Apocalyptic Disaster: The King of Soldiers' Ultimate Pampering

14: Chapter 14 CookingYe Qingqing could predict that she would likely spend the most time eating in this living room from now on.

Furthermore, in this life, Ye Qingqing didn’t want to wrong her own stomach.

Next was the kitchen. Steamers, woks, and stockpots were essential. Moreover, Ye Qingqing had to start cooking right away; otherwise, the more time dragged on, the less opportunity she would have to cook.

Ye Qingqing left the other two rooms empty for the time being. Originally, she had planned to rent a larger house to make stockpiling goods easier, but now another problem had arisen.

If the house was too big, with just her and Ah Huang, the whole place would feel incredibly empty. Combined with the gloom and the raging storm outside the window, it would make Ye Qingqing feel especially lonely.

However, Ye Qingqing quickly pushed that thought to the back of her mind because she discovered another important matter: she had no entertainment resources.

Having struggled to survive for so long in her previous life, Ye Qingqing had long since forgotten about things like tv series and mini-games. In the Post-Apocalyptic World, she had even occasionally run into celebrities from before the apocalypse.

However, those celebrities weren’t much different from her. If there was a difference, it was only that their beauty caused them to be reduced to toys for those who had food, regardless of whether they were male or female.

Therefore, being beautiful was inherently a cardinal sin in the Post-Apocalyptic World. But in this life, Ye Qingqing had time and supplies. When a person doesn’t have to worry about survival, they start thinking about entertainment.

Ye Qingqing took out all her electronic screens from her space and opened the internet to start downloading frantically. She even went to the all-powerful Orange Shopping App, wondering if anyone was still working in this Typhoon weather.

After opening a shop, she asked immediately, ”Can you download all the video resources from the past year for me? Any genre is fine. tv series are the basics, and it would be even better if you have things like farming machinery manuals.”

Ye Qingqing hadn’t held much hope originally.

Unexpectedly, the person directly sent Ye Qingqing a link with a price tag of 500 yuan.

Looking at the price, Ye Qingqing couldn’t help but gasp. Could you really buy anything on this orange app?

Ye Qingqing quickly paid and opened the link to start downloading. Who knew when the internet would be cut off?

It was better to seize the time.

Ye Qingqing couldn’t help but breathe a sigh of relief. Fortunately, she still had a bit of money left on her card; otherwise, she wouldn’t have been able to pay at a time like this.

However, Ye Qingqing’s head soon began to ache because she discovered that the resource pack to be downloaded was simply too large, and she didn’t have a VIP membership.

Ye Qingqing couldn’t help but curse under her breath. Damned capitalists. She had almost forgotten that before the Post-Apocalyptic World, everything cost money.

Even downloading a video was impossible without a membership; the speed was incredibly slow.

Grumbling, Ye Qingqing paid the final fee and then began the download.

Since the video files were so large, Ye Qingqing took advantage of the download time to go straight to the kitchen to begin her grand cooking plan.

Ah Huang had been watching Ye Qingqing busy herself, frowning one moment and looking at her phone the next. He had originally wanted to signal that he didn’t have a dog bed yet, but he saw that Ye Qingqing’s gaze didn’t land on him at all.

Ah Huang intended to wait until Ye Qingqing was finished to remind her that he still didn’t have a dog bed.

But seeing Ye Qingqing leave the sofa and head for the kitchen, Ah Huang couldn’t take the neglect anymore and barked directly at Ye Qingqing from the sofa.

”Woof! Woof! Woof!”

At first, Ye Qingqing didn’t understand what Ah Huang meant, until Ah Huang made a sleeping motion. Only then did Ye Qingqing remember.

It turned out that Ah Huang’s dog bed hadn’t been settled yet.

Ye Qingqing slapped her forehead and hurried over to stroke the puppy’s head. ”I’m sorry, I’m sorry. I forgot about you again.”

Ye Qingqing quickly took out a dog bed from her space, along with dog bowls—two separate basins for drinking and eating.

She placed one by the living room sofa and another in the bedroom, making sure there was a dog bed to sleep in everywhere.

However, knowing Ah Huang’s personality, Ye Qingqing guessed he wouldn’t sleep in the dog beds because when he stayed with her, he always slept in the same bed as her.

So, Ye Qingqing hadn’t even considered giving Ah Huang a dog bed initially.

Having finished all that, Ye Qingqing hurried to the kitchen to start cooking.

First, she took out all the rice cookers from her space.

But the kitchen clearly didn’t have enough space, so Ye Qingqing moved the rice cookers to the living room and other rooms.

Every rice cooker was cooking a large pot of rice. Since the space kept food perfectly fresh, Ye Qingqing wasn’t afraid that cooking too much rice would cause it to spoil.

Moreover, people from Huaxia inherently had a gene for eating carbohydrates—not just rice, but also steamed buns and noodles.

Ye Qingqing started with the staple foods. After getting all the rice cookers going, she began steaming buns without pause. They were all semi-finished products she had bought, but Ye Qingqing didn’t mind.

Buns were easy to carry; if she got hungry later, she could just grab one and eat. Plus, the smell of steamed buns was faint, so she wouldn’t have to worry about others noticing when she was outside.

However, Ye Qingqing realized that the electrical outlets in this room might not be enough.

At this moment, Ye Qingqing understood the benefit of having two rooms.

Ye Qingqing went directly to the next room and filled it with steamers—steamed buns, flower rolls, red bean buns, pork buns, beef buns...

Looking at this scene, Ye Qingqing’s appetite was instantly piqued, and she felt a bit hungry again.

So, Ye Qingqing took out a bun from her space to tide herself over. After finishing it in a few bites, she returned to the room. While waiting for the buns and rice, she boiled a lot of noodles.

They were all plain boiled noodles, which she then put into individual disposable plastic bowls. Later, whether she wanted spicy or clear soup, she could just add the seasoning and eat directly from the bowl.

Furthermore, since they were taken fresh from the space, they would retain the state of being just out of the pot; she didn’t have to worry about the noodles getting soggy.

After boiling the noodles, Ye Qingqing went back to the next room without stopping to collect the steamed buns.

She took out small bags, just like those in a breakfast shop, packed them individually, and then threw them into her space. When she wanted to eat, she could just take them out with the bag—it was very convenient.

However, after collecting this batch of buns, just as Ye Qingqing was about to head back, she unexpectedly found that the elevator had opened.

Perhaps out of a stress response from her previous life, Ye Qingqing’s heart skipped a beat when she saw the elevator doors open.

She wanted to run back, but it was too late because a person walked out of the elevator right in front of her.

The first thing to step out was a pair of incredibly long legs in black boots, paired with cargo pants that wrapped the legs tightly.
