this on almost every floor. At first, no survivors were willing to fight alongside him.

But when they reached the 3rd floor, a clean-looking young boy came out holding a baseball bat.

Seeing this, a smile played at the corner of Huo Sixian’s mouth. ”Follow behind us.”

Ye Qingqing saw that the boy came out of Room 303, and she remembered it.

Because someone from 303 had cursed at Lin Wanrou before, the memory was vivid. Instinctively, Ye Qingqing felt a sense of goodwill toward the boy.

She kindly reminded him, ”Don’t make a sound, and stay close.”

Although Ye Qingqing was also following behind Huo Sixian, she could occasionally deal with any stragglers that suddenly lunged from behind.

So, at this moment, she unconsciously adopted the air of a senior.

Gradually, after the first person stood up, a second person followed.

More and more people followed behind Huo Sixian. Although these people didn’t contribute much to killing the zombies, they could handle the corpses in the rear.

As those in front made a kill, those behind would take the zombie corpses and throw them directly into the water outside.

The water already contained everything imaginable anyway, so what were a few more zombie corpses?

Huo Sixian’s prediction was correct: with every floor they descended, the zombies became more numerous.

Furthermore, as they got closer to the lower floors, the scent of blood grew heavier.

It was likely because many survivors had gathered on the lower floors earlier, packing their things and waiting for The Authorities’ rescue team.

However, the rescue team never arrived; instead, the zombies did.

As they moved further down, they could even see some food supplies. However, these supplies were now contaminated with zombie blood. Some packaged items were still okay and could be eaten after being cleaned.

The pity was the bulk grain that had no packaging.

It was wasted right there on the ground, a sight that pained Ye Qingqing’s heart.

Perhaps because Ye Qingqing had suffered from hunger in her previous life, she cherished food immensely in this one.

Seeing the piles of grain on the ground made her heart ache.

”What a waste... so much food.”

Ye Qingqing couldn’t help but say.

But in the next second, she discovered that some people, driven mad by hunger, were picking up food stained with zombie blood and eating it in a few bites.

”Don’t eat that!” By the time Ye Qingqing called out to stop them, it was already too late.

And it wasn’t just one person...

”Don’t eat it!” Ye Qingqing let out a roar, but the people who had consumed the food contaminated with zombie blood were already beginning to mutate.

The mutation was incredibly fast—faster than being scratched by a zombie.

Their skin turned gray at a speed visible to the naked eye, like a painting rapidly losing its color.

Then, their faces began to look like ’Li Zhuowen’s’ had; the skin on their faces started to bulge and churn as if a heatwave were rolling beneath it, looking terrifyingly tense.

”Ah!” The surrounding people who hadn’t eaten the food let out screams and roars as they watched those around them mutate.

Watching this scene, Ye Qingqing felt like her head was about to explode with rage. Why were people so stupid?

The Authorities had clearly sent helicopters to announce it to the whole city. Why did some people still refuse to believe it?

Why did they insist on eating food stained with zombie blood?

Ye Qingqing’s eyes darkened. In the instant her Machete swung, the heads of the mutating zombies were separated from their bodies.

Seeing this, the screams from the crowd grew even louder.

”Murder! She’s—she’s killing people!”

”Help!”

At this moment, the people looked at Ye Qingqing as if she were some kind of female demon. Huo Sixian also noticed the scene behind him.

But because the zombies in front hadn’t been cleared yet, he was spread too thin and had no time to worry about what was happening in the back.

The corner of Ye Qingqing’s mouth curled up. Looking at the dark-red blood dripping from her blade, she couldn’t help but chuckle.

”I could have left them alone, but once their mutation finished, it’s you who would have died!”

Once Ye Qingqing said this, no one present dared to speak.

Because Ye Qingqing was right; if she hadn’t acted, they would have been the ones to die.

However, these people were still somewhat afraid of her.

After all, Ye Qingqing was still holding a blood-stained knife, which she was currently brandishing in front of them. How could they not be afraid?

Ye Qingqing tore a strip of cloth from nearby and slowly wiped the blood from her Machete.

At that moment, she noticed that the blood, which had been dark red, was turning black at a visible rate.

”Do you see? These people were already infected with the zombie virus. They weren’t human anymore; they were already zombies.”

In truth, by now, the zombies in the entire building were mostly eliminated.

Huo Sixian, Lu Huan, and the others breathed a sigh of relief and stood before the crowd.

Huo Sixian spoke in a low voice: ”As you’ve all seen, the appearance of these zombies means the current situation is grim. The supplies dropped by The Authorities have reached the roof. We just moved those supplies from the roof to the 32nd-floor corridor.”

”Find a person in charge, start taking a headcount, and then begin distributing the supplies.”

The people in the building didn’t really know what to do. Many were still staying in their homes and hadn’t come out.

The previous Building Leader, Zhao Degang, was already dead, so there was no longer a central figure in the building.

Everyone instinctively looked to Huo Sixian as their leader. Hearing him say these things, some people’s focus shifted toward him.

But Huo Sixian had clearly anticipated their expectations and spoke up to shut them down: ”You can use this time to choose someone to be in charge, but it cannot be us.”

Ye Qingqing looked at the crowd; it seemed no one had any intention of stepping forward.

However, this was none of her business. She had done all she could. She wasn’t a savior, nor did she have Huo Sixian’s capabilities, so she couldn’t manage these people.

Just then, that delicate-looking young boy stepped forward.
