Apocalyptic Disaster: The King of Soldiers' Ultimate Pampering

16: Chapter 16 I ran into you againYe Qingqing couldn’t help but laugh as she watched this scene unfold.

These people weren’t just showing off; they were even posting photos in the Building Chat Group. It was as if they were terrified others wouldn’t know they had supplies, and some even mentioned selling them.

Little Silly Hiyori (503): [Me, me, me! I haven’t had hot pot in ages. In such terrible weather, we should eat something warm!]

As Ye Qingqing looked at the person speaking, a glint of excitement flashed in her eyes.

Because that profile picture and name belonged to none other than Lin Wanrou!

She actually lived here too!

She had originally been planning how to find Lin Wanrou in the Post-Apocalyptic World, but she never expected they would be living in the same building.

This made things incredibly convenient for Ye Qingqing. She didn’t even have to go looking for Lin Wanrou; the woman had delivered herself right to her doorstep. She wondered if Fu Peisheng was here as well.

The mere thought of it made Ye Qingqing feel excited.

She continued reading the messages in the Building Chat Group.

The person offering to sell self-heating hot pots and instant noodles didn’t just sell to Lin Wanrou, but to others as well. Watching this, a cold sneer formed in Ye Qingqing’s heart; she felt these people were terrifyingly naive.

There were a few level-headed individuals who spoke up with well-intentioned warnings when they saw people flaunting their supplies, but it didn’t do much good.

Meeting in the Flowers (121): [You probably shouldn’t show off your supplies... if someone with bad intentions sees this...]

The person was even mocked by the group, with others claiming they lacked compassion at a critical moment.

Zhuge Liang Quietly (303): [I say, person from the 12th floor, what’s wrong with you? It’s bad enough you don’t understand mutual aid, but why are you stopping others from helping?]

Purple Rose (152): [Exactly. I think some people are just jealous. Listen up, everyone: from now on, nobody sell any food to the 12th floor! We don’t welcome people with no empathy!]

Zhuge Liang Quietly (303): [Yeah, yeah.]

Ye Qingqing made a note of the person who gave the warning—Unit 121 on the 12th floor, the household on the left. The people speaking up like that now were the ones who were actually clear-headed.

If she inevitably had to deal with others in the future, Ye Qingqing would rather deal with someone like that; at least they weren’t stupid and didn’t blindly follow the crowd.

Little Silly Hiyori (503): [Everyone, please stop arguing. I’m sure the person on the 12th floor didn’t mean it on purpose.]

Little Silly Hiyori (503): [Right, little brother?]

Ye Qingqing laughed out loud at Lin Wanrou’s message. She knew Lin Wanrou had her ways, but she didn’t expect her to use such ’green tea’ manipulative language in the building group. Did she have no brains?

As it turned out, Ye Qingqing was right—not everyone in the group was going to indulge Lin Wanrou.

Someone soon came out to rebut her.

Cai Wenji Leg Burger (242): [The smell of ’green tea’ is so strong, isn’t it, little brother?]

Rain Has Parting Intent (303): [Where did these flighty birds come from, polluting the air? Right, little brother?]

Lin Wanrou’s face turned green with rage as she watched this play out.

She picked up her phone, intending to start a keyboard war in retaliation, but at that moment, the internet signal flickered.

It wasn’t just Lin Wanrou; Ye Qingqing and the entire Building Chat Group were experiencing poor signals. The Typhoon was simply too powerful, and with the heavy rain, it was already impressive that the network communications had lasted this long.

Seeing the connection cut, Ye Qingqing suddenly thought of the video resources she had been downloading. She had thought she wouldn’t be able to finish them, but to her surprise, the download library showed that everything was already complete.

Ye Qingqing couldn’t help but sigh in admiration; having ’money power’ was truly great. In her previous life, she had never spent money to speed up downloads, but now she felt the benefits of wealth.

Such a massive amount of video data had actually finished downloading entirely.

Ye Qingqing picked up the tablet used for downloads and categorized the videos, transferring them to different tablets to make managing her resources easier.

Ye Qingqing randomly clicked on a video. It was a tv series adapted from a hit web novel that had been very popular before the apocalypse, starring a top-tier idol actor.

However, that idol hadn’t fared well in the previous life. At the very beginning, Ye Qingqing hadn’t even recognized that the person scavenging for trash alongside her was someone who had constantly appeared on television before the end of the world.

It was only after spending a long time with him that she slowly realized it. Since Ye Qingqing used to watch TV when she was bored, she was somewhat familiar with the popular idols of the time.

Looking at the man in the tv series now, a trace of pity stirred in Ye Qingqing’s heart.

After all, they were people who had scavenged for trash together in the Post-Apocalyptic World. Was she supposed to just watch him end up the same way as in her previous life?

But since she couldn’t meet him right now, everything would have to be left to fate.

After her noon rest, Ye Qingqing began cooking again without pause.

There were only a few days left for carefree cooking. Later on, when the electricity, water, and gas were cut, let alone cooking—even eating a pack of instant noodles might draw people to the smell.

In a starving environment, people become extremely sensitive to food, a fact Ye Qingqing knew all too well.

Her afternoon preparations involved simmering soups: chicken soup, old duck soup, pork bone soup...

While Ye Qingqing knew how to cook, she only knew simple dishes; anything more complex was beyond her.

Halfway through cooking, Ye Qingqing suddenly remembered she could also steam fish. In extreme cold or extreme heat, eating a bowl of light steamed fish was undoubtedly one of life’s great pleasures.

However, the steamer had been left in the unit next door. Currently, Ye Qingqing was a bit hesitant to go out because she wanted to avoid contact with Huo Sixian and his group.

Ye Qingqing looked through the peephole at the hallway. Good, the corridor was empty. It was a perfect chance to run next door.

Ye Qingqing took a deep breath, placed her hand on the doorknob, and listening to the sound of the lock, cautiously opened the door. She then sprinted next door, grabbed the steamer as fast as possible, and was just about to open the door to return home—

When she saw the elevator doors open again. Ye Qingqing’s mouth twitched; wasn’t this a bit too coincidental?

This was the second time. The second time she had come out of the middle room, the elevator doors had opened.

”Ye Qingqing, I’ve run into you again.”

Huo Sixian was currently soaked from head to toe. Strands of hair clung to his head, so he had swept it all back for better visibility, revealing a smooth forehead.

Ye Qingqing looked at Huo Sixian and gave an awkward greeting. Just as she was about to slip into her room, Huo Sixian handed her a box of supplies.

”I just heard from the Building Leader that you only just moved in. You probably haven’t bought many supplies yet. My friend and I went out and found a lot, take these for now.”

”This Typhoon won’t be stopping anytime soon.”
